good hotel - room, bathroom, bar and breakfast all to a good standard. A beer was £1.60 for a pint!
You cant walk easily to the old town as the hotel is located on the opposite side and 30mins walk from the old town - there is a tram close by to take you there.
The only drawback in using a taxi is that you can pay from 250 -600 krone for a taxi back.
You are out of the main hub, attractions and night life.

the hotel was very clean and the staff friendly and helpful I was in a single room which was bigger than the normal broom cuboard that single travelors get
it was clean and not noisy some people complained about the noise from the trams at the front but you can always request a side or back room the hotel restarent was good and the food fairly priced the hotel is in a good location for all the transport and you could walk into the city centre, weather was well below freezing, snow ice and wind
but I still enjoyed it TAKE NOTE duty free allowance is 200 cigarettes dont be tempted to buy any more
I did and needless to say customs have them now
I good central hotel I would recommend it

We arrived at the airport and the temperature was 18 degress below, we had booked at taxi for the transfer from the airport and return  journey from the hotel at a very reasonable price. A god send considering how cold it was. On arrival at the hotel we found the staff very helpful and our room was very clean and tidy with a en suit bathroom which had a shower and toilet which was spotless. Breakfast was as you would expect from Praque lots of meat and cheese, but they did have a comprehensive range of cereals and this put you on to lunch time. I agree from the other reviews the trams are noisy but you soon get used to them. You could eat just down the road at great prices. The tram service is unbeliveable and you can get them just outside the hotel, you need numbers 12.8, and 17 to get to the old town.

Belvedere Hotel, Prague

19 January 2006
We had a fab time in Prague, and the Belvedere was a lovely good value for money hotel.
We booked our visit fairly last minute, for the 4 nights in between christmas & New year, and to our surprise the Belvedere was available and much cheaper than some other hotels for that period.
We were checked in quickly and efficiently and the staff we friendly & helpfull, with our luggage taken to directly to our room by the bell boy.
Our room was at the rear of the hotel overlooking a quiet residential street, so the noise from the trams were no problem to us,although i can imagine that rooms overlooking the main street may have been quite noisy.
The windows all opened fully perfect for us getting ingrossed in the snow, but maybe a little dificult if you are traveling with young children.
The room was adequately decorated and clean. the temp was just right and there was ample wardrobe space. The bathroom was clean, But we found the small separate toilet a little cramped.
We had tea and coffee making facilites, an in room sfae and a mini bar, all very good in a 3 star hotel.
The only downside was the lighting which was quite subdude and not really any good for reading, and the bedding by English standards was a bit strange, with 2 separate duvets covering a single bed, this got a bit uncomfortable at night.
But for the price we payed at the last minute i would definately recommend the Belvedere, Good value for money, excellenty placed for all there is to see and do in Beautifull Prague.

Breathless in the Belvedere!

09 November 2005
We arrived in Prague on Thursday evening and took a short (20 min) trip by pre-booked taxi to the hotel.  It's in the Prague 7 area just north of the river.

First impressions reasonable.  The hotel is on the corner in quiet part of town.  The reception area is clean with a bar area and the staff were helpful and friendly.  The room was clean, quiet and warm with good lift services and clean public areas.  We did take breakfast on a couple of days.  This was nothing to write home about but fine for setting you up till your first coffee stop!

The hotel is situated a hundred metres from tram and bus stops.  Tickets are available from the hotel for varying periods for about £1.50 for 24hrs unlimited tram and bus travel if my memory serves me right.  The 14 or 17 tram are good choices to get you into the Old Town in about 10 minutes max.

I recommend the hotel without reservation (pardon the pun).  For the price (around £40 per night per room) you get a good base to explore the city, the public transport is excellent and the hotel provides a quiet place to retreat from the hustle and bustle.

How did we rate hotel Belvedere

02 October 2005
We enjoyed Prague very much, and our holiday was made more enjoyable because of all the staff of the hotel Belvedere.  The hotel was very clean and comfortable.  However, the lighting in the bedroom was a bit too subdued, especially for reading, and we did not have comfortable chairs in the room.  The meals in the grill restaurant were excellent.  We had a quiet room at the rear of the hotel - maybe the rooms at the front were not so quiet because they were on a main road/tram route.  We walked into the city every day, it was only a 20 minute walk.

Review of 'BELVEDERE'

we enjoyed our recent stay in the belvedere, the staff were friendly and very efficient. the breakfast was excellent and with a bar, restaurant and internet access on the ground level it really was a great place to relax after a hard day sight-seeing!

The only draw back, and it's a big one, is the noisy trams which kept us awake during our 5 night stay.Even with the windows closed tight the noise was dreadful and took the shine off our holiday. Still, besides that, the hotel was great.
