Having read the reviews and checked the maps a group of 4 of us aged 25 - 35 decided on the Artemis as the hotel looked nice and we didnt mind a bit of a walk to town, however a walk to town is out of the question if you want to have any energy left to enjoy the sites when you get there!
The hotel itself is great, very modern decor, friendly staff, good breakfast and nice rooms. In heindsight we should have stayed at a lesser hotel nearer all the action however this is in no way shape or form a reflection of our experience in the artemis.
amsterdam itself was great with some beutiful sights and the culture visable at every turn but beware of the prices as a taxi from the gotel will cost you 24 Euros and a round of 4 beers anywhere near the town centre will cost you about the same.
if you want a nice hotel away from the hussle and bussle of the town and dont mind the taxi ride then i dont thinks you could do much better than the artemis!
