Value for money
17 July 2008
Well what can i say i have read the other reviews on here and for the person that had there i-pod stolen maybe you should have hired the safe thats already in the room thats wht they are there for and they were not that much to rent foe a week. We too had a slight ant problem but if you dont leave clothes or food on the floor they dont come in. I've been in a lot of cheap accomodation before but i was very happy with what we got for the money we paid. Not quite a bungalow as it has a ground floor and a 1st floor but you have a small garden in every apartment a walk in wardrobe minus the hangers and loads of room. All very basic but when your eating out most nights who cares. All you need is a bed and somewhere clean to wash. The pool gets very busy at weekends as the spanish come for mini breaks so get your towel at the pool by 9 on a lounger, sometimes the english have to be german ha ha. Martin & Patrick the gay couple with the pool bar were hillarious and will send you to some of the must see spots and both as trained chefs there food is lovely. If you like basic this is the place for you

Found it very noisy as was near the pool area. However was lucky -they agreed to move us to a quieter spot which happened to be a two bedder so was rewarded. Long walk to beach -hit a heatwave 35C but otherwise ok. Take a kettle. Liked the the garden. One there for sale but said to be 150K

The apts are very basic but good value for money. But we did somtimes have a problem with ants though. It is abit of a walk to the centre buts its only 3 euros in a taxi, which are easy to get. There is a little pool bar in the hotel with nice food and the guys who own it are brill and will always help you answer any questions and tell you the best places to go. These guys dont actually work for the hotel, ther pool bar is there own buissness, but the people who actually work for the hotel are pathetic so if you have any problems your on your own. My brand new £120 ipod was stolen from our room it was the only day we didnt take it out as we were going to the waterpark. our room was always locked and our valubles put in our suitcase with a lock on it, but one day we were rushing and i left my ipod out we came back and it was gone. Not wanting to accuse the only people who could get in our room when it was locked we had the place upside down looking for it but it was gone and we knew who did it.We repoted this to the manager but he did nothing, the way he treted us was disgusting. So be warned do not leave anything valuble on sight keep it locked up otherwise you wont see your valubles again.

OK for the money
19 February 2008
We have stayed here before and asked for a specific location when booking and this was done (10/10). There was various equipment missing but this was soon provided. Cleaning was a bit sporadic. Also there were ants though very small ones and they soon went if you kept food secure. May main view is these could be fabulous bungalows but due to their very basic equipment and furnishing they are just ok. Very nice to have ones own garden.

15-20 min. walk to all the sights & sounds
16 February 2008
We took bus 66 from the airport to save money. First impression of Marbella Golf was irritation: We couldn't find it! The complex is NOT where their address places it on the map, so we were lost and needed to ask for directions. This is not a problem if arriving by taxi because they all know where it is.
As for the accommodation itself: Nice and quiet. Our unit was clean and 98% bug-free (amazing!), and cleaning was *almost* every day with only ONE towel change during our week -- that could have been better.
All in all, a great place to stay for the price. We'll check prices for other places but just might end up there again.

22 September 2007
When we arrived (3 of us) the Marbella Golf was not expecting us! Not sure who as at fault whether Alpharooms or the hotel. However, it was quickly sorted and the friendly guy on reception found us a room near the pool. Nothing much to add to what's already been said. Basic but fine for a week's sunshine. Within 10 to 20 mins walking distance of shops/bars etc and 20/25 mins to beach. Pool area got very busy whilst we were there due to local holiday and all bungalows seemed to be full but you can get a bit of peace and quiet in your own garden. We saw no cockroaches in our rooms, just a couple of ants on the first night which were easily got rid of. Towels changed 3 times. Would recommend if you need a quick cheap break just don't expect anything too fancy and you won't be dissapointed.

Marbella Golf Appts June 2007
08 June 2007
I have to say - I have just returned from a stay at the Marbella Golf Bungalows and was treated very nicely. The bungalows are very spacious, unfortunately no kettle but hey you can bring your own or hire one! Never saw any ants inside the appt or any cockroaches and things like that usually would freak me out. The cleaning was carried out EVERY DAY which included the towel changes and beds made, the linen on the beds was changed three times in my week stay. The cleaners were all very pleasent and kept appartments clean. Again, as stated in other comments, taxi to yumbo was approx 2.5 euros - 3.00 euros depending on time of travel and to maspalomas was 4.00 euros during daytime. Overall an excellent value property. By the way - the security is excellent - CCTV and locked gates that you have keys to - so keeps the rif raf out!!! Also, what ever time i seem to arrive home - there was always a security guard wandering round checking the gates. One more thing - Late Check Out. If you ask of the morning of departure at Reception, late checkout is possible cost 30 euros and keep room until 10pm.
I am just now looking to book again, and will be staying here.

