Great Family Accommodation

22 August 2008
Just arrived back (literally) and thought I should share our thoughts on Celeste. We have just spent 18 days there as a family with 3 kids (14, 10 and 9) and have a fab time. This was our 4th visit to Costa Teguise as it is undoubtedly our favourite relaxing holiday destination. We have stayed in different apartments each time we have visited but found the Celeste great value for money, in a great, yet quite central location, clean and more than adequately appointed. We had a 2 bedroomed apartment in Block 2 (Room 205). The rooms could do with a bit of TLC but if you want a base to sleep, shower and change you could do a lot worse! There are 3 blocks eaching having its own pool. Block 2 was probably the busiest and (slightly) bigger pool but also has a pool table, table football and laundry facilities. The pool areas were clean with free sunbeds and were never overcrowded. The pool water was very refreshing (v.cool even in August)without the harsh taste of saltwater or over use of chemicals. The 2 bed apartment had a twin and double room with a sofa bed in the lounge. As reported in previous reviews not the softest of beds but OK! The sofabed is OK for the kids but a bit narrow and creeky for an adult to sleep on! The bathroom and kitchen were both clean but basic. The kitchen was well equiped with Microwave, Kettle and toaster, loads of pots and pans etc if you want to truely 'self-cater'. Block 2 and 3 benefit from 'poolside' bars offering great food at very reasonable prices. Didn't have much caused to bother the Reception staff but found them friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Left luggage room and showers available. All in all a great place to stay and we would definately consider staying there again.

Oldies on Tour

28 May 2008
We have visited this area several times as a couple but this time took along our widowed cousin. we enjoy the area where everything is at hand and there are several lovely walking areas that are not too strenuous, from the apartments the beaches are minutes walk, with bars and restaurants even closer you are at the centre of the area but without the noise. We asked for a two bedroom apartment based on a previously submitted review and were lucky enough to be given the requested apartment, furniture and fittings were more than adequate and maid service very discrete. We consider the layout very attractive and once you become accustomed to the limited reception hours not a major drawback the staff are helpful, friendly and welcoming. Downside - the maintenance of our apartment was poor the bath cracked and grouting certainly needing to be replaced, the wooden paneled doors were also beyond repair fortunately our two weeks were brilliant sunshine any rain would have seen a greater use of the towels. We all agree however a further visit is a must, also visit the highlander the catering is grand, the package to Teguise market with lunch included was superb

Celeste Apartments and Black Bull Pub

19 May 2008
Stayed in Costa Teguise twice before and this was our first time at the Celeste and definately not the last. It does exactly what is says on the tin !! its clean, peaceful and quiet in an excellent central location. The rooms were spotless with maid service every two days we were in block 1 which had a small pool which is excellent for young children. The beach is down the steps at the rear and less than 5 minutes walk away. We sampled the delights of the black bull pub following some of the previous reviews on this site and the food was simply to die for. From breakfasts to mid-day snacks to the fabulous sunday roast that they offer it was 5 star food at a fantastic low cost. If you have children that are slightly fussy eaters then the staff will assist in any way to accomodate your needs, a must is the home made coleslaw !!!!!!! Cannot recommend these apartments enough we will return again later this year. Thank you again to the Black family for making our stay at the celeste and black bull so memorable.

Celeste Apartments

04 April 2008
Having been to Costa Teguise before we booked the Celeste Apts this time as they have a central location. One minutes walk out of the apartment block and you will find a little courtyard with a variety of restaurants and bars. 2 minutes walk and you are at the beach. Although the apartments are close to these amenities, it remains a quiet place. The only noise we experienced was neighbouring apartments children. The terrace with our apartment was quite secluded. The accomodation is basic but clean. Having read these reviews online before booking we knew what to expect and as other reviews suggest 'its cheap and cheerful'. Appliances for self catering are provided although with the apartments central we chose to eat out everyday. Would recommend staying here if you just want a base to rest your head at night and pass a few hours on the sun terrace. Some things to consider before you go: - Reception is not 24 hours so you can only access safety deposit boxes during these hours (usually close 9pm,earlier at weekends). - might want to take a tea towel for drying dishes and a few pegs for hanging washing out

