What our customers say
We stayed at the Plaza Nueva during a long weekend, visiting the Alhambra and some of the many architectural glories of Granada. It was ideally situated for the purpose. From the Plaza Nueva Square buses run every 10 minutes up to the Alhambra (for a nominal sum) and it is a short and leafy walk back down if you are not too exhausted by all the culture-vulturing done on the hill.
Apart from the Alhambra visiting (and you should go at least twice during your stay), buses from the square run to the old Moorish quarter, the Albaicin (but you can walk from the hotel if you feel energetic - it's uphill all the way). This maze of ancient and picturesque Moorish streets is another must-see, but be prepared to walk when once you are there.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful (speaking English if required), and the only thing lacking in the room was some means of making tea, but that was my only regret. Despite being in the heart of the city the noise was not a problem, although we were on the top floor (4th), which may have helped.
The proprietor, who presides over breakfast, was a charming man who made us feel very welcome and gave helpful advice on where to go and what to see. The hotel doesn't do any meals apart from breakfast but the city is teeming with good places to eat and drink, starting in the square outside the hotel. Everywhere in the city was clean and felt very safe, as Granadan families are still wandering about until late at night.
Altogether a great stay and a hotel we would be very happy to return to.
