How A Spanish Hotel Should Be!!

05 July 2008
Brilliant Hotel for the price. All staff very friendly and helpful. Food outstanding. Hotel in a great position with delightful views. Direct access to the beach. Most of the rooms excellent although we were put in small one when we first arrived (this could have been due to the fact we were a late booking and late arrival), this was changed, on request, as soon as a larger one was available - new room terrific. All in all perfect for us but we do not think it would suit elderly or infirm due to being at top of hill. Also nothing organised for children and if you are expecting english food stay away. Food typically Spanish, plentiful and delicious.

16 May 2008
fab location, and for a two star hotel very comfortable, the price meets that of a two star hotel and yes believe it or not i was not surprised to find spanish in the hotel(one of many comments for hotels in spain) when i went to blackpool last year the hotel was full of english!!!!! would stay there again as i am multilingual and find conversing with spanish, german and italian, great for my languages,

No complaints

12 May 2008
Perfectly situated between old and new towns in its own little square with a charming (and chiming) church. Probably has one of the best outlooks of any hotel/apartment in Benidorm as it is perched on top of a 'rock' with the two beaches sweeping out either side. Ideal for a drink on the terrace after your lunch or evening meal which I thought was a very satisfying and varied menu. Staff are very friendly and most spoke very good english.

good location, but..

21 April 2008
we agree with most of the other comments, but we had a room over looking the side street and the noise from the church, workmen and local spanish youths at a bar opposite was from around 6 in the morning to at least 3 in the early hours

Fabulous Location

21 March 2008
We stayed for 10 days and had a fabulous time. No complaints at all considering the price, perhaps just a suggestion to take a face towel although the towels were changed every single day not all of the towels were "fluffy" ! It's in an excellent position, views are fantastic. Staff very helpful. Food was ok could always find something we liked, and what we expected. It is after all a Spanish hotel with most visitors being from Spain. We will most certainly return much prefered the Spanish atmosphere! a nice to change from the usual "Costas"

Value for money

08 March 2008
My wife & I could have no complaints for the price we paid, also maids & desk staff were hard working, helpful & cheerful. We found the location great as we like a bit of peace (old benidorm) but we also like to let our hair down a bit (new benidorm).as it has ideal access to both. Definitely return again.

Hotel Canfali

18 November 2007
We chose this hotel for the location and it certainly didn't let us down. Hotel staff were pleasent and friendly, rooms were spotlessly clean, food basic but adequate, hill wasn't a big problem. We arrived during the town Fiestas so had a prime spot to see everything all in all had a lovely time at this hotel and would have no hesitation in booking again

Rooms basic but very clean, food excellent, staff very sociable, english guests are very rare, mostly Spanish and italian. location the best. Three beaches within a stones throw, the old town at the door. Away from the tourists! The hotel is on top of the hill from whichever direction you come from, so would not be suitable for everyone. Suited us just fine. Three weeks stay from July 24th to August 14th.

WE HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM A WEEK LONG STAY, BEGINNING OCTOBER. HOTEL ADEQUATE, VERY BASIC BUT CLEAN, ROOM VIEW WAS VERY POOR AS WE WERE RIGHT NEXT TO CHURCH WHICH CHIMED EVERY 15 MINS AND IN A VERY NOISY SQUARE. FOOD WAS OK BUT VERY REPETITIVE SAME THING BASICALLY EVERY NIGHT, STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND PLEASANT AND VERY HELPFUL WHEN NEEDED SET IN BEAUTIFUL OLD BENIDORM BUT ON A VERY STEEP HILL, WOULD NOT RECCOMEND FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE.  ENJOYED AS A RELAXING BREAK BUT WILL NOT BE GOING BACK.

excellent location, so close to old town. We found the bedrooms a little basic--but very clean. A very Spanish hotel so nice to be away from the average British food and the staff at the hotel could not have been more friendly. We also found the selection of tapas bars in old benidorm quite amazing. Really good value for money and will definately be returning. We all wish we had been able to stay longer

Review of 'CANFALI'

Stopped at the hotel canfali for the first time in May 2006 and thoroughly enjoyed are stay.  The hotel has wonderful views of Benidorm and sea front from youre room , but I did notice the
people who didnt have a balcony had quite poor rooms so you need to request a balcony. Go to the top of the hotel and there is a roof top with sun beds and you'll have fantastic views of the resort. The food was repetative and self service but there was always plenty of it.  Staff were very helpfull but be warned dont try to take anything out of the restaurant as you will be told off! We had wine with our meal at night time and when we came to pay at the end of the holiday we were told it was free with our stay! this offer is apparantly up to the middle of June.  The hotel had alot of spanish couples stopping but were very friendly. I would definately go back to the hotel again.

Review of 'CANFALI'

10 November 2005
The Hotel Canfali is a real gem, perched on the rock that separates Benidorm's two beaches and entered via a peaceful pedestrian square bordered by the parish church and with several rooms available that offer magnificent sea, beach and town views by day and night. Staff were efficient and friendly, food was good, rooms well furnished and comfortable. Access to the hotel is via a steepish hill leading from the town or via steps from the beach - possibly a problem for the less able but not for us.
Taxis and minibuses are allowed into the square but not buses so airport transfers may involve some walking.
Our only problem with the Canfali was that one side of our delightful and normally peaceful seaview room was adjacent to the public square on the ground floor and we were kept awake until 3am on the two weekend nights by noisy youngsters. Otherwise I would have given Canfali 100 per cent marks. I'd certainly return but would ask for a room away from the weekend merriment. But thank you Canfali for an excellent week's holiday.

My husband and I have just stayed for a week at this delightful hotel.  The room we occupied was large with a view overlooking the length of the Levante Beach.

There was a friendly atmosphere and the staff very helpful.

The food was excellent considering the price charged and the free wine and water was a pleasant surprise.

The only downside was that the access road to the was hotel very steep and not suitable for the infirm in any way. However a taxi ride up the hill was very reasonably priced.

Overall I would say the hotel was very good value and perfect for a short break.

Brilliant, we had two rooms a triple and a quad and there was ample room in both, the hotel and rooms where very clean. The staff where very friendly and helpful,Pedro used to tell us what was happening and where as there was a fiesta on that week. The food was good we all found something we could eat at meal times, and with 5 children that is usualy a task.
All in all we had a brilliant time and will be returning. If I hadn't already booked next years holidays I would be going back there next year.

Review of 'CANFALI'

13 May 2005
We fancied a cheap break to get away from at least one week of the English winter. We hadn't been to mainland Spain and decided to give it a try.
We were very glad we did, considering this was an extra holiday squeezed in on a fairly tight budget we were absolutely delighted.
The room wasn't huge but it was clean, had comfortable beds, was air conditioned and had a good side view straight down to the sea.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was well cooked and plentiful and a free bottle of local wine was provided at each meal.
One note of caution, this is definitely a Spanish hotel catering mainly, at least while we were there, for Spanish guests. If you expect English food and chips with everything you may be a little disappointed.
All in all we had a fabulous stay and this hotel is definitely on our agenda for a return visit.
