Fabulous!!!!

04 August 2008
We have been going to Benal Beach for the past 5 years and are still returning every year. The Benal Beach complex is great and if you vet your apartments properly before you book, then you will find that you get what you pay for. I have 2 kids and they love the place. The pools for them in the daytime give them lots on enjoyment and the Benal Arms bar on site is nice and relaxing for the first couple of drinks of the night. I can't understand that people give such poor reviews. get a life you saddos!!!!

Moved out

04 July 2008
I booked this hotel for my inlaws to be near us and the grandkids as we had booked with our holiday club who have a few rooms there. The place is like a rabbit run, there is no pool facilities if your children are young and can't swim. The place was dirty, found cockroaches in the corridors and found some sort of Pill in our room, very worrying as we had small children. The whole place was full off spanish teenagers getting drunk and being very noisy, this was frighting the children as well as my partner. Luckly I was part of a holiday club and contacted them and got us moved and took the inlaws with us, So we were only there a day which was 1 day to many. If you are going as a family stay away from Benal Beach

Disappointed

25 June 2008
I watched Benal Beach being built and it was state of the arch back then. i've lived in Spain in that area on and off for years. Hence i decided to book it as i have never stayed there before. i found it dissappointing for the money and could have stayed at other hotels for the same price and i know they are better. like the lady below me i booked it so we could have fun on the slides etc and they were closed. the staff weren't friendly compared to Spain in general and the place is very dated. Sorry i had a good time because my family were there in their apartment (which was full) and so my daughter and i could escape to luxury and feel like a holiday instead of just surviving in exceedingly basic accommodation. Fab views though

02 June 2008
ive just got back from 2 weeks at benal beach i found the hotel very clean and staff very friendly and helpfull, the room we stayed in was vey basic with a small kitchen area but clean, towels and sheets changed every other day. i was dissapointed that the slides wasnt working around the pool as this was one thing that made me book the hotel. also you wasnt allowed lilos in the swimming pool, which i dont know why! overall it was a lovely hotel very big and the swimming pools were very nice too i would recommend this hotel very good for young children aswell. beach was a 5 min walk and lots of restraunts and bars along the beach front.

This property is value for money, though it is very hit and miss as to the standard of accommodation that you are allocated. The room we had was very basic and not suitable for those used to a Thomson/first choice package holiday standard as they wouldnt make the grade. Those travellers who had time shares there do have more priviledges, for instance they are allowed to store their luggage in the luggage room, where as we had to leave our cases all day in reception until we flew late at night. Cots are charged for, as are portable tv's and safes, (I guess they have to recoup money from somewhere). The grounds are suberb, on par with any 4 star we have stayed in and the pool although it was to cold to use was very impressive. The building itself is a concrete jungle, very tired and 1970's looking and needs a major facelift. The surrounding area is plesant enough, english bars on the main road and on the prom lots of spanish and seafood restaurants. The park is literally right next door and is lovely to chill out in the springtime. The walk is 25-30 mins to the marina but its very expensive, eat at Milan restauarant instead which is next to windmill island and is absolutely delicious. Believe it or not Torremolinos is a better bet (and I never thought I would say that ever!!), though if you are set on this resort Benal beach is not a bad choice.

Benal beach was a fantasic hotel it offered me and my partner good facilities, it has something for all ages. We are a young couple and it was the best hotel we had been to with a super range of swimming facilities, which i must attmit the bar in the pool was were we was most, but the slides were great for cooling down.We are now looking to go back again next year with a few friends.

A great weekend

02 July 2007
When booking a hotel I always try to get a hotel that's not only value for money but that has good facilities and is safe for children and I must say that Benalbeach had all that and more, my six year old had a great time, it was like going to an aquapark but without the extra cost. Checking in could not have been quicker or better and as requested to Alpha rooms I got what I had asked for a room near the pools and not to far up and it could not have been better, the room was clean and a very good size with a balcony on one side and an even bigger one on the other ideal for a bbq plus great views. I just wish we would have been able to stay for a week instead of a weekend. My family has already decided that we will be visiting again next summer for longer this time.

