family holiday
28 July 2008
just returned from 2 week stay at gaviotas. we were put in block 5 for first week and found it a bit far to be walking to beach etc with small children but moved to block 1 just beside the beach and main shopping complex for 2nd week. Much more convenient, clean pool with baby pool, nice and quiet without the hassle of having to reserve the sunbeds every day. there is always a sunbed available. Nice friendly staff but the only grumble i had was having to pay 30€ for the privalege of moving. Matagorda is perfect for anyone who wants a quiet family holiday with a bit of crack in the pubs and good cheap food.

Relaxing Holiday 12 June 2008
01 July 2008
We have just come back from a fortnights hoiday in Las Gaviotas. We were put in Block 8 which is known as Las Cascades. This is the biggest of the apartments complexes and has 39 bungalows and a heated largish pool. There is also a bar but it's not part of the all inclusive. We went self catering so it was fine for us. They do a mean breakfast. The bungalows are in the middle of being refurbished and ours had already been done, so we had no complaints there at all. Our only slight moan was the changing of the towels, you are told they change them twice a week and linen once a week but on the second week we went quite a while with the same towels. The complex was nice and quiet and it felt like we had our own pool at times, absolute heaven.
It's only a short walk down to the beach and the shopping centre is about the same distance. We found a couple of great Irish Bars in the Shopping Centre the Auld Triangle and our favourite eatery Barties Bar. The food is reasonably priced and tastes just like home cooking. I would definitely recommend them to anyone especially their Steak Pie.
We enjoyed ourselves that much we plan to go back next year. Alpha rooms gives the best price and we would highly recommend them.

wedding / holiday
12 May 2008
My wife and I booked accomodation for 122 at this complex, of all ages including one with disabled needs to attend our sons wedding at the end of march 2008 for 2 weeks.
The majority of the group were all inc and all have the same problems with the food, boring, inedible in many cases, un labelled, left out too early, and definitely not for the northern european taste.
Timings in the brochure were inaccurate - the only restaurant shuts for food at 10pm not 10.30,nor was the pool bar open during our stay.
At no point were we advised that the complex was spread over 8 locations, nor that the site was unsuitable for a person in a wheelchair despite this requirement being pointed out when the booking was made - they were infact going to put the wheelchair occupant in block 8 in an apartment whose only access was down a steep flight of steps
and the furthest away from the faciliites.
Overall we found the apartments very tired, with basic defects, the cleaning haphazard to say the least, and considering the amount of custom our group provided little effort was made to
help.
This is not a resort we would consider using again.

Relaxing venue
02 May 2008
A friend and I have just spent a week in the Las Cascadas section of Las Gaviotas and found it more than acceptable. The layout of the Gaviotas complex can be confusing ( 7 different bungalow complexes, 3 away from the main reception including ours), but the staff do provide transport to/from main reception on check-in and check-out so it's not a problem. Can confuse taxi drivers though! Our complex was very quiet - the pool bar wasn't open until the last day of our stay. The bungalow (1 bed, kitchen/diner/sitting room & bathroom) was more than adequate and featured a patio with sunbeds and a separate secure yard for clothes drying - very good idea!. The cleaning staff called 5 times, but once or twice did little more than a cursory clean-up (made beds and poured bleach in the toilet). The bungalow itself is showing signs of age - cracked tiles/broken glass in the patio doors/ peeling paint - but there was renovation work ongoing in nearby bungalows so perhaps it's in hand.
There's a nearby shopping centre with 2 supermarkets and lots of restaurants (Irish and Chinese mostly) so we didn't need to go far! Puerto is a good 30 min + walk away, but the taxi rank is around the corner from Las Cascadas and isn't expensive.
Overall we were happy with the bungalows and would return again.

4th year and still excellent!
04 April 2008
We have just returned from a 19 day stay. We were in Las Cascadas section which was great for kids with the pool and excellent bar, which did great meals at breakfast and dinnertimes. Rooms were clean and had great maid service each day. The complex was quiet, as usual, and it was a perfect relaxing stay again. All amenities are closeby and the area is great. I will be hopefully visit again next year with my family.

Very enjoyale
24 March 2008
We are just back from a week in the Las Gaviotas. Would recommend to anyone - great location and very well maintained. It was lovely to have your own area outside your bungalow to relax in peace and quiet if you wanted to be away from it all. You have everything you need on your doorstep (prom, beach shops) but you are also not too far from Pto Del Carmen if you want to be in main hub. Would recommend to anyone wanting quiet relaxing holiday.

