Good but seen better

Like most things in life, you get what you pay for and Hotel Auteuil Tour Eiffel is no exception. We wanted a bit more thus had to pay a bit more. The neighbourhood where the hotel is located is considered posh. Hotel was decent and for the three nights we were there, we were happy and pleased with the service. Staff were friendly and helpful. There are a number of metro stations not far away (ie 5-10 mins walk) from the hotel and the one we found most uselful was Jasmin. Taxi in Paris was more affordable than we expected, 15-20 euros to Gare Du Nord from the hotel. Breakfast was basic but good if the plates were replenished. Room and toilet were clean. Overall value for money we would say okay - definitely not a budget hotel.

Magnifique

Having just returned from our short break in Paris !!! Thanks to Ryan Air we were two days late getting home, but the up side was this hotel. Our origonal two nights in a superior room was great. Very clean very comfortable and the hotel staff were great. Breakfast was OK and included in the price so why not, bread croissants cerial juices and warmish eggs and ham all in all it got you started in the morning. If you dont mind walking the hotel seems a bit far out but once mastered the metro, Mirabeau is only a 5 min walk to the right as you leave the hotel. "WARNING" the bar in the hotel is some what outrageous with it's bar prices 9 euros for a pint of beer and 7.50 for a measure of spirit(vodka, gin etc). For a great meal goround the corner to the left as you leave the hotel and past the Porsche garage we found Restaurant CHAUMETTE a family run restaurant with limited space but worth the wait if you choose to do so, but beware the veal dish it is very French and is made up of parts of the head !!! not for the faint hearted. Further up the road on the corner is a typical bistro which serves great food and a great breakfast for 8.50 euros. Trust me book this hotel with Alpha Rooms as we had to book back in direct due to our cacellation of the flight home and it was conciderably more, thanks again Alpha Rooms a great success.

Ok but not great

27 October 2007
I stayed here with my wife and 4 year old daughter in October 2007. The reception area of the hotel and downstairs areas including breakfast room are ok. The rest of the hotel looks like it could do with a spruce up. We were given a room on the 6th Floor and unpacked everything only to find that the safe in the room did not work and had to repack and move rooms. Not particularly what we needed on check in. The hotel did provide some help for the move and the general attitude of the reception staff was good. What really let the hotel down was the breakfast. The hotel charges guests 16 euros for a continental breakfast which is simply not worth it. My advice is unless you get it included free as we did booking through alpharooms then you would be better using one of the many patisseries nearby. What made it worse was the rediculous service at breakfast. Everyday we had to wait as there were no plates cups glassess and many of the breakfast items had run out. It took my wife 15 minuits one morning to get a cup of coffee. Basically the breakfast is being served by young girls (students) that could not manage the situation. The hotel is reasonably well situated for getting around paris and is in a quiet area.
