Better for 1 week than 2

26 July 2008
Stayed here early July08. The accomodation is basic, cheap and nasty fittings, microwave and rings No oven. Small bathroom but clean with plenty of hot water. Pool is very small for size of resort, first week was not too bad 2nd week was too crowded. Very few sunbeds. Staff good, kids entertainmnet good. Caleta is very small, not much night life after 10pm, bit bored in second week.

Caleta gardens are to my opion a very good stay very cheap and friendly staff . Spotless clean ,maybe dated but who cares as you only sleep in the hotel. fresh towels dailly sheets linnen every other day so how could you complain. Tony the entertainer was very good with the kids. Pool also very clean and not freezing. Had a great time, will go back again for sure.

Extremely noisey

08 April 2008
We stayed here on a short Easter break. If we had stayed any longer than 4 nights I think we would have to had moved hotels. The noise in this hotel is loud, not only from the bar which is open until 4 am but the hotel itself magnify`s the sound so you can hear everything in the surrounding rooms and beyond. I have to say the lay out of the building made me feel like I was in a prison (not that I`ve been in prison). Just remember it is budget accomodation and you get what you pay for, would I go back ? never in a month of Sundays!

Caleta Gardens

31 March 2008
I have used this Hotel several times as a base to explore Fuerteventura. It is ideally located, with easy access to the road system and Airport. The resort of Caleta De Fuste offers a good variety of Holiday entertainment and dining ,which is literally within metres of the doorstep. Accomodation is basic and clean, and I have found the staff very helpful. As a base the furthest point on the island (on tarmac) is a leisurely 60 mins, Tarmac and offroad (ondirt-track) can add about another 60 minutes max. depending on your driving skill. I will use Caleta Gardens again.

A cheap, nice hotel. Not the best but the staff are nice and friendly. Only complaint (except that the hotel looks very old..) is the cleaning and that water was pouring down on our terrace from the jacuzzi or whatever is on the top of the hotel. but for this price you know what you get....

Myself and my 8 year old daughter have just returned from a weeks stay at the Caleta Gardens. The accomodation is basic and showing the signs of wear & tear but like other people have already said for the price you pay there was nothing really to grumble about. The staff were very nice although I think they could do with a few more. At times the bar was completely unattended because the one member of staff was having to clear away all the breakfast items in the dining room. Aziz who works behind the bar in the evening deserves a special mention as he is very friendly and helpful. My daughter did not want to leave as she enjoyed the entertainment provivded by Tony and although it may be a bit corny the kids love it and it keeps them happy, which means the parents usually get a break. I know that I felt like I'd had one which is really important when you are a single parent. There is a shortage of space around the pool and because certain areas only get the sun at certain times of the day (because of the design of the place)there was a lot of putting towels out early on even when the sunbeds weren't in use which is frustrating, and the people responsible were all British!! No Germans at this hotel!! That said the hotel is very centrally located and the beach is only a short walk away. If you prefer a longer walk the beach further round the bay near to the Atlantico shopping center is much nicer and both beaches are ideal for small children. We stayed B&B and there was a good selection to choose from. It wasn't haute cuisine but for the price lots to choose from the buffet. Our favourite restaurant to eat out at was Fado Rock just a few metres from the hotel. Go early in the evening if you can as it does get very busy after 8pm and the waiters work flat out to try and keep up with everything. All in all a really good break at a good price (flights booked with ryanair) and would go back again and reccomend to all those who are due to go there.

fantastic xmas 2007

31 January 2008
we had a fantastic stay here from 22dec 07 til 5th january 08 the rooms are clean and tidy the maid service is excellent. There was a bit of trouble here on xmas night some idiots caused mass upset and panic fortunately we were up in our room getting ready for a night out so didnt get bothered by it, must say however the garda arrived and the idiots involved were arrested and deported. No wonder the english get a bad name fancy causing trouble in a hotel full of children on christmas day to those involved i hope your proud of yourselves!! Apart from this incident our stay was fantastic we tended to go out of the hotel for entertainment as we met people and after the trouble didnt want to chance it as some of the party the troublemakers were with were still there although they never caused any more trouble. The hotel management were full of apologies and couldnt do enough for you. Dont let this put you off in general its a lovely friendly place pool areas are lovely i really havent got anything bad to say about it. Its not the ritz yes its in need of modernization but its not the Ritz prices either its cheap clean accomodation right in the centre so close to everything. we'll definately be going back in fact our friends who came for a week at christmas went back there today for another week. So anybody whose booked to go take it from me its clean got everything you need and youll have a lovely time. Some people who have moaned on here expect 5 star accomodation for peanuts well its not 5 star but its clean n comfy thats all that matters when youve got glorious weather and a lovely beach.

We enjoy our stay in Caleta Gardens. The apartment was comfortable and well equiped. The staff, friendly and helpfull. The room was clean and tidy, towels changed daily. My only compain will be the noise. Noise from the bar's music until 12:30 pm, loud chat from the staff cleaning the pool early in the morning. Otherwise we are quite satisfied.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on our second visit to Caleta Garden. The hotel staff were extremely helpful while we were there. The hotel does not have the most modern facilities, however it is extremely clean and centrally located. We are looking forward to our next short break later this year.

