We have used Catalonia Hotels before, so knew we were on safe ground with the Gaudi, and we weren't disappointed. We stayed 7 nights, visiting our daughter who was working in Madrid for a year. The room was roomy and comfortable, with a superb bathroom - good powerful shower. The only downside was that it looked onto a central courtyard, so there was no view. However, that meant that there was no street noise to disturb us either. The breakfasts were superb. A huge choice of hot and cold items, including gorgeous fresh fruit, as well as a wide range of breads, cereals, cold meats and cheese, cakes, and even sparkling wine! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was ideal for city sightseeing - 3 minutes walk to Sol - and metro nearby. Visiting Madrid again? We would definitely use the Gaudi!
