just returned from a week in Cala Dor, staying at the Cala Gran. When we booked this holiday through the travel agent, we didnt know that there were two hotels in one, the Cala Gran and the Costa Del Sur, it looked as though they used to be two separate hotels that have been joined together. The main hotel (Cala Gran) was very nice, clean and quite traditional, although we didnt see the rooms. However the Costa Del Sur just didnt seem to have the same appeal. Our room was in the Costa Del Sur and it was very basic, rooms were not cleaned on a daily basis and the beds were made once during our stay, also the towels were almost threadbare! On a positive note the staff were friendly and the food was good. After staying at a 3* hotel last year in Majorca (which was excellent) we were disappointed this year, we didnt feel that it warranted a 3* rating. We would definately return to Cala Dor, an excellent resort with lovely beaches and the evenings were lovely with plenty of choices of bars, but would not return to this hotel.
