Hi all....Im travelling alone on the 18th July having been let down by my mate. I was just wondering if there are any small friendly groups (26-40 age) going on the same date? I'm all inclusive so dont worry about buying me a drink!... If you spot me, come and say hi cos I will probably be bored by day 2!...lol

great time

14 June 2009
my wife and i where going over to benalmadena to sell our property and needed a 3 night stay, we chose the bali, and from the point of booking to the time of departing it was great, we arrived late at night and although the restuarant was closed we could have had cold snacks and drinks, the rooms are basic but clean and fresh, the food is excellant, we stayed on h/b and the choice and quality was superb. they have organised nights so there is no need to go anywhere else for your entertainment and the staff are are very helpfull and cheerful, would have no hesitation in going back.

Just came back from the Bali and couldn't fault it. Booked half board but upgraded to all-inclusive for the bargain price of €15 per day. Food was great, loads of choice. Staff were lovely and friendly. Would definitely go back and would definitely recommend it.

Definitely Worth the Money

11 April 2009
This is the second time we have booked through Alpha Rooms and we were delighted with the Bali Hotel as we were the first time when we booked the Aqualuz for Portugal. The taxi transfers I think are great no hassle of having to wait for everyone to get on the coach for transfer to hotels and no stopping to drop people off. We find it cheaper to book a flight and then book a hotel through Alpha Rooms than a package holiday would cost us from Cork. The food was very good and the staff very helpful but unfortunately they must have forgotten about cleaning our studio as the towels were only changed once and the room cleaned 5 days after we had been there. We didn’t mind this as being just the two of us there was no mess and sometimes in Apart / Hotels the cleaning can be a bit obsessive. What really disappointed us was that we booked a studio and we got no sun on the balcony and being early in the year it made the studio feel cold and even though there was heating it didn’t seem to work. We reported it to the receptionist and he sent someone up straight away to repair it but it still didn’t seem to work. Also even though it said all the balconies were ‘outward facing’, which we assumed would mean either overlooking a pool area or the sea. Our one faced the other part of the complex so the outlook wasn’t that great as all we could see was another large building and we do like to sit on the balcony at certain times especially in the evenings after dinner. As for the hill it didn’t cause me any problems except my legs ached especially if I had been for a long walk along the sea front but being nearly 65 that is to be expected. Unfortunately my husband had an operation so we knew by the reviews that no way would he be able to do the hill but then we went away just to get sun to help his recovery and I must say that it certainly has helped him a lot as the weather was sunny every day we were there. Overall I would recommended this Hotel as it was definitely value for money for a Studio, which was spacious and well equipped with Half Board but be wary of the phrase ‘outward facing’ as I am now. Stayed at the Bali for a week from 11th to 18th march.Could not fault the food and the services of the staff which were excellent for a 3 star hotel.Rooms were clean and comfortable with maid service every day. Also tv with english channels, bbc 1,Itv etc.Weather was brilliant for time of year with sun everyday of the week.Hotel entertainment was good and "Bonanza square" had nice cheap bars with lager at 1 euro a pint.Benalmadena is a lovely resort and I would definately go back again and stay at the Bali. Some people thought the hill upto the Bali was a bit steep but I did not find it a problem for me at 63 yrs and I have dodgy knees. One other thing a visit to the marina and the local park are a must.

GOOD BASE

01 April 2009
Stayed at the bali for a long weekend had a large studio room even though we were half board so there was plenty of room.Great to have a few channels to watch sky news bbc1 and music channels if you wanted to stayed in plenty of evening entertainment in the bar. Food was good plenty of choice and fresh. The bali is a good base for beach marina and the palmoa public park. Bonaza square for bars and resturants. If the hill steep for you stop off in murphys bar and have a drink and chat with pauline and jess who will give you any info on the local area

The Bali

19 February 2009
Just spent a week at the Hotel Bali and we found it very central for where we wanted to go. Near to the beach and accessible for the Marina, we used the sub way which is at the bottom of the hill and turn left, keep walking until you see the sign, and it takes you down to the beach, a lot safer than crossing the road. The hotel is near to Bonanza and Ibenza Squares where you will find Restaurants and Bars to suit all taste. We were in Block 3 of the hotel which is currently undergoing a refurb so the room wasnt modern but the views made up for this, rooms were cleaned every day, clean sheets every two days and the hotel is clean and tidy. Excellent entertainment, again to suit all tastes and it is varied so that if you stay for 2 weeks you will not see the same act twice. The food is varied with a good choice at breakfast and evening meals, and if you cant find anything you like you must be really fussy. Lots of daytime activities organised by the Animacion Team to keep you occupied. If you are of poor mobility the hill to walk back up wont be suitable but plenty of taxis so dont let this put you off. Will definately stay here again in the future. Also no hair dryers in bathrooms so take your own and my score of 4 is because of the un modernised room only.

