Really Enjoyed the Avenida, Would Recommend

24 June 2008
We go to Benidorm for a short break most years. Have never stayed in the Avenida before and were not disappointed. Great location for the Old Town, Tapas Alley and the better shops (not the cheap, tacky tourist ones). Food and restaurant service of a very good standard, bedroom was OK, but the bathroom was massive with a giant, circular bath. The other facilities were also excellent, with a great rooftop swimming pool.

first visit great

08 June 2008
my girlfriend and i stayed at the avenida may 2008. it was our first visit and a holiday we really enjoyed. we were in a twin room, on a half board basis. breakfast is served between 8 and 10am and consisted of tomatoes, nice sausages, bacon eggs and continental style breakfast. the cooked breakfast was tasty and hot! evening meals were excellent soup, bread rolls, some evenings steak some evenings chicken or pork. the meals were excellent. desserts were varied and delicious! the room itself was of an ample size with a modern bathroom. the sitting area and bar of the hotel are comfortable and tidy. we didn't stay in for the hotel entertainment so can't comment. the roof top pool is quite small and not perhaps for young children, more for teenagers and adults. there is a jacuzzi and rooftop terrace with an adequate amount of sunbeds. the hotel is situated near lots of bars and we enjoyed a fun night out at 'rich bitch' literally a 3 minute walk away, a good laugh at an inexpensive price, its opposite the pig and whistle pub, if you are broad minded go, its good fun. i think avenida caters more for adults than families with kids, but then benidorm will keep all amused. go and enjoy!

Ideal break

05 May 2008
We would definately stay at the Avenida again. The cleanliness was impressive throughout. Staff were all friendly and accomodating. We were half board and found the food excellent, both breakfast and evening meals were tasty, appetising and served at the correct temperature. This hotel was everything we were looking for in a short break in Benidorm

One for the oldies

20 April 2008
Stayed 5 nights here (single dad with 13yr old daughter) in the 2nd half of many peoples school holidays. Despite that the population of the hotel was over 90% over 60s. You could count the under 40s literally on the fingers of 1 hand! Hence the entertainment is all aimed at these people. The hotel is clean & pleasant, good room service & while I wouldn't say it was the best or widest range of food (very good though it was) it certainly wins my award for the most consistently hot food served, no matter what time you went in the restaurant. The special dinner they laid on on our last night was superb, unlimited smoked salmon, giant prawns, mussels, parma ham, strawberries plus free sangria as well as all the usual other tasty fare. Excellent location close to the beach and shops, a downside was the indifferent weather but that can't be helped. So all in all a pleasant stay but be prepared to play "spot the non pensioner" when you go!

Good all round Hotel

13 April 2008
The food was first class, plenty of choice. The position of the Hotel was just right, only 100yds from the beach and the Old Town was on the door step. The rooms were kept very clean and the towels were changed daily. The one down side was, there is no car park, this is shared with a sister hotel and there were no spaces left, even at the begining of April. the public car park was 18.70euros a day, so we parked on the side of the road, a short walk away.

Good Hotel

12 April 2008
We have just returned from our first visit to Benidorm and were delighted with the Avenida Hotel. It was spotlessly clean, with a spacious room, the food was very good. We stayed full board and the choices were excellent. The position of the hotel was ideal - one minute to a beautifully clean sandy beach and less than that to nearest shops! Benidorm old town itself was lovely with loads of shops bars and restaurants to walk to. We would definitely go back again.

Fine hotel great food

12 February 2008
First visit to Benidorm and was recommended the Avenida as one of the best 4 star hotels. It lived up to the name. We were given a top floor room at the rear of the hotel which had sea views. Being away from the road it was very quiet. Rooms are large with a good sized bathroom, TV ,room safe all you need for a comfy stay. Towels changed every day and a good maid service. The dining room and public areas are excellent and the buffet style food is first class. Plenty of choice both for breakfast and evening meals. Other guests were a good mix of Spanish and English making it a very international flavoured hotel. Location is perfect for old town restaurants (Try Michaels in Calle Biga) and terrace cafes and the Levante beach is just 100m away. Stay here and you will not be disappointed. Overall well run, good staff, exceptionally clean and comfortable hotel in an ideal location well away from the " tacky bars and clubs".

Avenida Hotel 8th May 2006

28 May 2007
We have just returned from our 4th visit to the Avenida Hotel, and we found it just as good as on our previous visits. We had a superb balcony room (which we had requested) the food is excellent, the hotel is very clean and the staff are excellent. It is a superb hotel right in the centre of the old town, and we would not consider going to anywhere else but the Avenida. This is the first time we have booked with Alpha Rooms and we also booked the transfer at the same time. Everying went smoothly and we saved ourselves a considerable amount of money.

Review of 'AVENIDA'

Avenida isin a very centralised position in the old town verging on the new town, Benidorm. Maid / cleaning service took place daily and we could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel. Towels were changed daily and bedding twice weekly. Staff very friendly and helpful. Dining room spotless and the food was adequet, a lot of choices with the salade and dessert selections excellent, main courses might not suit everyones taste but enough of a selection to stave off hunger. Our one disadvantage and why I did not give a five rating is that we were on a street facing, first floor room and found it could be very noisy. Would return and would recommend.

The Avenida is a well appointed Hotel equal to its four star status. Rooms and furnishings etc were fine. Its location, though, in the Old Town on a busy street means there's a lot of traffic/passersby/late night reveller noise - not least the waste collection system which sends its lorries - complete with bleepers and flashing lights -  around at 4.00 am picking up the recycle bins etc. Clashing of metal and clattering of bottles, blokes shouting to each other, that sort of thing.

The facilities are very good - esp the rooftop pool area. Food is good but there was often an element of confusion on an evening around getting people seated  - no matter what time you showed up - which meant frequent waits outside the dining room with no clear indication how they were calling people in which led to one or two people muttering and looking at watches etc .  Never more than 10 minutes or so but a bit of a bottleneck which could have been avoided or handled a bit more smoothly.

This was our 4th visit to the Avenida, and this time we took 6 friends. We have now stayed at the hotel 3 times and the apparments once and on each visit the standards have remained as high as when we first visited the hotel. The staff, service, food, yet again, was of a high standard, along with the excelent location in the Old Town, impressed our friends no end.
I don't know if anyone connected with the hotel reads this but I would like to thank the staff, from the reception to the cleaning ladies, for the way in which they maintain high standards.

The hotel is in a good location for all aspects of Benidorm. The staff were friendly and helpful and facilities good. The food was good and plentiful they even managed to produce a birthday cake. Rooms were basic but clean and well maintained. The only problem is parking as the allocated spaces were quite far from the hotel buit this seems to be a general problem in the town. All in all we all had a good stay and would reccommend this hotel.

This Hotel was in an excellent location being in the Old Town of Benidorm. The Hotel whilst not being very big had excelent facilities. The entertainment if you did not wish to leave the Hotel was good - dancing, and a cabaret act. But the best thing about this hotel was the quality of the food provided. We were full board and you could not differenciate between lunch and the evening meal - both of excellent quality. Added to this the proximity of so many local bars/entertainment makes the Avenida an excellent place to stay. Well done alphrooms for having such an excellent hotel for us to choose!
