Wedding Anniversary Weekend
17 September 2007
We chose this hotel to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary. On arrival we sat in the bar which as another reviewer has stated was large with lots of seats and sofas. We chose to eat in the restaurant and the food was really nice but a little pricey. Unfortunately the staff spoke very little english so ordering our meals was difficult. The room was clean and basic, however the shower was useless, the water merely trickling out. We had a cooked breakfast which was okay. We were met again by staff that again spoke very little english which made ordering toast more time consuming than it should have. Inside the hotel is very clean and tidy and reception were very friendly and accomodating with the few requests we had. The hotel is approx 5 miles out of town but the tram line is nearby and after 10 stops you will be in the city centre, costing 3.5 euros per person for a return ticket. If you choose to take a taxi then expect to pay between 10-20 euros each way for the same trip depending on what time of the day you travel. We never found the time to use the GYM so best to trust the advice of other reviewers. I beleive the hotel was value for money but disapointed that customer facing staff new very little english. I exclude the bar staff who were irish through and through. Overall we were looking for a hotel with facilites without paying the extortionate prices of the city centre. This we achieved.

Couple on a 3 day break
11 September 2007
Stayed at the hotel for two nights in early September. Brilliant.Hotel staff very nice and eager to help with any questions you may have. We were advised by someone outside Dublin airport to get a taxi to the hotel because it was out of the way of the city. As we only had an overnight bag this was not at all necessary because once we got to the hotel we realised we were very close to the brilliant tram line which took you straight into the city centre.(25min journey time) And from the city centre or other drop off places around Dublin you can catch an air-link bus for only 6 euros. The tram/bus all day ticket cost 6.50 euros per day. The taxi one-way cost us nearly 50 euros.
The room was very spacious although a little chilly the first night but within less than five minutes of calling reception a portable heater arrived until the radiator in the room could be sorted.
The pool was the best ever. Very friendly staff, spotlessly clean throughout all the facilities. Towels , lockers provided free but you have to wear a swimcap and that's 3 euros each if you have to buy one. The bar was very large too, lots of staff and the bar-seats and the leather sofas were extremely comfy.
The breakfast too was very delicious. We did not dine for dinner as we ate out in the city. There is a Mc Donalds just up the road which is handy if you got kids. The tram-stop is right opposite.
As a couple in their very early 40's the hotel was great. Next time we go to Dublin I will book this hotel.

3 days in Dublin area.
28 August 2007
The hotel is up to 3 star standart and its position outside the town center is ok due to wery good tram conection to the city. Parking space was also OK. Internet connection was possible but to a wery high price for the customer. My room was wery bad due to there was no dayleight comming in. It was as living in a basement without windows but it was at the first flor(room 137)

Enjoyable
13 August 2007
We stayed for three nights but wish it had been more, sure the hotel is more out of town than we would have liked, but the pool and lesiure facilities more than made up for this. The food was fine, and with a large Mc donalds just outside it would suite the kids as well. The tram to town stops two mins down the road, but it can be busy we never paid more than 15 Euros in the taxis to and from town so we stuck to them.We go to Dublin quite often and will def stay here on our next trip.

The hotel was clean, warm and welcoming. The bar / restaurant was very pleasant. Food was good, both breakfast and evening meals. The leisure facilities relaxed us after a day out and woke us up before breakfast. We will return again soon.

Review of 'SHELDON PARK'

Nice hotel, really nice food. Resurant really nice, also pub food really nice.
Room was reasonable, bed was small compared to other hotels we have stayed at. Bathroom was very nice.
Room was very cold, but we asked for extra heater and was fine.
Hotel was also in the middle of what seemed an industrial estate (south end) and residential area (north end). We are a young couple and even though it was a nice hotel, if we came back we would choose somewhere near to the town centre.

The sheldon Park hotel is a very clean Hotel. The staff are friendly polite and helpful. they help you to feel relaxed, in the surroundings of the hotel.absloutley no problems at all with this hotel. we shall be going back again.
The Hotel is about two minutes from the Tram station, which were always on time. this (we found) was the easiest way to get around.
By the way,I dont work for the Sheldon Hotel!!
Great!

19 October 2006
The rooms were very clean, the staff were helpful and friendly. The location is outside of Dublin access via the Luas line is excellent into the centre. Breakfast was good, the swimming pool and leisure facilities next door were also worth a visit. The hotel bar was really big and the food was spot on.
It was about 35euros in a taxi from the airport and 12euros from the city centre if you miss the last tram home!
I would definitely reccomend this hotel and stay here in the future.

Review of 'SHELDON PARK'
13 October 2006
The hotel is ideally situated away from the hustle and bustle of Dublin city centre, but still within easy reach. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, all of the staff were very friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were of a high standard, with everything you might need. The hotel restaurant was superb - excellent quality of food and sizeable portions. Breakfast was spot on - plenty to choose from, and again excellent quality and portion sizes. The Tram Way was only a five minute walk from the hotel, followed by a ten minute tram ride into the heart of the city centre.
