Old fashioned charm.

A fine rather old fashioned hotel, it has no lift ; a porter takes your luggage to your room. There are fine views of the nearby Braids and Pentland hills. The full breakfast can be recommended. It is a change to have this waiter-serviced instead of the almost ubiquitous help yourself buffet. I would stay there again. Reliable bus services take you to Princes Street in about 20 minutes.

Short stay at Braid hills

The hotel sits high overlooking the city and is quite impressive. We found the staff pleasant and helpful and the hotel public areas and guest rooms very clean and comfortable, though our room fittings and furniture were a bit 'tired'. Breakfast was very good and well served in the lovely dining room. Check-out was a bit muddled since they have only recently started dealing with alpharooms. We would use this hotel (and alpharooms) again.
