We stayed at this hotel from the first to the eleventh of June 2008, although the staff were very friendly and polite and most spoke english we were the only 2 brits in the hotel, this made communication with fellow guests very difficult and we do like to meet people while we are away. The food on the a/i basis compares pretty well with other hotels we have stayed at, the breakfasts and the sweets in particular were a wow. The drinks were pretty weak. We felt that the entertainment staff could have done more to get people involved in daily activaties although again they were always polite. we would have rated this hotel at more than 3, but for us the lack of other brits to talk to took the shine off it. I do feel alpharooms should have made this clear on their site when advertising this hotel. Other than that we had no problems with alpharooms or the hotel, and would recommend it to anyone looking to just chill out and be on their own.

FANTASTIC. We stayed in a studio apartment but were fully inclusive. Food had an excellent choice of fish, meat, pasta and fresh salad for dinner and tea, with breakfast being cooked bacon eggs etc or just cereal. In all its a fantastic hotel and really good for my 14 month old who enjoyed himself to. The apartments we were in were very clean and cleaners do a grand job. In all 4 out of 5 because lets face it nothing can ever be perfect can it???

The Hotel is located about 3Km from Torremolinos center; that means that you will find a very quiet location. However, to get to the city center, you will have a train/metro - very comfortable that will take you to the village in 5 minutes (1.5 Euros return ticket).
More that an hotel it is a sort of village; there are regular rooms as well as apartments in small buildings (2 flats) in andalusian style. These are recommended for families, since they provide a small cooking area - always usefull. To get to the beach you just have to cross the road! Excellent animation, also appreciated by my sons, for children, teen's and adults. Every night there is a show, many time held by professionals. And buffet is fantastic: luxury breakfast, with eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausages and of course continental style also. For dinner (we had half board accommodation) many kind of meats and fish.
And with Alpharooms we had the best possible price on the market. In summary: an unforgettable experience.

We stayed in the camino real for the first two weeks in July 2005, we have two teenagers and a 6 year old. This is our second year there and we love it. It is spotless and staff are helpful. It is beside Los Almos Train station and the service is great. If you like you can get train from Malaga Airport to Los Almos, its only three stops. The Train service goes to Torrmellinos. Benamadena and Fuergerla. The only minus is the price of drink in the hotel two vodkas with orange €12 (euro) . But there are small bars outside beside pizza restaurant and the drink is very reasonable. The walk along the promenade is very nice.

I stayed in camino real from june 29th to july 9th
the first 3 days we stayed in the hotel on a half board basis and the next week was spent in the apartments self catering.
the food in the hotel i would rate at about 7 out of 10.
the self catering was very nice we had a ground floor apartment 1 bedroom and a studio on the 2nd floor. the studio was very bright and airy as was the apartment.
the pool area was really nice and there were plenty of sunbeds and one good thing I liked was they had a man on duty taking towels off sunbeds that people had left there in the early morning and gone off leaving them unattended. the towels were removed and the beds given to people that were actually there looking for one. although there are a lot of apartments you would not hear a sound at night and there was a security guard patrolling grounds every night - this made us feel very safe.
the apartments are outside of torremolinos but the bus stops right outside the pool gate and only costs 1 euro per person, but coming home from torremolinos you must take a taxi or train as the buses stop at 9 30 pm. if you want to go to benalmadena or fuengirola you can use the train - los alomos station is only 5 minutes from the camino and they run every half hour with the last one leaving fuengirola at 00 20 am.
well what more can I say - we had a very enjoyable holiday the only drawback being that we had 3 teenagers aged 13 to 15 and there is not an awful lot for them to do on site but having said that they met up with a lot of other teenagers on site after the first few days and they just made their own entertainment playing in pool and they were able to bring their stereo over the big area beside reception and play their music and there was not problem with this at all. sometimes the staff on reception would have a little dance around with them.
I would definitely recommend the camino, I was there 6 years ago and the best change for me since then is that they have installed air conditionig which makes it much more pleasant.
the grounds are absolutely lovely and very well kept - I don't think I saw one piece of litter for the 10 days I was there.
