Review of 'CARLTON ON MADISON'
29 April 2005
I and 5 other friends stayed at the Carlton on Madison for 3 nights. It was very pleasant. The beds were big [Queen] and rooms were clean.
The people working there are friendly from the cleaners to the person who took our bags to the room (a very polite gentleman called LUKE, who went out of his way to make sure our stay at the Carlton On Madison and NYC was a good one).
I would highly recommend this hotel for couples and its not realy aimed at the teens/late teens.
There are 2 reasons why I gave it a 4 instead of 5 - this is because, firstly the maintenance was still undergoing, although this was pointed out before booking. Secondly they didn't have a printer connected to the internet access machine so when we needed to give them our holiday voucher printed off from Alpharooms, we went looking for an internetcafe WITH a printing service - which isn't as easy as you'd think.
I just wanted to point out that most of the New Yorkers who work in touristic areas are not realy from Manhattan or recently moved there, because NO ONE was any good at famous locations, eg:
NO ONE knew where the firestation building is located that was featured in the films Ghostbuster,Ghostbusters2 and Hitch. NO ONE knew where the fountain is located, which was featured in Die Hard 3 (with the 2 water bottles and Bruce Willis and Sam Jackson had to make 4lt of water), to name but two reasons!
But other than that, Carlton On Madison hotel gets a 4 out of 5 and I will definitely go back there if I get a girlfriend.
