The hotel retains many of its original Georgian features, such as a splendid period staircases, original plasterwork, striking antique mirrors, crystal chandeliers and open fires. The individually decorated rooms offer a private bathroom, satellite TV, direct dial phone and beverage making facilities. The Castle Hotel has a cosy residents bar and private parking.

The Castle Hotel offers a traditional warm Irish welcome, the staff could not be more helpful.With its Georgian history very evident in its decor and style. Great to see that some things are preserved and maintained in a city that is ever changing. The twin room I stayed in was spacious although the bathroom was a little cramped. Its location made it ideal for my trip with easy access to all the local amenities and places of interest. I would recommend the hotel for a short mid week break or a long weekend as I did, which offers great value for money.