Celeste and Costa Teguise

04 February 2008
This is the 2nd time at the Celeste and 4th time in Costa Teguise. We travelled with friends on 31st January for a 4 day break. The weather was surprisingly good around 22 degrees during the day and 16 at night, with 1 overcast day(which was fortunate as our friends were rather burnt from the day before). We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment in the same block as the reception. Room 209, 1 bedroom has a double bed (which is unusual in most places) and the other has 2 singles and a foldaway if you need it. Rooms are clean and tidy, maybe a little date, but can't expect the ritz for 70 quid really can you. The complex was very quiet at this time of year, as was the resort on a whole. Great time of year to go if you just want to chill and get over Christmas, but if you're looking for a lively holiday, you'll have to search for the busier bars for this. Sea was warm enough for the brave ones, and pool was the same, but on a night you'll need a cardie and maybe some longer trousers or jeans as it can be chilly. If you stay here and are getting a 2 bedroomed apartment, email them and ask for room 206 as this has a private balcony area that no windows overlook and is perfect for those looking for an allover tan but is too shy to get them out. Overall we love this apartment complex and intend to stay again on our next visit. By the way, we got a kettle, a microwave, a toaster, a dishcloth/tea towel and washing up liquid in our room on our arrival, which we thought was a nice touch.

What a lovely little set of appartments. Basic, but very clean and well set out. Ideal location, only 1 min walk to the beach, shops and resaurants. Appatments are set out in three different blocks no higher than 2 stories, each having their own swimming pool (bit too cold in winter time to swim in) Very well designed. Very near to blackbull and Higlander pubs, both british run and very welcoming. Maid service is daily. Would rate this 6 out of 10 if i could. Well impressed considering waht we paid for one week.

Celeste and Black Bull Pub

11 April 2007
The Hotel Celeste is exactly what you pay for. Cheap and cheerful. We found the apartment to be tidy and clean, with the maids coming in and towels changed every two days.

We've been to the resort a few times before, but this is our first time at the Celeste and we will be returning.

The resort has everything you need as family. It's clean, quiet and safe, with ample eateries and bars. The beach is gorgeous, and only 5 mins walk from the hotel and all amenities.

If you do stay at the Celeste, you must pay the bar below the hotel a visit - The Black Bull.

Put simply, The Black Bull is a really great family pub because it has a really great family at the helm.

From the second you walk through the door, Ron, Susan, Derek and Sharon do everything in their power to make you feel comfortable, relaxed and at home.

The bar itself is spotlessly clean; Ron’s never far away with his cloth to mop up any spills. The toilets are immaculate and never without loo roll – which you’ll know is an absolute pleasure if you’ve ever been to the resort before.

There’s a really friendly atmosphere and impeccable service. Whether you fancy a tasty sandwich, crave a scrumptious snack or have your eye on something a little more fruity, both ladies are a dab hand in the kitchen. And at €7 for adults and €3.50 for kids, the Sunday roast of sirloin is to die for.

If you’re keen on football, you can be sure to catch your favourite team. In fact, you’re often spoilt for choice with two games on at once.

Our two young boys were spoilt rotten. If it wasn’t a free lollipop or ice cream, it was Derek kicking the football around with them outside. Being all pedestrianised outside makes it a perfect place for children to play.

The little touches that you don’t see if many of the other bars in the resort make all the difference too; like the range of daily newspapers, chalk on the pool table, and blinds on the windows.

We spent many a happy hour in The Black Bull’s company during our two week stay at the end of Feb. And we’re looking forward to a few hours more when we next visit in June.

Celeste Apartments? - ‘does exactly what it says on the tin’.
We found these apartment surprisingly well equipped, with all the usual, including kettle and microwave, also a cleaner visited everyday to make beds, empty bins and wash floors etc.  The ground floor apartment was less private than others but as the complex was so quiet it really didn’t matter. It gave us great access to the pool that would have been brilliant had it not been too cold to get in to.  We went off season and didn’t hear any noise from the bars but I can imagine they would be louder during peak season but I guess you take that risk with any complex.
Celeste apartments are in a brilliant location near the beach, bars, restaurants and shops of Costa Teguise and it didn’t take us long to locate a fantastic Tapas bar serving fresh Lanzarote fish and excellent wine.  Renting a car was far cheaper than going on excursions and proved to be very easy if you book it the day before, just bear in mind that the prices stated on the door of 6 euros per day do not include insurance etc.  I think we paid about 65 euros for a VW polo for 3 days, which gave us time more than enough time to do all the major attractions to both the north and south, as well as have leisurely lunches along the way.  In summary, we would definitely go back to these apartments for the price and location you can’t lose.

Review of 'Celeste' apartments

15 February 2007
We were impressed with these apartments. We found the apartments and complex overall fairly clean and tidy. While we were there we had no disturbances or heard no noise from people or the bars outside the complex. These apartments I would recommend for room only and not for the facilities i.e; swimming pools and lounging areas. The reception staff were very helpful and polite. As this is my 5th time returning to Lanzarote, i would rate this hotel as average. Although the location of this hotel is spot on, its in a perfect prime location for Costa Teguise, as it is both between the main centre and smaller centre. At the rear of the hotel is steps to the beach and is within 2mins walking distance of the beach, shops, bars and resturant. Overall I would recommend this hotel to couples or families who would be out and about. Would deffinatly return!

