Circus Circus

Thee stars may be a little unfiar and maybe it should be 3 1/2 stars. Stayed in the slightly more up market 'tower' rooms which were very clean and quiet with an OK view of the strip. I would agree however with a previous reviewer that the walk to the 'tower' from the check in desk is quite a test of your navigational skills. I would say this is a family hotel with activities and food focusing on families - not a bad thing just not for me. A good cheap stay in one of Vegas's original hotels - shame it's been mucked about with over the years with increased room capacity/extensions which makes the internal lay out messy and hard to navigate. Convenient for the rest of the strip if you don't mind a walk.

We have just come home from staying at circus circus, we found it very clean and a nice atmosphere. My 10 & 7 year old really enjoyed there trip and we found lots of things for them to do. In the morning my husband fetched a lovely cup of tea from the Macdonalds.
The meals we tryed in the hotel were very nice, and lots of choice for the kids.
the circus acts were brilliant, but we ran out of time to do the adventure dome, but this would be fantastic for older children with there parents to go of to.

The Circus Circus is pretty hit and miss, especially reading the other reviews. We were in a clean and quite impressive room but we seemed to be above the engine room for the roller coaster and so the noise was awful and never-ending. We also had very noisy neighbours and hardly slept for the 3 nights we were there. The view was nothing special. The buffet food was excellent, however, and the hotel appears to be fairly typical of a budget Vegas hotel but I think if we go again we would rather pay a bit more and have a nicer holiday! This hotel is probably perfectly fine if you want to stay up all night and sleep during the day, or if you're lucky enough to get a room with a quieter aspect. I wouldn't particularly recommend this place.

An excellent hotel for families - there are plenty of things to keep the kids happy (shopping mall, indoor theme park, circus displays etc) while the adults chill out or visit the on site casino.  The hotel staff went out of their way to help; when we arived our room wasn't ready so they immediately knocked $10 off the bill and gave us our choice of beverages while we waited.  We had also booked one of the cheaper rooms but on arrival were told we had been upgraded!  This is not the most visually impressive of the hotels on The Strip from the exterior, but once you get inside it is a wonderful experience.

Review of 'CIRCUS CIRCUS'

A week ago i stayed at Circus Circus with my friend's family for a whole weekend.  I was very disappointed when i saw the room, it did not look like a 3-star room at all.  The room was very filthy, bed sheets did not look good at all.  The upside of circus circus is the entertainment there, especially the game room for us(teens). Good place for teens and kids to play.  But the room is not clean at all, need a lot of maintenance/improvement

Good and Bad

20 July 2005
It certainly wasn't what we expected.  We didn't get off to a good start...

We were told that the Circus Circus is a 3 star hotel, and after charging us $4 for a phone that you may or may not use, they placed us in a manor room.  The room was filthy; stains on the walls, dirty windows, dirty carpet and the floor wasn't even level, causing the furniture to shake.  The manor rooms are definitely NOT 3-star.  We complained and got ourselves moved to the Skyrise tower, which was a huge improvement over the manor.  The rooms were a lot tidier and we had a nice view of the Stratosphere and the desert on the horizon.  The only problem with this room is you have to pay 50c everytime you want to open your own safe, a bit ridiculous in my opinion.

The main problem with this hotel is the number of people.  To exit the Circus Circus, first you have to wrestle your way through about 50 billion un-parented children.  This hotel is great if you want to dump your kids and allow yourself time to gamble, and that's certainly what I witnessed during my stay.  There were children going down esculators the wrong way, pushing all of the buttons on the elevators, rolling on the floors etc, so it wasn't exactly a pleasant atmosphere.

As for food - we only tried The Steak House and Stivali.  Stivali was a bit of a disappointment to be honest, but The Steak House was absolutely tremendous, highly recommended.  Great staff, great food, and no hyper kids!

There was also a good selection of shops and places for buying coffee/donuts etc, so that was handy.

The Circus Circus is like a maze.  There are umpteen floors of shops/casinos/eateries, and the first time we stayed there it took us about 15 minutes to locate the nearest exit!

We walked up and down the strip to check out some of the other hotels, and after seeing most of them I can safely say that I won't be staying in the Circus Circus if I were ever to go back to Las Vegas.  It's good if you have a lot of very *young* children, I suppose, but it's definitely not for me.

It was a different experience. More family orientated. I hadn't been there in about 15 years.

WE LOVE THE CIRCUS HOTEL AND ALL THE STAFF; THEY ARE ALL SO VERY HELPFUL. WE WILL BE GOING BACK THIS YEAR - CAN'T WAIT. THANKS, EMMA & SHAUN.

Excellent value for money-'CIRCUS CIRCUS'

10 April 2005
We were a little dubious about our choice of hotel after having read other reviews but I have to say that Circus Circus was terrific! The rooms in the hotel were enormous. There were two KINGSIZE beds in each room. We had a billiant view over the snow capped mountains and we also looked out at the magnificent Statosphere Tower which is situated at the top of the Strip.
The rooms were immaculate, lots of fluffy white towels and everything you would expect from an hotel. There are plenty of high speed lifts to whisk you to and from your room. We were delighted to find ample parking as we had hired a car and were worried about parking facilities. The fact that Circus Circus is located at the top end of the Strip was a bonus as it is much quieter and less crowded than the centre and south Strip. Everyone walks in Las Vegas so it was good to have the exercise after the huge portions that we were eating!!!! There was such a good choice of restaurants in the hotel that we didn't need to eat anywhere else. The Buffet was incredible value and with a hungry 16 year old with us, he was able to choose and eat anything he wanted.
If we return to Las vegas we would definitely choose to stay at Circus Circus again as we believe that it is definitely the best value hotel located on the Strip.

Circus Circus, is an excellent choice of hotel for families visiting Las Vegas. The place is huge...with so much to do on site, you dont even need to leave the hotel! It has a fun, circus theme throughout, a mini themepark, a casino, and various shops to buy souvenirs.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, with standard facilities, including telephone, TV (with some satellite channels available)and a spacious ensuite bathroom with bath and shower.

Its not one of the most impressive hotels in the area, but it is an ideal base and excellent value for money.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to younger couples, due to the focus on families. It is also right at the end of the main strip, so you need to wear very comfortable shoes for the mammoth walk up and down the strip!

The breakfast choice was unbelieveable! We paid about $8 and it was self service, all you can eat buffet style, with a huge selection of typical american style breakfast options. Your really don't need to eat for the rest of the day!

Overall a great value hotel.