We stayed at the Bali over the Christmas period and it was fantastic the food and the weather were absolutely great. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice and clean. You could not wish for a better place to be at that time of the year. Benalmadena itself is a beautiful town it is clean and there are plenty of bars and eating places. The beach is lovely. The walks are great as well. I can't wait to go next year. A fantastic holiday.

Great 3 star hotel

01 January 2009
We stayed here between Boxing Day and New Years Eve 2008 and we had a lovely break. The hotel is in a good location, once you get down the hill, with the beach just over the road. There was a good choice of food catering for all tastes from pizza and chips through to traditional spanish dishes and the breakfasts were also very good with a large choice. The room was very clean and warm considering the weather was a bit dull and damp some of the time. We even got BBC1 and ITV3 on the TV when we watched it. My only small problem was that this is not the easiest hotel to reach by car and the parking is very limited. We parked at a closed down hotel behind the Bali to avoid the 8 Euros a day parking cost. We only hired a car as it was cheaper than the taxi transfers. The staff were all very friendly and we enjoyed our break. The hotel cost was extremely reasonable for our stay half board and the hotel was very busy over this period which I think shows how popular it is especially with the Brits.

FANTASTIC.....I travelled to this hotel in July / August 2005 with my 2 children aged 11 and 14.We all had a brilliant holiday, staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic, always very warm and plenty to choose from, even for fussy eaters..The dessert table is like smashing (diet out the window).rooms are standard size, air conditioning number 1 class.Pool areas very clean and always plenty of games ect for kids and adults.Thomsons kids club was on everyday except a sunday and it was on 3 evenings a week.My daughter loved it.The entertainment team were superb and worked very hard day and night.Different show on every night,Kool And The Gang were on one of the nights as well. Also in a great area, would defo go back to this hotel...beach 2 mins walk..sealife centre, golf 10 mins walk..tivoli world.A short ride in the mini train..all in all you will never be bored in this lovely resort and great hotel....hope this review helps you.

Review of 'BALI'

17 August 2005
Resort was perfect for a young family - kids never bored - beach spitting distance if fancy a change from pools - but hotel, well we are a family of four 2 adults one 4 yr old and a six month old baby, we were put in a box room with no amenities even though we had pre booked a fridge for the baby’s milk. We kicked up a fuss and were offered nothing so saw rep and she gave us a travel kettle ???? This spoilt the holiday from the start - we tried to be moved to a studio but were told ‘no there is nothing at all’ so we just got on with it but on our second last night met a couple from Bristol who only had one child 8 months old and they had done same as us - kicked up a fuss - and were offered a fridge and a kettle - we were offered none. They said it wasn’t good enough and turned on the water works and were then moved to a studio which they showed us -it was beautiful really big and spacious really modern we would have had a great time in there. The couple had only been there a week as well while we did 2 weeks. We are really unhappy with the reps and the follow up to our situation so we would say if staying in Bali do not opt for hotel but go for studios unless you are travelling alone as the food is quite good although we only ate they 3 times as the food is really cheap in the restaurants around the resort and the resort is huuuuuuuge - loads to do - the pools were great in the hotel apart from on our second day our young boy jumped in pool without his wings on and my wife had to jump in to save him from drowning as the lifeguard on duty was more interested in eyeing the lads up around the pool than actually doing the job she is being paid for so I give the hotel 1 out of 5 basically because of the reps, the management and the lifeguard -but the barstaff 5 out of 5 as they were great really, friendly and helpful and made you feel like a friend not a tourist ..

Review of Bali

16 July 2005
Booked a very last minute trip (booked Sat, arrived Sun)and stayed at Bali.  Didn't expect much as most other hotels were full.  First struck by the very polite and helpful reception staff who always tried to help whatever time of day or evening.  My room was very clean and pleased to say I wasn't stuck in a broom cupboard despite being a single traveller.  Unfortunately I found the plumbing in the hotel kept me awake with loud clanking sound each time a flush was pulled nearby.  Walls paper thin, I could hear guest in room below whistling quite clearly. It was very noisy and busy with children and loud music from pool which put me off.  I spent my days at the Hotel San Fermin nextdoor which was lovely and quiet. Shame since staff were so nice.