Excellent, just returned after staying in caleta gardens for 2wks, Tony the entertainer was sound, very good with the kids (tell him Robyn said hello) the staff were very friendly, and the place was spotless clean, cleaners came in every 2 days and changed bedding and towels, the only problem I had was the work that was being done outside my apartment, drilling early in the morning until afternoon, apart from that I would recommend the Caleta Gardens to anyone, great place and great entertainer. Definately going back there before the year is over

Brilliant!

18 June 2007
just returned from caleta gardens. didnt want to leave. We had the best holiday ever. i asked for a quiet room and thats what i got. Cleaners did above and beyond the call of duty.Theres a guy , Tony, there to entertain the kids, they loved him. We had 10 and 15 year old girls with us.I'm hoping to go back before the summer is over, but i would definitely avail of their half board offer for 90 euros which would be worth it. Only negative thing i can say is, there was building work being carried outside my sisters room and this woke them in the morning and continued for most of the day.if you are going self catering get a taxi (3.50 euros) up to Atlantica where there is eurospar and stock up on supplies, we should have done that. Other than that, yes, i would definitely recommend it!

value for money

09 May 2007
Not an expensive Hotel but you do get value for money. We spent 4 nights here for a very reasonable sum and I was surprised how clean and well run the Hotel was.You can come and go as you please, no one makes a fuss unless you required something extra, then the staff were more than willing to help. Was a bit difficult trying to get to sleep some nights , but I think we were probably in bed too early and should have been out partying like everyone else.I will definately be looking to use Alpha rooms in the future, will check other destinations with them too.

The Caleta Garden is in a brilliant location, pubs, restaurants, shops & beach all within minutes and only 10 mins from the airport. The accomodation is very clean as is the whole complex. Apartments cleaned daily and towels changed daily. Staff are lovely and there is day & night entertainment. The bed wasn't great , you could feel springs sticking up and I would be a bit concerned about the lack of security as there have been a few break ins. I have stayed there twice and both times there have been break ins. Make use of the apartment safes (extra charge but well worth it). Overall it is a nice place to stay for the price and the reception staff are very good at trying to accomodate your needs. They let us change apartment to a quieter area without any fuss.

Could have been perfect

18 January 2007
The Caleta Garden was in a good position close to all amenities and beach.  Accommodation was good, price about right, staff very friendly and helpful.  Unfortunately there was a lot of work being caried out, refurbishment of several rooms throughout complex and also new roofs being added. Very noisy during day. Also due to nature of layout the bar area noisy at night for many of the apartments.  All that said, without building work, it would have been very enjoyable.  Would stay again.

the caleta gardens are in an excellent location within caleta de fuste, there are plenty of nice restaurants and shops and it is within walking distance to the beach. the staff were friendly and the cleanliness of rooms were very good.
generally all areas of the apartments need modernising, beds are uncomfortable and everything looks old and worn out. there is no air conditioning. the pool bar is open till late at night and is very loud, you can hear the noise anywhere in the complex, if you like peace and quiet this is not the place to stay. also during our stay there was building work starting early in the morning and finishing late. this work looks as if it will be going on for a while to come yet.

Absolute nightmare!  Will never stay here again! Apt was ok but it was above the 'Havana' bar! We had requested a quiet room and on arrival thought 'yes' lovely and quiet. That was until we returned to our apt after our night out! Music louder than loud until 4.30am!!!!!!!!!! On complaining we were told they couldn't move us, they were fully booked, but if it happened again to phone reception in the night.  Did that the following night but got a security guard who could not speak english! The music continued till 4am, next night/morn 6am! Reurned home knackered! Met another couple at airport who had moved to another hotel after a week there! Glad we only had a week!   Just don't go there! and if you have already booked, good luck, you can manage to catch up on a little sleep during the daytime, but that's if the kids in the next apt are
out and you don't mind missing the sunshine!

Apartments excellent - well equiped, fantastic location in the resort, full range of entertainment on site & helpful / friendly staff. Surrounded by restaurants. Been to the resort before but would definitely stay in Caleta Gardens again. Big find this time was the 1 euro bus trip from the main road at the top of the resort to the airport door (!) instead of the 13 euro taxi fare! Seems we picked the week for clouds & bits of drizzle but still managed to pick up an xmas tan!

Absolutely fabulous at Caleta Gardens, better than we expected due to the down rating from a 3star to a 2star. No difference noticed, all the staff were polite and the maid service was second to none.Clean towels almost every day, beds changed every 2-3days, it was so frequent it was hard to keep a check on it. very clean apartments.
Entertainment from the Ransom family was terrific especially Brians guitar playing and Jools one woman shows, just fabulous. (what a talented family they all are including young matthew, a quality rep in the making i am sure.)
Dining out was plentiful which includes indian, mexican, chineese to name a few. Spoilt for choice within a very short walk from any direction from the front of the building.
We managed to feed the chipmonks at the see front for the first year, this is our third visit to Caleta Gardens and never knew they existed until we were told by the rep at the accommodation!
Try to avoid the time share touts from Chipmonk Mountain resort with the old scratch card game and the oh so obvious win!!
I would just like to say if you have any doubts about this beautiful part of the island, fear not, what more could you wish for when you have fantastic weather, great accommodation, good facilities, well managed and a fabulous entertainment crew.
See you again Caleta Gardens.

