Good Hotel and Great Town

10 June 2008
The Atrium is in an excellent location only 10 minute walk from the Old Town and the bus and train stations are both situated behind the Galeria Krakowska shopping centre again a 10 minute walk along Krzywa Street past a lovely fresh fruit and vegetable market. The hotel staff were polite and helpful and all spoke English. Our room no 302 on the 3rd floor at the front was very clean but small for a double room and was nothing like the spacious double room shown on the hotel brochure and although the hotel downstairs has air-conditioning the bedroom didn't. The Continental breakfast was excellent with a very good choice of hot and cold dishes. It might be of some interest that at this present moment June 2008 there is a building site opposite the front of the hotel and work begins at 6.45am. Krakow is a great town and everyone everyone speaks English we would stay at this good budget hotel again but ask for a larger room. We would give this hotel 4 out of 5.

Good Location

05 May 2008
We stayed at the Atrium for 5 nights checking out on 5 May. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and, mostly, spoke English. Arriving late we ate in the hotel restaurant which was inexpensive and good value, the food was of decent quality too. The only drawback is the size of the quilts and hardness of the beds. But these are just minor issues. The old town was only a short walk away.

ATRIUM HOTEL

02 May 2008
I spent 5 nights from 24th to the 29th April 2008 at the Atrium hotel in Krakow, with my husband and his brother and wife. I booked 2 double rooms and was very disappointed when one of them (ours) had 2 single beds on opposite sides of the room. The hotel receptionist said the double room wasn't guaranteed and as they were very full there wasn't anything she could do about it! Once I explained this was my husbands 70th birthday treat, we were given a different room which was more spacious and had a double and 2 single beds. We were surprised there was no kettle or cups in the room and none were available in the hotel. I bought a small kettle for £10 from the excellent market 50yards from the hotel. The room was clean and very comfortable and we were able to use an extra duvet from a spare bed as they were very small - single and doubles were the same size!I missed my bath in the bathroom but it was a good shower. There was a small lounge area with very comfy chairs and free internet access which was a bonus. Breakfast was good. All the staff at the hotel were very polite, friendly and helpful, particularly the ladies on reception. All spoke excellent English. The location of the hotel couldn't have been better. It was only a very short walk to the Main Square, the Train and Bus Stations and only 100yards to the nearest tram stop. We had a great holiday and I'd be pleased to recommend this hotel and would definitely go back. Krakow was fantastic and exceeded all our expectations in every way.

Krakow Nights

17 April 2008
April 2008. We had a really enjoyable 5 night stay at The Atrium Hotel which we found to be centrally located and good value for money. The staff were polite and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. To be picky the only drawback was the bedlinen. This may seem petty and not a major problem but when you are fighting over a tiny duvet in the middle of the night you'll appreciate what I mean. Even the curtains don't meet in the middle and this makes what is otherwise a quality hotel feel rather basic. There is a good choice at breakfast and restaurant staff are very helpful. Overall a good hotel in a great location. We would be happy to recommend it. Krakow is amazing.

Great Hotel

18 December 2007
What a fantastic location, the rooms were warm and very clean. We were able to check in early at 11am with no fuss or additional charge. The food in the restaurant was really good and inexpensive - 4 main courses, a bottle of wine & 4 coffees all for less than £35 what more can I say. Loads of choice for breakfast, attentive and helpful staff would definitely go back.

Really good budget hotel

17 December 2007
Stayed here with my wife to do the Xmas market thing. The hotel is 5 mins from the main square. If you are on a lower floor and there at the w/e you may hear some revellers passing by on their way home after a good night on the vodka!!. When you turn up do not be alarmed if you smell smoke in the foyer. This is Poland, they do not have our "enlightened" anti-smoking laws yet. The rooms are spotless, if slightly sparse. The matress was a little hard for my liking ( but I am a little fussy). The shower was great. Breakfast is the buffet style, with cereals, cold meats/ cheese/ toaster/ bread etc.. Nothing special, but it saves you having to buy one before you get your guidebook out. Would I use again - yes, absolutely. It is good value, well located and clean. By the way - Krakow is amazing, go before the British stags really get going there and the prices go up.

Ace Atrium

02 December 2007
we stayed at the atrium from 29th nov to 1st dec. It was a ladies christmas trip. We were all very impressed with the hotel the rooms are modern and very comfortable and very important for us ladies had hair dryers. The staff were very friendly and helpful, advising us about sites etc and booking taxis, and resavations for us.It is very well run and very quiet so we had no trouble sleeping. The hotel is in an ideal spot just a short walk from main square which meant we didnt need transport to the sites, bars, shops etc. As you come out of the hotel there is a local market which is worth having a wonder around. We would certainly go and would recommend it to family and friends.

TOP NOTCH

24 November 2007
Having read previous reviews we booked with confidence, and when we arrived was totally pleased about every aspect of the hotel.we were severn male travellers who had just arrived from a great trip to Zakopane, we arrived around 7pm so rather than look for somewhere to eat we settled for the hotel restraunt, the food from starter to desert was excellent and not expensive, one other thing to mention is is beer of course !! wich all our party agreed was the best draught beer we had tasted during our trip and is around £1 a pint. the staff were plaesant and very helpfull, imaculatly clean hotel, in a great location, but the value for money could not be matched. would go back anytime we travel to poland. john

Great Value For Money

20 November 2007
Great location, a short walk from the main square. Clean , largish rooms. Excellent shower (if cubicle a tad tight for the larger man!) Staff helpful and friendly. Short walk to characterful market, tram stop, shopping centre and railway station. All in all a great location for the price. Would certainly go back again.

Can't go wrong

31 October 2007
Couldn't have picked a better hotel for our stay, we were 3 women in or prime looking for somewhere clean, central and affordable and ended up getting much more than that. Just around the corner from the market, just down the road from the main shopping centre (it'll put a smile on your face ladies) and just a few mins walk from main square which is surrounded by bars, resturants and even more shops (Very happy days). Staff couldn't be more helpful and arranged excursions for us too even the taxi guys were a scream and very helpful. We arrived very early in the morning bout 7.30am and they gave us our room and didn't charge an extra penny. The rooms were HUGE and very very clean,,,couldn't ask for more and will definately go back again no problem

Atrium Hotel

26 June 2007
Food was great esp evening meals. Taxi was arranged from the Hotel and although the flight was 1hr 30mins late, taxi driver still waiting for us to arrive. Hotel arranged trips to Aushwich and Saltmines. Only downside was we arrived after 11pm and could only get sandwiches to eat and had to take them to our rooms to eat as restaurant was closed. Rooms were massive and spotless. Hotel is very very central. Is highly recommended!!

Excellent Hotel. Very Clean - very good breakfast. In a good location close to the centre of the historic area - never needed a taxi or tram, everthing was within walking distance. Nice friendly reception upon arrival. Would stay there again and will recommend.

Review of 'ATRIUM'

26 February 2007
Stayed with a group of friends at the Atrium Feb 2007 for 2 nights having spent a week skiing at Zakopane.  Pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel and up to date facilities but did lack character. Free internet access invaluable when flights were cancelled. Reception staff O.K, but not as friendly as the locals we had met while in the mountains. This may be down the to the countryside/city divide you find in most places. Atrium could do with a bigger lounge area for groups to relax, rather than use the tables and chairs in the restaurant area.Decided to eat at the hotel on our last night - big mistake.  Food very poor and our waiter miserable. A real shame as throughout our 10 night stay in Poland every restaurant held a warm welcome with excellent local, delicious food. Hotel in easy, central location.
