thought i would write a review while everything is fresh in my mind. Me and my girlfriend have just returned from atalaya apartments and have enjoyed our stay and would definately return. Our apartment doors opened out more or less onto the pool which was brilliant apartments were cleaned daily thoroughly . there are pool tables two pools one of which was being worked on so was closed but it didnt matter as the one we opened our door onto was the one in use . pool bar was average but very clean and friendly , spar shop was very handy for newspapers suncreams and near enough anything else that you would want whilst away .
The town itself was wonderful and our location couldnt have been better left at the casino for restaraunts and quiet bars and right for busy bars and livlier restaraunts and a 3 euro cab ride to the old town where the rstaraunts were great and very relaxing. where as the town itself (new town) can be busy and a lot of the bars are 18-30 type places which suited us fine .. beaches were nice shame the sand is black but hey the pool made up for it all in all i would defvinately return to puerto del carmen and atalaya very good great holiday .... ps take plenty of suncream

Well...where shall I begin?!? Got back from Atalaya at 2am this morning and I am eager to get a revew on here!! Got everything we could have asked for - apartment were clean, in an ideal location - although if you like Old Town it's a little to far to walk to every day- nice pool, but the top pool was being done up (once it is done it will be nice as there's fantastic sea views up there). There's a spa supermarket next to the hotel - ideal for selfcatering.
As for the resort itself - lots to do, lots of resturaunts to choose from and a nice beach. One thing I would recomend to you is if you are tempted by the Lanis chain visit Cafe La Ola as the food and the sea views are brill as is the flaminco night on Fridays, but dont drink too much red wine like we did! I would not recomend going to any other Lanis as they are over rated!
The weather was nice - not too hot as the Lanzarote wind kept you cool.
Go on the Grand tour if you want to see all the highlights of Lanzarote in one day - they are brill!
Anyway I could go on and on and on. Just to sum it up - everyone I spoke to said they will be returning to Atalaya.

just returned. Requested beforehand a ground floor apartment and that is exactly what we got overlooking the pool, which was excellent for our 3 year old son. The reception staff on arrival we thought a little dour, how misconceiving this can be. They turned out to be superb both for information on places to go and assisting my husband after he had the hire car towed away in Arrecife. Basic apartment but clean and everything one needed. No hills to walk up, close to the beach and all amenities but still quiet. Would recommend for young families.

Just returned from lovely relaxing stay at the Atalaya apartments - stayed on the top level which was really quiet and peaceful, with sea views and rustling palm trees. Friendly reception staff and maid service excellent - have returned feeling really relaxed and chilled out. Would recommend for any age group, though higher level may not suit less able people.

The Atalaya apartments were extremely spacious, well maintained, excellent maid service, beautiful views, centrally located and the steps kept us well fit! We stayed on the upper block which was quieter and near to the Spar. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would certainly stay here again and book through Alpha Rooms as they were the cheapest.

Have returned reluctantly from Atalaya Apartments, Lanzarote. Beautiful sea view, gardens, pools and excellent staff i.e. maid service, maintenance and reception (many thanks to all). Breakfast in the sun on large balcony my idea of heaven. 66 steps leading up to top apartments are just my age and keep me fit. Ready to book again and certainly with Alpha Rooms.com

My Husband and i recently stayed at these apartments after studying the reviews and were not dissapointed They are well mantained and in a good location Staff are very freindly and make you feel welcome we will definately use these apartments again when we return to Lanzarote later in the year

We stayed here last July and were very happy with our accomodation and service. One thing I really liked was the fact there was no entertainment so if you just want to go home to bed at night there was no noise and you could really relax, also the pool wasn't being used for volleyball/ games etc by kids clubs as had happened before on other holidays where we could not use it on certain hours. Our girls were 6 and 8 and really loved it - we found a great beach down the side of a restaurant 2 mins away and went there most days. There are a lot of nice places to eat along the seafront at really reasonable prices. Friendly staff, and safe apartments, particularly liked that there were not sliding patio doors on balcony but proper locking doors. Would recommend these apartments.