This was a fantastic holiday for us having two children both under 7 it was great.  Days were spent either at the pool, or on the beach which was only a few minutes walk away.  The evenings were great too because everything you needed was across the road including a bank.  There is plenty of restaurants to suit everybody's taste after eating we were then ordered by our children to be back at the hotel for 9pm for the mini disco with Al.  Everything was great about this hotel have no complaints at all.

Review of 'CALETA GARDEN' THE GOOD & NOT SO GOOD

26 October 2005
I booked a holiday at short notice in the Caleta Gardens, it was very good value for the cost. Studio apartment was more than adequate, clean & well serviced by pleasant staff. No entertainment the week I was there.(D.J.was on holiday)not a great problem as there was more than enough to suit everyone locally. One serious critism, on the morning of my departure I had an early flight which meant a 6.30. a.m. checkout. When I left my room on the second floor the whole hotel was in pitch darkness,(not an emergency exit light to be seen). I managed to groped my way along a corridor and down two sets of stairs across a courtyard into reception, where I asked the porter to switch the lights on,he could not help saying they came on later automatically. I then borrowed a torch to go back to my room for luggage. I am an active 67 year old but shudder to think what could have happened if I had fallen.
But that apart I had a very good holiday.

We stayed at the Caleta Gardens in July 05 and we had an excellent holiday. The apartment was clean and well equipt and the staff were very friendly, from the cleaners to the receptionists. Kids of all ages will ejoy these apartment from toddlers to older teenagers. The resident enterainer DJ Al is great and he never pressures anyone to do anything they don't want to. The apartments are ideally located with great places to eat all around them. There was a very friendly atmosphere and everyone seemed to say hello. All in all we had a great time in the apartments and resort, Oh the beach is great too!

I came to caleta gardens with my mum as it was a present for me finishing my exams and i can tell you it was the best present. I only come home yesterday. My mum had already stayed in caleta gardens 4 times before so she knew aziz and the other staff. I found our room small but was nice and the shower was easy to use. The hotel was very clean and our room was cleaned on a regular basis, we were only 5 mins away from the beach. The staff were very good and the entertainment was excellent especially for children. We didn't try the food but the views, people, drink and service were very good. I also met a lad called makki who worked as bar staff at the hotel and he was very polite and hardworking. I am missing caleta gardens like mad and would do anything to still be there, I am definitely going there again next year. I would certaintly advise you to stay there as it is soo nice and friendly... please please stay at caleta gardens!!!!

We have stayed at Caletta Gardens twice and enjoyed both our stays.Caletta Gardens is a super family hotel, there are lots of children and yes it can get a bit loud but the bar closes at midnight. We found the entertainment very good with Big AL and his crew lots to do all day.We had basement rooms at the back very quiet and because they are below ground level they are much cooler.Last year I recomended it to my daughter and husband and grandson and they also enjoyed it.I booked it for her with Alpharooms and saved £200 on the high street price. So if you like a place with lots to do,not far from beach close to shops and bars with good entertainment give Caletta Gardens a try.

Review of 'CALETA GARDEN'

15 April 2005
Caleta Garden is old fashioned, cramped and not very comfortable.  Many of the apartments were overlooking the bar/terrace area over 3 floors and looking onto the pool area - so close in fact that the sun beds were directly ourside your patio area if you had one of these apartments. Privacy was non existent for people.  Fortunately my apartment was on the opposite side of the bar/terrace area which afforded some degree of privacy. However my patio was so enclosed with a high wall on the outer side that you could only look at walls and therefore had very little sun entering the patio area. The apartment had a 'half bath' (would have been very useful if I was a Dwarf!!) and a shower which I was unable to adjust. We had a studio apartment which is supposed to be able to accommodate 3 people.  Realistically it was too small to even accommadate 2 people comfortably.  I would have serious reservations about overall hygiene standards of the apartment block as late at night all types of noises indicated that we might not exactly have been alone.  Towels were threadbare however they were regularly changed as was the bed linen.  Entertainment was geared to families to the extent of annoyance, starting at 1.00pm every day if you were sitting round the pool with music blaring.  Nite time entertainment was also geared entirely towards families. So all told it appears that their appeal if for a family market.  While there are a good variety of restuarants on the same street it is obvious this is an older part of the town and is loosing its appeal.  Feurtaventura is a wonderful place to take a break where the only thing you want is guaranteed sunshine and a stay in a comfortable, relaxing environment.  To achieve this type of holiday again I would not be staying in Caleta Gardens.
