the casa 400 is probly the cheapest hotel near amsterdam we had 3 people stay in our room and it was very tight for space. a very shoe box type of room. unless you have the window open at night you will need a fan in the room its boiling in this hotel. watch the hot water you could easily scold yourself it should have a warning about it. you can access amsterdam by train at amstel station or metro again via amstel station. train fare about 3 euro metro less when running there is also a bus number 59 to amsterdam from outside the train station cost about 1 euro 30 cents but takes a while to get there. hope this helps someone out there the hotel staff good cheap and chearful to sum this hotel up.

i do realise that the hotel is one of the cheapest in overated and expensive amsterdam but i dont consider it value for money in comparison with hotels in this country and the rooms were not only very basic and dreary but they never even had the usual tea bags and coffee with  mini kettles which i thought was pretty standard.food in the hotel was below average outside the breakfast which was ok.dont wish to fault the staff who were often helpful

The hotel was very easy to get to, just 10 mins. from Central Station by Metro.  The staff were very helpful and polite. The room was very clean and comfortable.  The food and service was excellent.  The accommodation helped make our break even more enjoyable and we would use it again.
