Great for a short break!

28 May 2008
Don’t be put off by the entrance hall on arrival! We arrived after 11pm and were greeted by an entrance hall which resembled a communist tenement block! The staff made us feel comfortable and were very helpful. We were shown to our room on the 5th floor (attic) and then we were pleasantly surprised! The room was perfectly adequate and was clean and well presented. We had three good nights sleep although the bed-sheet was a towelling material which was not the most comfortable. There was everything you could expect for the price, kitchenette, shower, hairdryer, TV with satellite, even a DVD player! Our room was high-up in the attic so the tram noise was not a problem. Yes, if you listened hard enough you could hear them, but one or two cherry vodkas certainly helped to drown out any noise! The apartments are a mix of the Bluebells and private flats. Head towards town and at the end of the road is a 24 hour store (the mini bus to the Salt Mine stops outside) so anything you need is close to hand. We had a really enjoyable break at the Apartments and would definitely return.

Just what we needed

16 May 2008
Our main reason for visiting Krakow was to visit the Jewish quarter and Auschwitz. Apartment was in the area we wanted - walk from the bus station only took us 15mins.Staff welcoming, excellent English, very helpful. Recommended some excellent restaurants - very cheap to eat out & food delicious. Also checked various facts for us & booked trip to Auschwitz which cost £23- each incl mini bus pick up from apts, guided tour of Auschwitz. Only complaint bus driver drove like a maniac & only 3 hours at the camps which was not long enough for us to see everything. Apt very clean-comfortable beds, loads of very hot water, 2 cooking rings, utensils & crockery etc, fridge, kettle, table & chairs, hair drier & washing machine in ample sized bathroom, good shower. We were in attic room 52 -lift to 4th floor - some noise from trams but had windows open all night & slept fine. Polish people friendly -esp the young who loved to use their English to help you out. Krakow is a lovely city with fine buildings & a fantastic history. I would love to return & would def consider staying at Bluebells again.

Excellent

This is a really convenient location, central to all major city sights. As a 50+ and a 21 yr old, the location suited us both, close enough to enjoy the night life and not too far to walk back. The staff are really friendly and helpful. They booked two trips and a taxi for us, we could have used the computer in reception to check emails if we needed to. The room was lovely, clean and welcoming, there were no problems at all. We were on the first floor and the trams are very noisy but with ear plugs sleeping was not a problem. The balcony gave impressive views of the street and street life! I would definitely recommend these apartments.

Location is perfect for both the town square and Jewish quarter. Staff are polite and helpful and rooms are very secure and clean. Only downside was that the curtains did not fit the windows and we were facing the main street so people opposite could see right in (including straight into the bathroom!) Also, although the shower works fine and was kept clean, there is no holder for the shower head which means you have to hold the shower yourself, which can be a pain if you are washing your hair! We didn't find the noise from the trams a problem but if you were a light sleeper then it could be annoying. We chose not to book the trips to Auchswiz and the Salt Mines though the hotel as it does work out cheaper if you do it yourself. We did book a taxi to the airport with them and it was a good price (70zl) and the taxi driver was lovely! We wanted to take him home with us! Overall, I would definitely recommend Bluebells apartments for a budget break.

Excellent location within Krakow. Everything very close and easy to get to and find your way back. We were on the 2nd floor and didnt find the tram noise a problem. I emailed the apartments prior to arrival and recieved a prompt and very helpful response. When we arrived at the apartments the reception staff were very very helpful and they also booked our trip to Auchswitz as well and the return taxi with no problems. My only complaint is that the room was not overly clean (dirty bathroom, fag butt and wrappers in the freezer, holes in the curtains and visable stains on the net curtains) but otherwise good!! Would recommend if on a budget!!!!!

Excellent location, minutes from old town in one direction and Kazimierz with its many bars and restaurants in the other. Cosy attic room high enough so that traffic noise isn't a problem. Clean, well equipped apartment & friendly, helpful staff. Would stay again.
