As Expected
29 June 2008
I arrived at 10pm, with only 1 receptionist on duty. I had to queue for a while but the Receptionist was pleasant and helpful. Car parking is an issue as the hotel is just inside the congestion zone and surrounded by residential parking so chose to park in a nearby hotel's car park (£20 per day and 10 minute walk). The room and bathroom were small, needed upgrading and were VERY warm. However, the hotel is very quiet, fantastically located and provides the basic needs. Continental Breakfast was included, with Full English available at an extra cost. I would be happy to stay again.

We had four nights city break a lovely located hotelwith many places to eat out locally and two nearby pubs.the rooms were clean and the breakfast was lovely and served with a smile. The bar prices were very reasonably for that nightcap. We would go back maybe very soon to enjoy another show and take in the sites.

We stayed for 3 nights visiting Earls Court, the O2 and central London. Great location and transport access. Room clean and tidy if a bit dated. Staff helpful and cheerful. You could pay double for less elsewhere, would happily stay again.

Great Value & Location
21 January 2008
We stayed at Barkston Gardens this weekend and were very pleased with our selection. I was a little dubious given the extremely reasonable price we paid but we were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel really exceeded our expectations. The staff were freindly and helpful, the room was large and clean and the location was fantastic. A one minute walk from the tube station, with a chemist and M&S food across the road and numerous restaurants, shops, banks all within easy walking distance.
The hotel could was well worn and fairly dated but as a base to see the sites we could not fault it.

Great for the Exhibitions
12 January 2008
Only 50 yards from Earls Court Tube station this pub is just off the busy Earls Court Road. It is in a fantastic situation if you are going to an exhibition at Earls Court or Olympia.
I had a basement room which was massive. Clean and comfortable with all the usual stuff; TV, coffee, trouser press and I'm told wireless access. Good pubs and restaurants nearby as well as M&S, Boots all the high street stuff.

A budget banker!
14 December 2007
This hotel scores heavily on location. A quiet avenue yet close to busy road and very convenient transport links to Central London. Bed & bathroom clean and comfortable. At these room rates it would be nitpicking to complain about tired decor, creaky floors, basic breakfast etc.

customer service still exists!

This hotel is very good. The single room was slightly small however for the price I paid for it I was really pleased. It was clean and had a good shower! The hotel itself is very nice and the staff are very friendly and very helpful. They even find time to talk to you!

Great place to stay
27 August 2007
We stayed at the hotel for a second time this year, first time was for a few days sight seeing and a show for my wif's birthday, this time wa for the rugby league challenge cup. The hoel is clean tidy all the staff a friendly and helpful. we had good rooms both times, the decor is a bit tired but they are spacious and comfortable all you need for a good trip. The situation of the hotel could not be better close to earls court tube station, great bus services just around the corner. Loads of different places to get food although the food in the hotel is quite good and reasonably priced and a few pubs just a stride away. I would and have recommended this hotel to others.

Review of 'BARKSTON GARDENS'
23 December 2005
We stayed at the Barkston gardens during a short christmas break to London. The hotel was really easy to find, only a 2 minutes walk from Earls Court Tube, just off the main street, so much quieter than if on the main road. The reception staff were very helpful and we had no trouble checking in, when we noticed there were no towels in the room, they were straight up with a fresh set for us. The room had everything you could possibly need, with tea and coffee making facilities, tv, shower and bath. We had a front facing room with views over the gardens which was really pretty and again quiet. The exhibition centre was really easy to find from the hotel, only one road walk away (5 minutes walk). The breakfast was continental, and included toast, cereals, fruit, yogurts, tea, coffee and juices. The breakfast room was really clean and spacious. The hotel also kept our bags in a secure room for us on the day of check out until our train late that night which was very handy.
The one problem we had was with the heating in our room, we couldnt turn the radiator off and consequently it got very very hot! Otherwise, brilliant hotel, and exceptional value for money compared to the rates direct with the hotels itself. Id definitely go back and recommend it to anyone travelling to London.

14 December 2005
Used Barkston Gardens to attens concert at Earls Court. The hotel is in a perfect position for Earls Court 3 min walk to tube and 5 min walk to exhibition centre. This hotel was excellent value for money (booked with alpharooms)It was clean, friendly, good sized rooms, helpful staff and nice breakfast. Our room was ready when we arrived at 12 noon and no one rushed us to check out before noon either. Only things that were slightly against it was the room was very warm and the floor bords creaked!

Review of 'BARKSTON GARDENS'
11 October 2005
A good choice for a cheap weekend in central London. The Barston Gardens is within a minutes walk of Earls Court tube station and the exhibition centre and in a quiet location just off Earl's Court Road - a good street for shops, restaurants and bars.
Our bedroom was a little tired and the bathroom in need of some minor repair work - nothing to worry us. Buffet breakfast was plentiful if unexciting but the breakfast room and lobby were atractive and in good condition.
The hotel accepted our luggage when we arrvied before check-in time and also kept it for us for a full day after we checked out, which was invaluable.
The free internet access in the bar was a useful extra.