Marbella Golf Apts May 07
09 May 2007
Very nice budget apartments with your own little back garden a couple of sun beds, patio table & chairs.Nice swimmingpool with plenty of sunbeds. Maid changed towels and bedding 3 times during the week we were there, no problems with ants ,had a couple of cockroaches, but took ant / insect spray with us . Cooking facilties a bit sparse just 2 electric rings & fridge no kettle we again brought our own. No problems with hot water ,word of warning hot water gets scalding hot in seconds !! The only downside we felt it was a bit faraway from beach and centre of Playa del Ingles 4 euros by taxi to Maspalomas beach and 3 euros to Playa del Ingles beach, there was always a taxi outside Sunwing Hotel, i would say its a good 15 mins stroll to Yumbo centre where there are plenty of nice resturants & bars to sit and people watch!!!!. All in all these are good apartments ideal for couples and singles of all ages.

Marbella Golf: Top Rate BUDGET Accom
08 May 2007
Not sure about the previous cooorespondents, Mr Maguire, Dundalk, experience...must just have been an off week. I have now chosen this BUDGET accommodation for a second time, and believe me I am a difficult person to please so these bungalows must be doing something right. My experience , April/may 2007 was the complete opposite of Mr Maguires...i had endless hot water and the maid service visited 3 times per week, each time changing bed linen and towels.
It is important to bear in mind that this is BUDGET accommodation and therefor you should not expect the Carlton Ritz or Hilton experience. However, this is without doubt the best BUDGET accommodation that I have used. The oute into the complex may fill you with some trepidation as the former Sunwing complex in front of the Marbella Golf is currently receiving a full structural refurbishment and looks and sounds like a building site...However, don't worry once inside the marbella golf it is an oasis of calm. Previous reviews well document the great value for money find that this place is and certainly all the psitives outweigh any negatives which are minor e.g. no kettle for teamaking ( remember that these facilities cater for all nationalities and not everyone is english/british and wants a cup of tea.
For the first time i also booked shuttle bus airport transfer through Alpharooms and this went smoothly and with no problems. Finally , I will indeed be using Alpharooms and Marbella Golf, without hesitation, in the future

Review of 'Bungalows Marbella Golf'
16 April 2007
On arrival at 3.00am after a very long day travelling,(CWL-LHR-MAD-LPA) I was not at all impressed with what I saw of the Marbella Golf Bungalows. I felt as though I had come to some hovel in the back of beyond!!!!!!!. Later that day after a good nights sleep I realised that my friends and I had actually been booked into a 'GEM' of a place. The little bungalows were clean and well presented. Plenty of space. We stayed in a two bedroom bungalow which had two bunkbeds downstairs and a double bed upstairs. The Reception staff spoke excellent English, unlike our terrible Spanish. They were helpful and very welcoming. The Pool is more than adequate to swim in and the little poolside bar kept us refreshed !!!!. For the price that you pay this complex is exceptional value for money. I would definately stay there again. Sometimes you get lucky sometimes not . This place is a real find, but for how much longer? Dont tell too many British people about it !

Ignore the building work at the top of the street ( they are redeveloping a run down hotel) and allow yourself to be taken down to this lovely, simple and great value for money little oasis. If you are looking for cheal and cheerful, somewhere to put your head down bewteen going to the beach and bars this is for you. 10 minute walk to the Yumbo Centre and less than 10 in a cab to the beach ( which costs 2.5 euros). Neat little pool on site if you can't be assed with the sand and you can arrange most trips etc from the really friendly reception staff

Pleasant clean house
24 February 2007
Very nice compound, feels safe, My house had 2 beds in bedroom upstairs, next to bathroom, one double sofa-bed in living room-kitchen downstairs, opening onto patio with table and chairs and sunbed, then a small hibiscus-lined garden.
There is also a good sized balcony outside the bedroom, which will easily accommodate a mattress and is sunny all day. There is a handy supermarket a few minutes away, stocking a reasonable range of tinned and fresh foods, booze, breads, fruit and veg. 3 cups saucers and plates, a frying pan and saucepan were in the kitchen.

The Bungalow was great, clean and comfortable.
The only little thing that I didn´t like it was that it was a bit far away from the beach, but there are plenty buses and cheap taxis going up and down all the time.
Restaurants, shopping centers and supermarkets are just 5 min. walking from the bungalows.
The swimming pool was nice, clean and not very busy.
I will come back again, that is the most important!!!!

