What our customers say
just back from salou - 11-april 08- weather wasnt the best but compared to here definitely no complaints. salou itself is great, people are freindly, very very clean environment, the beach is great too though the sea was very cold, still stiff upper lip and all that and just dive in - well spainish pensioners do! stayed at the belvedere after reccomendation from a friend, prior to that done all the usual leafing through different hotel sites and cross referencing them with review sites in the end decided too go along with friends reccomendation and glad i did. the hotel is in an excellent location for theme park - about 10min walk away and the same goes for the beach. also very close to coach tours pick up points for excursions too cambrils, montserrat, barcelona amongst others. the hotel itself is classed as three star value for money wise definitely worth it. okay the rooms are not too big but ours had two double beds side by side. the food i thought was good, my wife reckoned it boarded on bland but my son liked it as well. the chefs are polite and ready to please couldnt ask for more.. i went half board and really glad i did because please please be warned spain is not cheap! i was going to go half board and here is just a taster i can of beans= 1euro, packet of 40 typhoo tea bags =2.40 euros and with sterling running at almost 1-1 that says enough, by the way the average price of fuel is 1.16 euros a litre for unleaded and with diesel a few cents more have another think about location to sites and hiring a car. the pool in the hotel was not heated so again those with a stiff upper lip and not wanting to be out done by retired spanish fly the flag and jump in, i did! oh one more thing for tea totallers like me as like over hear the soft drinks also have a very hefty sting in their tail if you from cafe average price for 330ml can or bottle coke tango whatever is 2euros upwards.
oh and for the travellers among you if you do end up going to bonavista sunday market be warned alot of what they have on offer is available in salou along the stalls on the beach front. my wife didnt listen to me and bought a barca kit from a stall that had it up for 45 euros i got it down to 40 only to see the exact same kit in salou for 25 euros. all done and said i give the hotel 4. there is also kids and adult entertainment at night abit repetitve but something to do. have fun...
