Thankyou for our lovely stay in your hotel!
The hotel was in a good position to visit venice.
The rooms were spotlessly clean and spacious they were also cool as they have very up to date air con.
Our only gripe was the breakfast it was monotonous and could do with something like eggs and toast to start your day but overall a great and friendly place to stay we would stay again (ps the supermarket helped round the corner and the staff let you keep your things in their fridge)

Enyoable stay in Venice
12 August 2008
We had an enjoyable week in this clean, quiet and attractive hotel. We thought the stone steps and other features were an asset to the hotel. Very close to the bus station for easy access to the airport bus and the water buses were just a few minutes walk away. Breakfast was simple but adequate. However it could be improved by just providing cereal. We found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Railway station and reasonably priced places to eat were within walking distance. Enjoyed staying in a hotel room that didn't have a T.V. Lovely to be away from such things. Would definitely visit this hotel again and would recommend the hotel to anyone.

The hotel is in an ideal position to explore Venice , like on previous reviews the Breakfast is basic but fills the spot until lunch.
It's worth getting the traval pass for the water buses as they are a bargain and the waterbus station is round the corner from the hotel.
One tip is not to use the map of the hotel map of this site as it's rubbish and will confuse you !
I would use this hotel again when I return to this wonderful City.

Quietly-situated hotel close to terminals for buses, trains and water buses. Clean and comfortably-furnished rooms, but walls are indeed paper-thin as other reviewers noted - as we only had guests in the adjoining room for one night it was ok. Matresses were in frames and every move provoked a creak which disturbed us both. Staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was plentiful and very adequate considering that the room was so inexpensive. All in all would recommend the hotel to anyone who wanted a base from which to visit this beautiful city.

Well situated for access to station and busses and vaporetto, but now nearby building works make walking too and from, hazzardous. Clean, warm, friendly staff. However, no lift, many stone steps, very very basic breakfast, no TV, no bar, no lift. Would not visit again. Other bargain hotels are much better equipped.

Easy to find. Near main taxi, train and vaporetto terminals. Room basic but clean and quite spacious. Breakfast basic but filling. Staff pleasant and helpful. Be wary of room 202 if you like a long lay in ! Right underneath the bells, which ring on the half hour from 8AM until 8PM. Good for a cost effective base camp to explore the city from. Get what you pay for. Would use it again.

A good value hotel with friendly and helpful staff. It is well situated near both the bus and train stations which helps when navigating back along the confusing alleys of Venice as both are fairly well signed. The room could have been better soundproofed but it was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. The building has been tastefully renovated. I would use the hotel again and would recommend it to those wanting to be close to the railway station, wanting decent accommodation at a reasonable price and who are happy to be without an elevator and a TV.

We stayed at this hotel last January so knew it was clean and that the staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay because we love Venice and for travelling around the hotel is in an ideal location. What I was really upset about was that I booked a twin room and that is what was on the voucher but we were given a double room .We arrived late evening and were too tired to complain but neither of us sleeps well and it was made much worse by not having twin beds.

Very nice hotel. We were very positively surprised by both hospitably and standard. The only minus (if it could be counted as one) is that the passage under the road was closed so we had to go 100m more up the road :D
As said very pleasant memories from both hotel and Venice itself.

Casa Sant'Andrea is in the perfect location for a trip to Venice. It is situated on a peaceful canalside yet is only 5 minutes away from the bus and train stations with easy access to boat stops on the Grand Canal. There are lots of places to eat very nearby and being two females returning from our evenings out we didn't feel in a threatened area. Our room and spacious en suite were spotlessly clean and towels were changed daily during our seven day visit. The staff were friendly and helpful and there is internet access available in reception. The only downside to this hotel is that there is no passenger lift (only for suitcase conveyance). We had a room on the second floor which meant four flights of stairs. We viewed this as our daily exercise, but for anyone infirm or elderly it could be a problem. We saw no rooms on the ground floor and even for first floor rooms two flights of stairs had to be climbed. But for a hotel with a great location, spotlessly clean and excellent value I would thoroughly recommend it.

Casa Sant'andrea was absolutely SUPERB!! The hotel was in a pefect location, very close to the bus and water bus terminals. The hotel was quiet and peaceful, except for the church bells at 8am!! The room was spacious and clean with an ensuite bathroom that was large and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I even learnt some italian from them! The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast. It was very basic; bread, crackers, jam and weird filled croissants in packets. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and orange juice were also provided. You can walk from the hotel to the other side of Venice in 35 mins, if you don't get lost along the way! If you want value for money at a great location, this hotel is a MUST!!

I found this an excellent hotel, particularly if you are on a tourist visit to Venice and need a good, clean friendly and comfortable hotel as a base with a central location for all connections. I found it really peaceful, even in the late evening, just what you need after a day's sightseeing. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and well presented and the continental breakfast was most adequate and was complimented by a waitress that had a genuine smile first thing in the morning, even at 7.30am when breakfast starts. The building is described as a converted monastery and has an perfect blend of ancient architecture with conventional modern hotel expectations and requirements. Will definitely return here with more of the family next time. My overall comment? Would highly recommend it for your visit to Venice! My only complaint? My bedroom door needed a slight "shoulder" behind it to lock it, and I think I can live with that!!!! Thanks Casa Sant'Andrea for making my visit worthwhile!

Lovely clean hotel, easy to locate as name could be seen from journey into Venice island. Good location for water buses/supermarket/post office, but theres a slightly further walk for St Marks Square and Rialto Bridge.
