I have just returned from a night at the Cavendish Hotel.
It is, as you would expect from a 4* hotel, clean with well trained staff.
Our room was big by London standards, but we were bothered by outside noise even though we were on the 12th floor! However, it was very windy and this may have added.
Breakfast was good, but the dining room is too small to cope with large numbers.
The TV in our room didn't work, and the bath was slow to empty.
But service and standard of rooms was excellent.

Me and my Fiancee stayed at the Cavendish recently on a 4 night break.
This was our first time in the capital and the hotel was ideal.
Staff we're friendly, food and service was great but best of all is the location.
The hotel is on Jermyn Street which runs south of Piccadilly a ideal location for theatre land and all the top tourist places.
Piccadilly Circus is only 3-5 minute walk from the hotel and Leicester Sq 5-10 minute walk.
I would definitely stay again and plan to do so the end of this year.
I would go the extra step and take an Exclusive room as they are bigger than standard and the fixtures & fittings are second to none.
The only down-fall for me was the sound-proofing, at the back of the hotel. The generators/air conditioning units outside are noisey to notice but not too noisey to stop you from enjoying your stay.
TIP :- , Fill in the room service menu for breakfast, this gives you a wide choice of over 20 items and lets you enjoy it in your own "quarters" without having to wake yourself up quickly and fight in the resteraunt for seats and food.
A+++++ 10/10

The Cavendish is a newly refurbished but established hotel in the heart of St James's. The modern interior is not just mock quality but quietly assured luxury throughout. Check-in is handled with professionalism and courtesy. You could not want for more in the bedrooms, enormous towels, a hifi, tv, playstation and movies! The airconditioning is quiet and responsive. The breakfast is ample, varied and well cooked. For a centrally located, quiet, comfortable and wel run hotel, I could not recommend it more.
