Cambrils Playa

the hotel was fine, i went with my partner and my sister and her husband and their two kids. i had a great relaxing holiday. it was situated away from the hussle and bussle of salou, yet only a short bus ride away which was only aroung €1.40. the hotel itself was clean and the decor was up to dateish. the rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels were put in the rooms. our room was lovely as their was only the two of us. my sister and her family were next door. their room was the same size as ours but it had 4 beds in it whereas we only had the two. therefore, it was very cramped. they also had a problem with ants in their room even though we were on the 4th floor. i found the reception staff were not very friendly but the travel rep was english and she was very helpful to us throughout our stay. the pool and terrace area was marvellous. what we liked about it was there was nobody looking at you and taking any notice. it was very relaxed. we went all inclusive and it really was all inclusive, we didnt have to pay for one thing while we were inside the hotel. the bar service was great and you can get almost any drink you want. the quality of the food was excellent and the amount of it was unending. however, there wasnt a great selection for those who have plain tastes or for kids. they put sauces on absolutely everything which didnt really suit me or the kids. they catered more for the spanish where the foos was concerned but there was a snack bar there where you could get chicken nuggets, chips, hot dogs, toasted sandwiches or burgers. we found the entertainment just ok. the kids found the kiddies disco each night great but the shows were a bit lame and also catered more for the spanish people. overall, i thought it was a brilliant holiday as we only wanted to relax but if you are looking for a bit of craic i wouldnt recommend it as very few english speaking holiday makers were there, it was full of spanish and french holidaymakers.

Just back from two weeks in the Cambrils Playa Hotel. We were very sceptical before we left after reading other reviews about this hotel. One review said the staff were not very friendly and could not speak English. Not true. We found them very friendly and helpful. Another said how bad the food was. Once again not true. There was a vast array of different foods every day and certainly something to suit everyone. Also the pool area was cleaned every day and no problem getting a sun bed at any time. The rooms are a little small with four single beds in our room, (cleaned every day) but the way we looked at it was this is were we shower and sleep. All in all this was a smashing holiday and somewhere we will go back to again and again. The Moore’s June 2008

We are just back from a weeks stay at the Playa..We were nervous as there hadnt been any reviews on Alpharooms so here goes |Fly into Reus and a taxi takes about 15 mins ..€35 and you are there..firts impressions are quiet good..the receptionist was very pleasent ..got to our room ( a bit small for 2 adults and 2 children)we had requested a cot ,wasnt there so had to pay €6 a night ..a bit steep,never had to pay for a cot elsewhwere Food...breakfast and lunch were very good to be honest....a good selection for breakfast and a bottle of wine with your lunch..diner was probably the worst meal as the variety wasnt as good...however there were snacks (toasted sandwiches,burgers and chips)in between lunch and dinner.We ate out a dew eveings as the selection for the children(one who was 5 and the baby 13 months) wasnt good. there was endless amount of drinks during the day and the bar shuts at midnight on the dot(lights out literally) Cleanliness..the rooms were clenaed daily and the towels changed daily so top marks.. Entertainment/Activities....wasnt great due to teh fact the hotel was quiet...the hotel was nearer to Cambrilis Port than Salou so the further you went from Salou the quiter the hotel..we went to some other hotles for there entertainment..but our kids and the other couple we were with kids were encouraged to join in in shows etc..mini discos .later in the season this may be better Pool ...again the hotel was quiet so no problem getting sun loungers Overall id give the hotel 3.5 out of 5 ...if you want a relaxing holiday with very little noise after midnight ,,half decent food,plenty of drink ,this hotel is woth considering,there is a bus stop outside and its only 10 mins either way to Salou or Cambrils Port.. We defintely got our moneys worth even if we ate out a few nights..