A few years ago, I went to this hotel with my hole family (grandmother, cousine at 3, my mom and so on).. And i loved it! The pools, the bar, the rooms, it was perfect. It can be used by everybody, for children at 3 years and over. It was so good. It is close to the beach too! "..I'm lovin' it" It's worth a try, you are going to love it

We arrived at the hotel and were very impressed. The apartment was clean and tidy with a huge terrace looking out over the sea! There was plenty of room for everyone as we consisted of a 'couple' and a third peron so we each had our own space. Unfortunately it wasn't warm enough to use the pools but they looked fabulous. I would definitely go back as the hotel was central to everywhere we wanted to go without having to rent a bike/car. Well worth the price we paid.

Enjoyable holiday close to the beach. Hotels mini water park was hit with my daughter. Can be very busy and the interior decor will not be to everyones taste. Entertainment on every night typical for the area. Studio apartment was OK (just) but required refurbishment and had no aircon. There is better around if one searches around, don't pay too much. Can be difficult to park locally in summer.

Benal Beach, Benalmadena.

Position of facility excellent between town, park and beach.
Rooms rather outdated and in need of modernisation.
Bar (internal) room with no outside window completely characterless.
Reception staff very friendly.
Location of the room allocated- excellent.
Small supermarket in complex very good.

Good but if the rooms were modernised it would have been better.

This was a perfect hotel to stay in for us. It had a bed and a fridge and minimal things but that's all we needed cos we were outside most of the time. It was very easy to get taxis and to walk down by the beach. We usually got a taxi to the train station which only cost 4 euros cos we were a bit lazy!! The hotel bar was very nice too with a great happy hour!! We didn't use the pool cos it was too cold for us but i'd say in the summer the pool would be amazing cos it's so huge with slides. It'd be perfect for kids. I'm not sure how well you could cook in the apts tho, but we could heat rolls for breakfast and we had a kettle.
thanks for a great stay,at a super price!!!

Hi having stayed in Benal Beach over the last 7 years I can
recommend this without hesitation. The rooms are basic but include refridgerator, kettle, cutlery, bedding, towels and for a modest fee of about 7 euros per night you can hire a t.v.from the main reception where they speak good english.
The rooms are clean and tidy, there is a supermarket on site which provides most items you need, there is a bar for the evenings (get there between 7 and 8 pm for happy hour 2 drinks for the price of one great value). In summer there are 4 swimming pools and slides but they are shut during the winter, there are gardens to walk round the place is huge. You will find yourself about 5 mins walk from the beach and main road where there are plenty of places to eat, just behind Benal Beach there is a large lake and garden complex where you can relax for free. Its about 20mins drive from the airport(hire a car for about 30 euros a day) or taxi fare about 20 euros.Malaga city centre is about 30 mins drive from benal beach ,I've stayed here with friends and with my family and will be going back next year, you will have to go a long way to beat this complex at the prices they offer especially in winter.

Benal Beach is a large aparthotel situated at the Fuengirola end of Benalmadena. It's well placed for access to the local area of Arroyo de la Miel, but a long walk from the popular marina.  Benal Beach is a little tired and dated - almost entirely populated by older people, many of who are there because they have time shares. The rented out apartment we were in was large and well apointed in terms of crockery, pans etc. But the towels were very poor and the bed was without exaggeration, the worst I have ever slept in anywhere in the world! Despite these complaints - a reasonably priced location.

Excellent Location - less than 5 minutes walk to the Beach. 15 Minutes walk to the main nightlife around the Marina and 24hr square.
The staff were very friendly and courteous. The rates are very reasonable. Magnificent outdoor swimming pool. Just two complaints 1. The room was not cleaned and towels not changed during our five night stay. Not good enough !
2. It was a bit Irish to charge residents €15 to use the GYM per day.
We hope to return early next year.Hopefully the issues around the room will be adressed by then.

Benal Beach were very nice apartments with a supberb swimming pool. The location was a bit far out to where we normally stay, but still a few bars etc nr by. I was very unhappy with the cleanliness of the apartments, we stayed there for 8 nights and our room was not cleaned once. We did get fresh towels after 3 days but only the once. I must admit this did spoil our stay at the benal beach because the cleanliness does let them down...