I checked out reviews for various places for myself Partner & our 3 year old and took their word....
I'm so glad I did - These apartments have no faults at all and believe me I travel alot!!
The staff (reception/security/garden/pool/bar/cleaners) were all lovely - reception staff & pool bar staff especially!!! - thank you. They loved the kids and were so pleasant.
The rooms are clean well presented and secure...the whole complex is secure and looked after...no chance of a break in as it's located and and planned out well!
The pool was a little cold but filtered as all pools are now but ok once in - the weather was fantastic so out little boy played in small childrens pool which was ideal.
There's a supermarket right next door with everything you need...
About 20 mins walk to old town - 10 to main beach but little beaches 2 mins away. As I say excellently located for everything!
So basically - we would highly recommend these apartments to young couples/familes of all ages and elderly - some reviews moaned about steps - there was eight to our apartment!!! - only thing I'd wish I'd have asked for is a pool side apartment as they were lovely right on pool but due to security issues in another resort prior I always ask for higher floor....SO MAKE SURE YOU ask for pool side apartment in main apartment areas they are lovely! - there's pool tables too for who ever - basically we could not ask for anymore!!!
Enjoy if you decide to book - well worth it!!

Our apartment was spacious, regularly cleaned and has a nice location (30 second walk to main strip). We fully recommend staying here. Its very cheap for what you get and the staff were friendly. Overall we are very suprised at how nice the apartment was as it only cost £150 for the whole week. We paid over £400 for a 5 star hotel in algarve this year and it was nowhere near as nice as our stay in lanzarote. Definately going back next october. Perfect Winter Sun and a perfect place to stay.

Seen plenty of reviews on different sites for these apartments and vast majority raved about them so made our choice easy. We've just this second returned so thought I'd give a more accurate review... The apartments are very clean without being spotless, the maid service is good (they don't come on Mondays and Fridays), but could do with the towels changing a little more often. The facilities in the aptmts are basic but adequate (note there isn't an iron, just an ironing board contrary to what the site says). The rooms can get very warm at night and it's pretty pointless hiring a fan cos it just moves the warm air about! 2 Pools are ok without being spectacular. Reception staff are excellent as are the brekkies. Spar shop next door which is ideal, but beware of the steps....really knackers you! The rooms can be a little noisy sometimes especially if you're based at the top end (bin men come very early in a morning!). I would give it a 3.5 out of 5, certainly wouldn't say don't go there it's fine, but it's not the perfect paradise that a lot of reviewers have said. Not many brollies around the pool so be warned, it was very hot!

these apartments are an ideal place to stay in lanzarote, easy to walk to all the bars restaurants and the beach. the rooms are basic and the beds being twins pushed together for a double not ideal, but for the price it offers everything needed for a cheap and chearfull self catering holiday. we also stayed at the top of the sairs but with these rooms having a sea view and all day sun and a seperate and sizable pool i would defo recomend asking to be there too. also a note, i have never stayed anywhere so quiet. everyone around the pool and complex seemed to be whispering and in the mornings it was so peacefull it was untrue sitting on the balcony looking over the sea.

I have been going to Lanzarote since 1994 and have stayed in various apartments in Puerto del Carmen/Costa Teguise. However, stumbled on the Atalaya by chance in 2002 and have now stayed their 4 times, 3 times in the same apartment. The staff are great, they really do make sure that your requests, comments are noted. Downside is that the upper apartments are reached via a series of steps, little bit difficult for the elderly, but the apartments are really well worth it. Highly recommended.

I have been going to Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote since 1991 and cannot fault the resort. I have stayed at the Atalaya on many occassions and cannot fault them. Centre of the resort, very clean, staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The only time I don't stay here is if the Atalaya is fully booked. Highly recommended.