Review of 'Bungalows Marbella Golf'
27 December 2006
On arriving at Reception, we were greeted by a pleasant and friendly member of staff who spoke very good English. On reflection, he gave us probably the best located bungalow on the site.
It was quite novel to have an apartment type accommodation with an upstairs, all of the rooms were of a good size, and the beds were comfortable.
The bungalows have a balcony upstairs, and a small but adequately sized terrace/garden area downstairs. These were a bit of a sun-trap, and it was nice just to wander in and out of the bungalow for an ice-cold drink when needed.
Even the maids were pleasant, and provided change of towells wihout prompting. The kitchen area is adequate, we brought our own kettle which speeds up your early morning brew!
Bungalows Marbella Golf are located in a quiet area of Playa del Ingles but was only about a 10 minute walk to the Yumbo Centre. We did not have any traffic noise at all, which to me is very important for a good night's sleep.
There is a handy Spar shop at the top of the road for all your esentials, which was always open when we needed it. The bus-stop is not too far away either.
All other staff from reception we met were also very friendly and helpful who again spoke very good English. I would like mention that these were the most helpfull staff that I have ever come across on any holiday I have ever taken. 'Thank you' very much, Paco for your help and advice.
We will definitely book again, maybe for sometime in 2007.

After reading reviews wished we hadn't booked but all was fine. For what we paid apartment was fine, well used but clean. On a night was very quiet. Out of 7nights we had the cleaner 5 times and towels were changed each time, had a few ants from garden but after quick spray didn't see them anymore. The rough track full of dog dirt didn't exist it was all tarmaced. The Sunwing Hotel was a bit iffy but it was being completly renovated so when that's done it will be fine. Is a bit way out from Playa Del Ingles but taxis are so cheap it dosent matter we used to walk there and get taxi back.

Review of 'Bungalows Marbella Golf'
14 November 2006
First impressions of the Marbella Golf Bungalows were mixed. Although the bungalow was very spacious with a lovely private garden with table chairs and sun bed’s, large balcony leading from the bedroom on the first floor, I found the kitchenette was very poorly equipped, not even a kettle was supplied for that all important cup of tea when you arrive. Most things however could be hired at a price.
I found that a lick of paint wouldn’t go a miss to brighten things up and also the bathroom was a bit mouldy in places. The bed sheets and towels were blue which failed to hide a few stains etc…. the use of white towels and bed linen would have been better as it would show they were clean. These are things that can be easily rectified. The one really negative thing I found was the security on the patio door leading to the garden. Although you turned the key if you pulled hard enough it would open so I advise that you pay for a safe to keep your passports and valuables in. This will cost you 27 Euros which 15 Euros you get back at the end of your stay.
To finish on a high note, despite the above points we all had an enjoyable stay. It is within a 10 minute walk from the Yumbo and about a 20 minute walk to the beach. If you don’t fancy the walk it’s only a couple of Euros by taxi or there’s the local buses but we never used them so can’t say much about them. The pool isn’t the biggest but it does the job and the last thing you need is a 20 minute walk to the beach when you have a raging hangover. The people are all very polite and friendly and as long as you are aware of what to expect there is no reason why you shouldn’t have a pleasant stay.

This was my first venture into making our own holiday package up and was a tremendous success. It was very easy to book through Alpharooms and proved to be a real bargain. The site is very well laid out and the apartments are very nice with a good sized room on the ground floor with kitchen area with a table and chairs and a bed settee and chair. Upstairs there was a bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and bidet. a good sized bedroom with twin beds two bed side cabinets and a large wardrobe. There was also a large cupboard at the top of the stairs which had a safe in. There was a patio and garden on the ground floor and a balcony on the first floor. The pool area in the middle of the complex and was very well kept as were all the pathways. The pool bar was adequate but wasn't always open. The complex was very easy to find by car from the GC 500 road and is a 10 to 15 minute walk from the Yumbo Centre which is the main centre for Playa Del Ingles. Buses ran from the square just at the top of the complex to get down to the Maspalomas beach and back. All in all this was a great holiday and all four of us said we would definitely go back.

My friend and I stopped in the Marbella Golf in March 2006 10th onwards. We thought the bungallow was huge. Big well fitted kitchen and lounge diner. Sky TV, with two very well spaced bedrooms. One upstairs. The bathroom was very clean and always well maintained. We had clean towels regularly. Large terraces on both floors, as well as lovely garden and access to pool. Very private accomodation. Your own little Villa. The hotel reception staff were fantastic, even when we bothered them one early morning for a spare key. The price was excellent. We liked it that much. We have re booked for the 4th Nov 2006 onwards for 9 nights. Cant wait to come back. We holiday in Gran Canaria a lot, and have recommended to friends several times. Bungallow would suit a small family or group of friends. That want somewhere cheap but very well furnished and clean and accessable. Close to all the nightlife and not too far from the beach.