Review of 'Celeste'

Celeste is located in Costa Teguise, which I believe is a strategic area of the island. Whether you just would lie on the beach or if you would like travelling around the island it's in my opinion the best place as it is just in the middle of the island. Celeste is a nice block of apartments, clean and kept in good order. It's a good value for money and as soon as you come out you have the beach at just 200 meters and bar and shops are walking distance too. In the reception (which is not 24ours but provide a good service normally from 8am till 8pm) you can get info about excursions, car hire and staff is very helpful. On the downside in our apartment kitchen area and the bathroom would require a bit of upgrading since they looked clean but a bit outdated. Overall really excellent value for money. The swimming pool is a plus if you don't want to go to the beach. Outside each apartment chairs and sunbeds were found really useful. In January weather wasn't so good and the average of people in the island were elderly people. For German Irish and British customers it's like being at home as there are plenty bars owned and managed by people of their nationality so they would get  full English breakfast, pint of lagers and so on. Finding a true Spanish restaurant it's no easy, but we found two very good. "El Fundadero" was one of them.

excellent location, couldn't have been better. very clean and well equipped, tho we didnt have a kettle( u could hire 1 )good value for money and friendly staff. only downside for us was that the balcony/patios tend to overlook each other rather than a view of sea, sand or street. otherwise was everything we wanted. just to mention, we had a 2 bed apt and u could only get to 2nd bed thro 1st bed...it wasnt a prob. for us but if u were 4 adults...dunno ( also had to move bed to close door!!haha)this may not be the same for all apt tho..ours was 212. would still def reccommend for the money.

We enjoyed our stay in the Celeste apartments, the reception staff were very courtious and we had the bonus of a double balcony so we could sit and sunbathe in privacy all day! The apartments were basic, but very comfortable and cleaned daily. The Highlander pub certainly helped us enjoy our stay thanks to the entartainment of Willie and Liz's cullinary skills! The close proximity to the main square and beaches meant we could have as long or short a stroll as we wished.

Hi there, my wife and I have been to the Celeste Apartments with our daughter on 2 previous occasions and they are absolutely brilliant !! Both times we have been with friends and the pool complex's are just great places to chill out. You can choose from 3 pools to use ,one has a pool bar but the apartments are so close to the pool you can fetch your own refreshments from the fridge as and when yo want them.
The location of the apartments to the town and beach are second to none !! Less than 5 minutes walk and you come across the first bars and restaurants and again its only 5 minutes to the beach via an alley through the complex. This is such a bonus when you have chilren we found as you get none of the persistant moaning of "my legs are tired !! ". Again,5 mins after a lovely evening (at Chispas..cheapest drinking hole on the Iseland by the way ) and the kids are in bed and we were having a lovely beer on the patio. I'd say give them a try...we've just booked to go for another week in Oct 06..cant wait !!!

this is the 4th time we ave stayed in Celeste Apts in the last year. they are beautiful, clean, spacious and really good value for money. the staff in reception are really helpful and speak excellent english as well. the swimming pools are average size but at the shallow end it is quite deep. the cleaners come round every day. the sheets etc are changed twice a week. the celeste apts are very close to a wide variety of restaurants and bars etc. would definetley reccomment these apts to anyone, whether travelling as a couple like i did, families or even groups of friends. we had a brilliant time every time and we WILL be going back in July for 4 weeks to celeste apts.

you will really enjoy yourself here!!!

This was our fourth visit to the Celeste so that tells you something about how we view the celeste and its apartments. Close, but not too close, to the centre of the resort (close emough to walk to shops and restaurants) and even closer to the beach.

The celeste offer a simple friendly and professional service in a quiet location. Suitable for couples and families wanting a reasonably quiet relaxing holiday away from the noise and bussle of resorts such as puerto del carmen etc.

The aprtments are clean and well maintained - again simple - but you have all you need. Staff are receptive and responsive to needs.

A choice of three - clean pools - but only 5 mins walk from main resort beach.

Also within walking distance of four large shops/supermarkets.

15 mins from the airport and only a 15 euros taxi ride.

Excellent place to stay, second time here and very pleased with the location, 2 minutes to the beach, bars and restaurants, easy to find, cleaners worked hard and well. Easy car parking, easy to find, central location. Only criticism is the sheets not changed as per the schedule but otherwise good. Will being going back for more of the same. Didn't use the pools, good for families I should think.
I was allowed to keep my room for an extra 4 hours due to return flight time for no extra charges, nice and efficient people on the desk.