Very Relaxing
07 February 2008
Just returned from a glorious week in Bungalows las Gaviotas;Lanzarote. Apartment was very clean and spacious. Kids had a fantastic time in the heated swimming pool, bar and small resturant on site made life easier.
Beautiful beach within five minutes walking distance and it cost less than 3 euros for a taxi into puerto del carmen. We where within walking distance to two major hotels with evening time family entertainment. We were spoilt for choice and didn't really want to come home in the end. I would be happy to recommend and will definatly be returning.

These apartments are bright, clean and spacious. The location is perfect being only a short walk to the Commercial Centre. We have stayed here many times and although not 5* they have everything you need for a holiday in the sun. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We would recommend the Matagorda Park Restaurant for excellent food and The Sportsmans Bar next door for a warm welcome.

Relaxing holiday @ Bungalows Las Gaviotas
24 November 2007
Our apartment was very clean, light and airy, well serviced.
The kitchen was well equiped, good size fridge and spacious cupboards etc.
Located 5 minutes walk from beach, supermarket and several restaurants.
Puerto Del Carmen was easily accessed by taxi or bus, 5 minuite trip or a 30 minuite walk for the very keen along a wide level promanade.

review of bugalow
12 September 2007
This was our first time to Lanzorote, enjoyed it immensly. Bungalows nice had basic things in best ive been to as apartments go, cleaned on a daily basis. We had a 2 bedroomed apartment which was great, teenagers had their own privacy! Our bungalow was in block 5 which was a little out of the way but it suited us fine, we had the pool to ourselves practically for the 2 weeks! Felt like our own villa!! Pool however was cold! Although it was a little out of the way plenty of taxis to take you into Puerta del Carmen not a bad price either! Would definitely go back probably ask for this block again!! We were thankful for the portable air fans as there was no air conditioning which ni think without them we would have had problems sleeping in the night as it was hot and sticky. Overall holiday was great, will be definitly going again sometime.

Peaceful & Relaxing
09 July 2007
Just returned from a fortnight in Lanzarote. Have holidayed there many times before but this was our first time staying at the Gaviotas. We were delighted with the accomodation. The bungalows were very spacious in comparison to previous accomodations. The holiday was very relaxing and peaceful and there was no reserving of sunbeds which you tend to get in the bigger complexes. The proximity to the beach and the long promenade are excellent for anyone who wants to walk, run or cycle, and Puerto Del Carmen is just a short taxi ride away.

Excellent stay, pool could be warmer, pity no kids club. Our third visit to these apartments, would book satellite TV if we did return. All in all a most enjoyable visit. Our many thanks to Alpharooms, could not have been easier to book, our first time booking online and definitely will continue to use alpharooms.com for all our vacations. Thanks Again.

19 January 2007
Excellent self catering or half board style accommodation. Suited to young families and middle aged. The bungalows are well equipped but do not have air conditioning. The complex leads directly onto a virtually traffic free promenade which is approx 3 miles long. Fantastic clean beaches with lifeguards. 50 yds from a retail / dining complex

Review of 'Bungalows las Gaviotas'
15 November 2006
This was our fourth time in Bungalows Las Gaviotas, and as i'm sure you realise we love it! the staff are very helpful, as when we arrived they had allocated us to Block 4 in the complex but as we had stayed in block 3 before and wanted to again they changed our bungalow to block 3 - which was great! the complex is v.clean, close to the beach, bars, restaurants, hair salon and beautician in the matagorda area, the main disco bar area is only a short taxi drive away, and the reception staff are only to happy to arrange this for you. Each block has it's own pool and snack bar. the bungalows are basic but have everything you could want. We absolutely loved it and will be back again. whether you want a quiet night or be up all night Lanzarote has it all!!!

Review of 'Bungalows las Gaviotas'
12 October 2006
As I have always booked holidays through travel agents I was very apprehensive with the whole idea of doing this myself. What was I worried about?!!!! Everything ran so smoothly, the bungalow was 303 block 3 which was very close to the beach, virtually 1min away, suited us fine as we are dedicated beach bums!! Pool & restaurant right outside our door---another bonus we loved it all. Every body so friendly & helpful cannot fault it at all will be back!!!

Review of 'Bungalows las Gaviotas'
06 September 2006
The apartment was very clean and pleasing to the eye and all basic amenities were catered for. Our apartment had a great location, situated outside one of the many pools (suitable for both toddlers and infants) and only a 5 min walk to the beach and shops.
Although it was peak season the complex had a relaxing atmosphere and had no continuous noise in the evening, which was good for the sake of the baby sleeping!
The only disadvantage was that the apartment didn't have air conditioning. To say it got hot and stuffy during the night was an understatement.
However, overall, we enjoyed our stay.
