Review of 'CESAR AUGUSTUS'
10 October 2005
Stayed at Cesar Augustas in October 2004. We had a room which overlooked the main road at the front of the hotel. The room was ok. The bathroom was clean and well decorated. The balcony was rather old and tattered. The swimming pool was not nice at all. We did not even venture into it. We did go into the sister hotel Augustas (across the road) to use their pool. This seemed a much better hotel to stay in. The food was awful. We were half board. The menu catered for Germans, mainly long sausages and fatty meat. We did go out quite a few times to eat as our children would not eat anything on the menu, except bread rolls and cake. There was no entertainment in our hotel, so we used to go out every evening and then end up in the Augustas over the road. The entertainment there catered for the Germans as well. If you are going to this hotel it is ok for a base, if you are coming and going. But it is no 5*. You get what you pay for.

Review of 'CESAR AUGUSTUS'
04 October 2005
When we arrived, we were informed that we were actually booked into the Hotel AUGUSTUS, just across the road (both hotels run by the same company). This appears to have been a much better hotel. The CESAR AUGUSTUS has a railway line at the back and a road at the front - particularly unsuitable if you have young children in your party. The AUGUSTUS was quite a lot bigger, was clean, and there was a large pool area, leading almost directly onto the beach, which was also very clean. Hotel bar staff were friendly, reception staff were slow but friendly enough, and beds made every day / towels changed. The continental breakfast was okay / evening meals were not children friendly, but there were some nice desserts! The shower was very good, and hot water was available all day. The air-conditioning broke down on the last night, but every other night was working fine. My family enjoyed Cambrils and the hotel in general, but would probably only recommend B&B, rather than half or full board.

Review of 'CESAR AUGUSTUS'

The room that we got at the hotel overlooked the railway at the back. This made the stay a 'little' noisy. Also the shower did not work initially. After we complained, the staff did fix it (the next morning). The room was clean, fresh and the staff were helpful but we don't think that this was the type of place that we were wanting. The front of the hotel overlooked the road - but i don't think that this would have been as noisy as the railway - as the trains run all night. It is a pity - if the hotel had been situated elsewhere the stay would have been more enjoyable. But I think that next time, we'll be going 4 star.

Review of 'CESAR AUGUSTUS'
12 June 2005
Myself and my partner are both in our early twenties and have been on many holidays in the past five years. We were both really looking forward to our holiday, staying at the Cesar Augustus hotel as it had good reviews on the internet. I do admit that the hotel was kept clean and the rooms were looked after on a daily basis. However the shower did not work properly and was like a tap not a shower, the air conditioning was very poor and noisy. The hotel entertainment was awful, it was a childrens disco every night and it was always spanish pop music which was so loud it was impossible to have a nice calm drink at the bar. The music could also be heard during dinner as it bounced through the walls of the hotel. The food in the hotel was not very nice and was frequently repeated over our weeks stay at the hotel. I found this unbelievable that a hotel of this size could not differentiate the menu for even a week. We were pleased that we were not staying for a fortnight. the hotel also had many large groups of school children staying over the course of the week. The children created alot of noise both day and night. One particular day my partner and myself were relaxing beside the pool when one of the groups came in to the pool. I have no problem with children enjoying themselves on holiday but the noise and the fact that we were getting wet with the water being thrown around was highly irritating. so much so that we and another two couples left the pool side. the review of the hotel also did not mention that the hotel had a busy train line running behind it. the train line was directly outside our room/balcony and the noise from the frequent running trains day and night was unbearable. the hotel also states that they have a car park and garage, a thin allyway where it was very difficult to park any car which frequently got blocked in by unknown guests and four small spaces at the front of the hotel which were constently full.

Review of 'CESAR AUGUSTUS'

My family stayed at the Hotel Augustus in May this year (2005) for one week. This hotel is very clean and the rooms are cleaned every day by very polite cleaners who always went out of their way to say hello. The Hotel staff and especially the bar waiters were extremely nice and made sure our stay was an enjoyable one. The hotel has a lovely swimming pool which overlooks the sea and is very clean and safe with a lifeguard at all times. Cambrils itself is a lovely clean town with many british bars and cafes and is in a prime position to visit the Water Park at La Pineda and the Port Aventura theme park. There is a bus stop directly outside the hotel and most places of interest are within 10 minutes reach. The beach at Cambrils is one of the cleanest we have encountered. Our family throughly enjoyed this holiday and would certainly visit this hotel again.
