could not fault this complex
08 June 2008
my boyfriend and i spent one week at the avenida apts in may 2008. we went on a half board basis, taking our meals over the road at the avenida hotel. the food was excellent, hot english style breakfasts serving sausages, bacon, tomato and eggs and evening meals serving half roast chicken, steak, roast potatoes, chips and salads. the desserts consisted of gateaux or ice cream. beware that at evening meal shorts or vest tops for men are not allowed. the guests mainly consist of ages 35+, very few children with few facilities for youngsters. the roof top pool isn't huge but because there are few young guests it doesn't get used much. you need to get a sunbed early because they are limited, considering the amount of guests at the hotel, but reserving sunbeds with towels is not permitted. the apartment was great. the lounge has a settee that converts to a small double bed, however it is only really big enough for two small children or one adult. theres a good size fridge and freezer, microwave, toaster and two ring hob. the bedroom with two single beds in, was a good size and theres plenty of wardrobe space. the bath is small but the shower is warm and powerful. do request an apartment overlooking the street as the street entertainers are enjoyable to watch. the only english channel in the apts is CNN and theres a refundable 60 euro deposit payable for the remote controls for the TV and air con. there is also the option of paying the deposit in sterling which is £50, returnable at the end of your stay. the air con is in the lounge only, so before we went out of an evening we left the air con on and opened the bedroom door to cool the whole apt as the bedroom is really hot with no air con unit or windows! the complex is very quiet and the reception staff are on 24 hrs. we hired a safe at 6euros a week but i think its pretty safe there. the apartments are clean with plenty of towels and soap and shampoo provided. you will enjoy your stay its impossible not to .

Good Value
24 March 2008
Stayed for 2 weeks in 2 bedroom apartment starting 9th March. Good points Clean, staff friendly close to beach ameneties and nice size rooms. Bad points close to street which was noisy at night as was an all night pizza shop opposite serving drinks which attracted many groups, small balcony, view from ours was of a window of a dentists with chair on view not great. Though we had an 18 month old child he still slept ok as corridors of apartments were not too noisy.

WYSIWUG
15 March 2008
We stayed at the Avenida Apartments from 1st March 2008 - 8th March 2008. We were in room 305 which faced onto the side street to the right of the entrance to the apartments. Our bedroom was very very small, but clean, but not suitable for reading in bed due to the poor lighting. We had stayed at the Avenida Hotel previously, and we deliberately selected the apartments so that we could have somewhere comfy to sit and read and relax at the end of the day. We were disappointed to find a "futon" type sofa in the lounge, which was extremely uncomfortable to sit on. The only other alternative was the 3 dining chairs or the two plastic balcony chairs. The location is good. It is definitely noisy, but we found the balcony doors very effective at shutting the noise out. And when you close the hall door which separates the lounge from the bedroom/bathroom all was quiet. There was a bit of "corridor noise" but nothing to keep us awake. To be honest, most of the noise, moving furniture, talking, banging doors etc., early morning, was the fault of the cleaning staff. At the end of the day, you what you see is what you get when you stay at the Avenida Apartments. The staff were very professional and polite and helpful. We used the sun loungers at the pool as a quiet place to sit and read and enjoy the sun.

Terrific Value
15 January 2008
Stayed for one week in January 2008. Apartment clean and spacious with balcony and large bedroom. Staff were absolutely brilliant, we holiday quite a bit and they were the best we have ever come across. Polite, friendly, helpful and charming. Position of apartments couldn't have been better, set in the Old Town but close enough to everything on offer in Benidorm. New town about 20-30mins walk away, but regular cheap bus service. Plenty of places to eat and drink and would suggest people try the narrow back streets of the Old Town as the range of bars and restaurants was outstanding. This was our first trip to Benidorm but certainly not our last and we would return to the Avenida Apartments without hesitation.