Beautiful reception area and gardens around 3 swimming pools, also a quiet secluded garden that no one seemed to visit.Fantastic facilities ie. gym and spa. There is a very good supermarket on the bottom floor which was cheaper than the ones outside. It's a huge place with different buildings and we got lost trying to find the pool which was quite funny. The studio was basic but comfortable just what we expected for the price. I was not too impressed with the cleaning. The beds are only changed weekly and were never made the bins only emptied every 2nd day, our towels weren't changed very often and although clean they looked really grubby. If the floor was swept they didn't do a good job although all the equipment to do it yourself was on the balcony, not what I want to do on holiday. Friendly staff. Great location for beach, bars and some nice restuarants.Very good bus service and train station not too far.We booked a trip to Nerja which was good but shop around as prices varied from 28 - 16 euros. We couldn't find any entertainment & didn't hear about Bonaza Square until at the airport coming home.Although it had faults with the cleaning it was good value for money and we would stay there again, it has something for everyone.

Benal Beach was in a really good location.  It was situated next to the most beautiful park.  Benal Beach apartments from the outside look so vast, but dont let that put you off.  When you get inside the reception area it is very nicely decorated (although old fashioned) with fountains and goldfish.  The pool area is excellent with very well looked after gardens.

A bit of a hill going up to apartments, not suitable for people with walking difficulties.

The apartment itself was basic, but clean and comfortable with a great sea view. I would recommend these apartments and would not hesitate in going back to them.  Good value for money.

The Benal Beach is a large complex situated within a five minute walk of the sea front.
We stayed in the most basic type of studio apartment in Building 1, which consisted of a small kithen area, bath/shower room and large main room with one double bed and a double bed/settee.
The room also had a balcony with a lovely view of the sea.
The studio was light, bright and very clean and comfortable.
The Benal beach is ideal for families with children as it has a complex of five inter linking swimmimg pools complete with slides etc. This is a real blessing for parents as you can relax whilst the children play. There are life guards located around who happily keep the children safe.
We enjoyed our stay at the Benal beach and would return again.

Due to to the type of year pool was being renovated but would be impressive when open. There is a extensive fitness centre independantly run which is cheap for a week but expensive if paid by day.
Location was excellent for us and very quiet which with hangover after coming in at 8am was required plus near to old centre which had some tremendous Steak houses.

The Benal Beach is a huge apartment complex but that shouldn't put you off. The reception staff speak some English but there are some many friendly faces of people who have their own apartments in the resort who are there for most of the year that if you have any queries they will often help and everyone is so friendly its got a nice atmosphere.
The apartment was basic but clean, whilst we cooked in the apartment on a couple of evenings the complex is really well situated and was 3-4 minutes walk down a very slight hill to the beach promenade where there are lots of great restaurants and the beach, its about 20 mins walk along the flat promenade to the marina. A huge variety was on offer, for the cautious palette from cooked English breakfast or a traditional Sunday lunch to more traditional Spanish dishes, we preferred to eat seafood and fish every time and were never disappointed with our meals or tapas.
There is ample parking at the complex if you hire a car but buses appear to run regularly if you don't fancy dicing with the speedy spanish drivers on the coast road, we felt it was much easier to drive on the Autopista (motorway). This is also the easiest way to get to the Carrefour Hypermarket in Malaga and other large shops if you need some retail therapy. However, in virtually every local shop you could buy PG tips, Heinz beans and English chocolate if you were homesick!

There is a fantastic free park (Parc de Paloma)across the road with ducks, hens, peacocks, pretty trees and flowers and serves lovely coffee. We went in March and the weather was sunny and about 68' every day. There was no tv in the room but we had lots to do. Our only down side was the pool complex (which looks fantastic) but was being dug up for repair/refurbishment. When its open in the summer you would never need to leave the complex, except to eat!

We visited nearby Tivoli world (amusement park)which was good and also the cable car ride to the mountain top, this was our favourite excursion as it had a birds of prey display which was really well run. There were so many things we didn't have time to do that we really hope we get to go back again, need to top up the tan too!

We all flew in for a weekend in March 2006. The apartment was very clean but the decor & furnishings were a little dated which didn't matter to us as we were only there for a short time.   The complex is huge & impersonal which suited us & the reception staff were friendly & helpful. Our apartment had a big balcony with a side sea view & got the sun for most of the day. There were only 2 chairs around the table outside yet 4 people were booked into the apartment!!
The location is okay - a few minutes walk down to the sea front.  It is a quieter part of the resort so make sure you walk down the steps onto the lower seafront walk where there are some nicer restaurants & bars as the ones above on the roadside get lots of traffic noise but seem a bit cheaper!!
5 euros taxi ride to the marina from outside the complex or a good 15 minute walk. If you want a bit of nightlife the bars & clubs at the marina seem much nicer than Bonanza aquare!!
