not so great time

10 April 2008
On reaching the hotel, we had to pay a 50 euro security deposit, which we got back upon leaving, although the room had been paid for well in advance. we finally managed to get the heating working on the second day, total chaos at breakfast ( we weren`t on the list).tradesmen and workers trailing in and out of the hotel, bar closed at 11pm.To be perfectly honest it was a birthday surprise for my friend but after staying at that hotel it has put us off going back to Dublin, i wouln`t recommend it

Weekend at Blooms

02 July 2007
This is our second visit to Blooms, last visit was Sept 06. The accomodation is basic and quite small, however it is very clean & tidy, clean towels every day, very friendly staff and you are spoilt for choice at the breakfast buffet. It is a fantastic base for the temple bar area & shopping on Grafton St. It is close to public transport if needed. The bar attached to Blooms is excellent & very lively & the food is good. Staying in the Temple Bar area is not for those wanting a quiet relaxing break. There are some good eating & drinking places across the river too! Will hopefully be visiting again in the not to distant future.

Great time!

05 May 2007
I had an excellent stay at the Blooms. The room was clean and tidy, towels were changed every morning. The nightlife is amazin, great for hen/stag do's or anyone who loves a good night out. The location is perfect, right in the centre so there are plenty of shops, pubs and clubs just round the corner. Club M is absolutely brilliant, open till the early hours, we spent most nights there and had a fab time. Our room was directly above club m which was quite noisey, but when you've drunk as much as we did you hardly notice it, when your in the Temple Bar area you cant really expect it to be quiet. Breakfast is buffet style with a wide range from fry up to fruit and cereal. I had a brilliant time and would definately go again!!!!

The hotel is in a prime location in Temple Bar but not for the faint hearted as there is lots of noise through to the early hours.  The hotel was clean & tidy but was in desperate need of a refurb & there was no tea/coffee facilities in the room.  The rooms are very small & there is no expense spared on pictures, lamps etc.  Towels were changed every day though & if your looking for a cheap hotel in the heart of the nightlife in Temple Bar, this is the one.

The Blooms Hotel is located in the heart of the temple bar area. So location wise, it is only a stone throw from the night life of Dublin.  Is a 5/10 min walk to shopping areas.  Is located within easy access of the transport system.
THe Hotel itself has an excellent bar attached, with good food and has entertainment nightly.  The accomodation is comftable but simple. The irish breakfast is buffet style which was excellent.  The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.  I wouldnt recommed a room on the first floor but anything above would be ok.
The bathroom could have been better, but for a citybreak of a few days the hotel was overall, excellent, I would go there again.

Good Location

18 July 2006
The Blooms Hotel is in need of some updating, however, the hotel staff were great, very friendly and helpful.

The rooms were basic and in need of some modernising but were kept clean daily. I was disappointed to see no tea making facilities in the room (think this is the only hotel I've ever stayed in without this).

Breakfast service excellent - from 7.30 - 11.00 (self service).

Location to Temple Bar, Grafton Street & O'Connell Street perfect from this hotel.

Have stayed in a more modern hotel in Temple Bar before but would return to the Blooms Hotel.

My wife and I have just returned from Dublin and Blooms Hotel.
Location: 10/10, right in the heart of things in Temple Bar, 5 mins O'Connell St. 2 mins to pubs and clubs

Staff: 10/10 Helpful staff in restaurant and reception.

Food 8/10 Breakfast choice was good, both cooked and continental available, only gripe was that the entire breakfast sitting were forming a queue at just one six slice toaster.

Room:Clean but basic, no kettle or tea making facility, towels and bedding clean and crisp, wallpaper peeling a bit in the bathroom, room smelt a bit of cigarette smoke from previous residents.

The hotel has a decent bar downstairs, The Vat House, and a nightclub on the side Club M, (free admission for residents)
It is popular with henparties etc and can be noisy into the night we always sleep well after a few drinks, but remember, you are in the centre of things here and it's bound to be a bit noisy if not from the inside then from those establishments nearby, Blooms is a great place to fall into bed when you're in Temple Bar and you realise your legs aren't doing what they are meant to due to an intake of alcohol!!!

Very nice hotel. Central - in Temple Bar. Rooms quite large and clean. Bathroom good shower and lots of hot water. Breakfast was good - the coffee however was horrible. The night club can be a bit noisy - it closes at around 2.30pm when everyone spills onto the road. But I would return as its good value for money.

Well I may only be 19 but this is such a perfect hotel to stay in. All the rooms are clean and tidy, Got to have the full irish breakfast option as it is on till 11 in the morning and is gorge!
There was just me and my friend that went away for the weekend, couldnt be nearer to Temple Bar, and if its a drinking hol your after this is perfect. There is a bar attacted which had Irish bands on every other night - Brilliant! There is also a night club attached called 'Club M' and as you are a resisdent of the hotel you get in free of charge (Usually about 15 Euro on Saturdays) The club was fantastic, we went on a sunday night when funky house was playing, so many good tunes I think it closed at 4 so BEWARE it can be noisey but its something I can put up with when drunk, and you have to expect noise if you are going to Temple Bar!

Hotel excellent location, although rooms a little tired I would not let this put you off, they are clean and large and have everything you need including a hairdryer.   Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice and nicely set out, staff very friendly.  VAT bar was excellent too, great atmosphere and open till late, never managed the night club as only there one night and had been up since 3am that morning so never made it, but Im sure that was brilliant too.   Would definately stay again.  Highly recommended if you want a central hotel very close to shops and all entertainment that Dublin has to offer.

This hotel is right in the centre of Dublin with the two main shopping areas near by. There is a pub attached to the hotel serving adequate pub grub but best of all is the live Irish music every evening. There are numerous restaurants only a stones throw from Blooms so there are plenty of places to eat out. Nearly every pub that I passed had some sort of music in house. The hotel was very clean with attentive staff and in spite of the situation was very quiet. Breakfast is traditional Irish which is superb. I will go there again.'