Review of 'Bungalows Marbella Golf'
11 October 2006
We arrived end of Septemebr 2006 and were quite surprised with the apartments. We had two, next door to each other and the gardens are kept lovely. The apartment is spacious, small kitchen and breafast bar, with a sideboard with TV and coffee table, sofa bed and chair. Leading out patio doors to a lovely patio area with loungers and table and chairs. The garden was massive and very private so we did some of our sunbathing there. Upstairs was the bathroom and double bedroom with twin beds leading out to a balcony with a safe height railings. The kitchenware was pretty sparse, and we knew to bring our own toaster and kettle, although not much to hire. Hire of safe was 39 euros, 15euros deposit returned on departure. The whole complex is really quite attractive and has a mixture of private bungalows also. It was surprising that the reception was so small with internet facilities and a couple of sweet and drink machines outside (which always took the money but didn't provide what you paid for) The man at reception just gave up in the end and did nothing about it. However, they are friendly and at my request gave me a mop and bucket to keep the ants at bay. As soon as you eat, you will see them march in! Cleaners are not in every day so towels not changed daily which we felt was required, we had 5 children. We had a cockroach and lizard in both apartments which frightened the life out of my 4 year old in the middle of the night when he turned on the light to visit the toilet. The pool is a nice size and also has a small round shallow childrens pool where you knew they were safe at all times. The bar/restaurant is very basic with no music. As these apartments are on the far edge of Playa Del Ingles away from all the action, it would have been nice to have had some entertainment available to avoid having to go out every night. However, the three main centres we frequented was the Yumbo, Kasbah and the Beachside all of which had lots of nice restaurants, bars and shops. Try the Irish Tavern at the Kasbah centre, they are fabulous and their karaoke host is spectacular. They treated our children as if they were their own. We had a great holiday, our first time in Gran Canaria and we would use the apartments again if we didn't have the children as they found the days quite

Review of 'Bungalows Marbella Golf'
09 October 2006
Firstly, I have to say how easy and quick it was to book with Alpharooms. I have used them before and both times, have been very impressed.
On arrival in the early hours of the morning, we were met by a friendly and efficient guy, who checked us in without any fuss or bother. Access is via a small road. A bit rough in places but not a dirt track or anything like that as some reviews have said. It does slope from the main road but not a huge hill.
Location is quiet with few bars in the immediate area but close enough to enjoy the bright lights if you want to. The split-level bungalow was basic and would benefit from some refurbishment, but it was clean and very spacious. Much better than the usual studio or one bedroomed apartment. Downstairs, there was a small fitted kitchen with a breakfast bar. The kitchen equipment was limited but enough for a week's holiday. There was a fridge and cofee maker along with frying pan and two saucecepans. Crockery, cutlery, tin opener, chopping board and glasses were all provided. A corkscrew would have been good, but we bought one on day two. Kettles and toasters could be hired from reception along with fans and other things.
Next was a large lounge area with a sofa bed and armchair. The lounge led on to a patio area with table and chairs, beyond which was a lawned garden surrounded by bushes and flowers with two sun loungers.
Upstairs, was a large storage cupboard on the landing, next to a clean, tiled bathroom with a nice powerful shower. The bedroom was large with plenty of wardrobe space, containing two single beds, which can be pushed together to make a double or left as two singles. The beds were ok but very hard as the mattress was on a sheet of board. There was also a large balcony which overlooked the garden.
The pool area was clean, as was the pool water, although it was not really big enough for the number of bungalows in the complex. There was a pleasant bar area next to it. The two bar people were friendly and drinks were reasonably priced. They also had a basic selection of snacks and meals.
During our stay, all of the staff were very friendly and kind. The maid came three times during the week to clean, but there was no linen change. This is done

Excellent resort / Accomodation. Ok its basic but comfortable and staff friendly. Was nice having your on private garden to sit and relax in. Local SPAR shop a short walk and the main YUMBO centre just 10 minutes walk max. Not sure where people are getting 40 minutes from unless they went via Maspalomas!!.For me this was like having your own private villa at a fraction of the cost. Would def recommend Marbella Golf, and certainly be using them again when I revisit GC. NB guess I was lucky had no problems with ants.

