Review of 'Bitacora Club'

The Bitacora Club is in a great location, these are clean and comfortable apartments which are great if you are looking for a 'no frills' type of accommodation.  There are 2 good size swimming pools which most apartments overlook and the apartments also have entertainments - although closed in low season.  All in all a great place to stay for families and couples alike.

I would definitely stay at the Bitacora again.  Me and my sister (30 & 27) stayed in June 06, the only downside to the apartments for some people are that they are at the top of a hill.  However we did not find this a problem, it is 5 mins to both old town and main strip, there is not a hill if you go to old town as you can go the back way, and to the strip it is down hill, so it is only uphill on the way back and we got a taxi every time, cheap enough too!  We had a great room with a good balcony overlooking the smaller pool.  The apartments are basic but very clean and well decorated. Nothing not to like!

We were not expecting a great place to stay through previous reviews. We were delayed a day and as we were only staying for 7 days the last thing we needed was poor accommadation. So we were pleasantly relieved and surprised by the Bitacora.First impression was clean and basic which is what we wanted. It was quite private and no-one gave you any hassle. The staff were really polite and friendly and would help you. We didn't sample the restauraunt as we preffered to go into town which was only 10-15 minutes walk, reasonable prices, chilled out and relaxed people. We would go back here with no hesitation.

Overall the complex is a good place to stay, with a mix of nationalities, familys and younger people. The apartment was bigger than I expected and was comfortable and clean. It had a bath with a shower. The kitchen facilities were ideal for making a quick snack or breakfast, the balcony was a good size. The only english language channel I could get on the TV is eurosport. The apartments have 24 hour reception and a security guard so it did feel safe for me as a single travller. You can also hire the key for the safe in your room if you want to (12 euros for the week). There was entertainment provided around the pool on some afternoons and evenings and the reception has 2 computers to access the internet through. The sunbeds are free. Self catering customers can pay to eat in the restaurant but it was easier for me to eat out. I felt the apartment was good value for money and the staff were helpful. The location is about 10 minutes walk from the main beach and strip. Its easy enough to find your way around but its quiet walking back from the strip to the apartment on a night, having said that I didnt encounter any problems. The beach is big, with the usual facilites although be warned the sea is cold. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the old town around the port (or 5 minutes in a taxi. There are lots of restuarants and its where the local people meet up and relax on an evening. There is a modern shopping complex close to the old town wih high street names. There is lots to do and see in Lanzarote if you want to explore and you can easily book trips through local offices or with reception. The local buses are cheap and airconditioned but check timetables and siesta times before you go anywhere. Overall Lanzarote feels safe, friendly and relaxed, I enjoyed my week in the sun.

I thought the location was pretty good seems as we were given our accomodation on arrival at the airport. we werent expecting to be so close to the "strip", so that was pretty good. room was well presented on arrival..nice and clean. well equipped..cooking hob, kettle, toaster etc. nice view of the swimming pool. it was easliy accesible as it was a ground floor apartment so there was no big steps to climb!! Staff were nice and helpful. Nice little poolside bar there to relax n enjoy a drink or two in the sunshine! There was no entertainment present as it is off peak season in march but apart from that we enjoyed our stay in Bitacora Club Lanzarote and would recommend them to my friends!!

The Bitacora Club is well located in Porta del Carmen, and is in easy reach of the beach, shops and other facilities. Although the appartments are fairly basic, they are very clean and have a maid service 5 times a week. We would definately consider returning there again in the future.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bitacora Club. The apartments were very clean and comfortable and were adequate whether staying for a week or a fortnight. The kitchen equipment was perhaps not enough to cook a 3 course meal but adequate for a snack but who wants to cook on their holidays!! The staff were very attentive and friendly and any problems or requests for extras like towels or blankets were taken care of almost immediately. The only slight drawback was the location which was on the top of a very steep hill but found that avery minor detail. Will definately go back to these apartments.

after reading various reviews on bitacora club i was not expecting very much, and anything good would be a bonus. when arrived rooms were spotless, all cutlery clean, and there was nothing to moan about. The complex is built in the 80s and you can tell that, but all in all it is clean and acceptable. Rooms are spacious and had a big patio instead of a small balcony. Checked out restaurant after reading very bad reviews and i have to agree the small amount of food which was on show was poor.If you are only selfcatering then recommend this complex.

Bitacora Club a lovely Aparthotel overlooking the sea and the mountains. Rooms very clean and spotless when I arrived. Only thing missing are sharp knives and egg cups but overall everything in excellent condition. Too many steps and not suitable for disability & mobility. Nice clean Swimming pool with good sunny spots. Going into town & beach is about 10 minutes walk and going back to the apartment very uphill but good exercise.....phew. I would go back again in the new year and the costs very resonable. Its a good apartment for couples, families and friends get together.

Everything was perfect, highly recommend. The cleanliness wwas brilliant. There is a short cut to the old town and can avoid the hills, ten minutes walk to the beach, ten minutes to the airport all the staff were welcoming and friendly and extremely helpfull to any of our questions. We were so impressed that we plan to return to Bitacora Club early next year.

thanking you for a nice stay,

I stayed in hte Bitacora on Sep 05. I had an excellent time in this accomodation and this is only a 5 minute walk from centro(main strip).
We had a maid come in every day and i think the towels were changed every other day. The accomodation would suit most people but to get to the main strip you have to walk down a slight hill so may not be suitable for those less mobile) but a taxi only costs 2 euros)
the staff and food was excellent and i would def go back to the bitacora

Review of 'BITACORA CLUB'

My first impression of the Bitacora Club was its location, set on a hill about half a mile from the main town centre it would not be suitable for anyone who has walking difficulties, however the club has a 24 hour reception area where you can order a taxi at a very reasonable price.

On arrival at the club the reception staff processed my booking with a friendly smile  and the minimum of fuss.  I was given my key and shown the location of my room on a map. On my way through the complex I noticed a well stocked pool side bar and  good sized swimming pool and a childrens pool both of which were extremely  clean.    I did however notice that the childrens pool was unsupervised and had no lifeguard so children would need to be supervised at all times.

When I entered my room I saw that the room was spotlessly clean, the windows had been opened.   I stayed in a  large one bedroomed apartment which comprised of living area and kitchen, bathroom and one bedroom.  The kitchen was adequately fitted out with kettle toaster, fridge cooker and all utensils, plenty of cupboard space in the bedroom and the lounge area.

Later that night I made my way to the restaurant and was not disappointed.  The quality of the food would not have been out of place in a four star resort.

The Bitacora Club represents value for money combined with cleanliness and friendly staff most of which speak extremely good English  I would certainly recommend anyone to stay there.