Review of 'Bungalows Marbella Golf'
19 September 2006
i went on holiday for 12 nights with my mum, i found the bungalows really nice (basic but nice). there was only one thing that i didn't agree with, we went as self catering, but when we got there, there was nothing other than 1 pot, 4 plates, 4 sets of cutlery. we had to go to reception next day, and hire a fan, and a toaster, so don't be looking forward to a cup of tea as soon as you arrive as you'll need to hire from reception first. weather was absolutely fantastic when we were there, the snack bar at the pool was really nice, and there was a lovely wee man worked there, the pool was really clean aswell.
the shop (spar) was about a 5 minute walk, good centre to go to id the Casbah Centre, we found a good irish pub called Molly Malones, karaoke and table service all night, good food aswell.
if you decide a night out in Puerto Rico for a change it only costs about 18euro in a taxi, and a good night out is to be had there, especially at Barbacoa, nightly entertainment!!
all in all holiday was fantastic and i would recommend it to anyone.
maids are also in nearly every day, and are very nice too!!
if anyone is planning on going soon, have a great time.......we did!!

My Partner and I recently stayed at the Marbella Golf Apartments and would have no hesitation in using these apartments again. The reception staff were very friendly and helpfull, and spoke very good English. My only observation that I presume could be a problem for some people is at the weekend the complex is visited by local spanish people and there families and the pool area does become very busy and noisey, we had a bungalow very near the pool area and could imigine some visitors being put off by the noise. All in all an excellent complex with a SPAR supermarket just around the corner that sell just about everything you would need, and taxi's waiting on tap to take you anywere you want. MY TIP: Don't bother walking anywere or talking public transport as the taxi's are so cheap (usually 3-4 Euro's).
If you are looking for cheap acom in Palya del Inglis then you won't beat the Marbella Golf Aprtments.

Review of 'Bungalows Marbella Golf'

marbella golf bungalows a fab the only bad thing is the ants when you stay you need ant repellent. The bar staff i really nice and the food is good. There is no restaurant. There is a good little english bit with bar called mackers only a euro a pint free bingo and lots of fun. holiday centre is good for the fair but moon light bar is rubbish. The restaurant round the corner is really nice and the spar is the nearest shop for food. frankii xxxx add me on frankiipownall@hotmail.co.uk if you need anymore info

Review of 'Bungalows Marbella Golf'
14 August 2006
If you're looking for a buget break, close enough to all the amenities Playa Del Inglis can offer then Marbella Golf is the place to stay. My wife and I booked a last minute break in March. As we'd hired a car we intended to us our accommodation as a place to sleep only. We were delighted to find our bungalow to be in an ideal location with easy access to the motorway and only a short walk to the local bars and resturants. Being early season the weather was hot but not too hot for a longer (35 min) walk into either of the main centres. The layout of the bungalow was great, lots of space and a private garden to lie in. Only downside was pay TV. Didn't have a lot of contact with staff, only to check in and out and an odd drink at the poolside bar, barman was always on the phone which he continued to use while serving, but the barmaid in my local does the same!! We'll be back again soon.

Review of 'BUNGALOWS MARBELLA GOLF'
23 July 2006
Arrived at the apartments in Gran Canaria on 15th July 2006, apartments clean but basic, ok for what we wanted. The complex was big and had a lovely pool area with snack bar, although considering the size of the complex they hadn't got their own supermarket, which i felt was strange. The nearest supermarket though was only a short 5 - 10 minute walk, but in the heat it feels longer. Three of us went and we all felt it was ideally situated as it was close to everything. The Staff are very helpful. The only disappointing thing for us which spoiled our stay is that they have no allocated shower/changing room facitities for your last day after you have checked out, we were offered the staff/gardeners toilet with shower next door, which was really dirty, we were led to it through the laundry room which to be honest we thought was a joke a first ! So needless to say we didnt use it ! Most places we had all stayed in have a seperate apartment or proper facilities, we just felt let down. Depending on your return flight bear this in mind. Also all of our itinery mentioned checkout was 12noon, we were asked to check out at 11am !

The bungalows are clean and tidy with a private garden and private balcony, the staff are mostly friendly and helpful (except the guy with long hair at pool bar- found him very arrogant) if you require a taxi or anything you dont have to walk up to the top of the hill you only have to ask at reception and they'll happily arrange one for you. The bungalows are in a good location close enough to shops and pubs but far away from the noise of it all. enjoy your stay

Fabulous! i have stayed here twice now and these are by far the nicest apts in Playa Del Ingles. basically they are like having your own private villa - at a fraction of the price. they include a garden area with 2 sunbeds and a balcony upstairs. the units are split level. there is no need to trapse to the beach when u can sunbathe with all your home comforts. the accommodation is a 5 minute walk from the Yumbo Centre and is in a relaxing setting. these bungalows are a well kept secret and i definately recommend!
