Nice hotel, poor location

Having read the reviews and checked the maps a group of 4 of us aged 25 - 35 decided on the Artemis as the hotel looked nice and we didnt mind a bit of a walk to town, however a walk to town is out of the question if you want to have any energy left to enjoy the sites when you get there! The hotel itself is great, very modern decor, friendly staff, good breakfast and nice rooms. In heindsight we should have stayed at a lesser hotel nearer all the action however this is in no way shape or form a reflection of our experience in the artemis. amsterdam itself was great with some beutiful sights and the culture visable at every turn but beware of the prices as a taxi from the gotel will cost you 24 Euros and a round of 4 beers anywhere near the town centre will cost you about the same. if you want a nice hotel away from the hussle and bussle of the town and dont mind the taxi ride then i dont thinks you could do much better than the artemis!

GREAT Hotel!!!

twice a year i must stay in a hotel near Amsterdam.
It is not easy to find something near that big city were you can find all kind of comfort. This time we found by internet this hotel on alpharoom.com and we are verry pleased with the stay we had and also the price we payed. The braekfest was great and the rooms were supurp. We are dutch people and we are verry pleased with the alpharoom.com site on internet and i'm sure that we will book more hotels in the futere by them.

With its state of the art features we found this hotel catered to our every need, the level of service was 100% at extremely reasonable prices, we will definetly be staying at this hotel again in the near future and we highly recomend this hotel.

Review of 'ARTEMIS AMSTERDAM'

This is a new and modern hotel. Close to the highway ring (but not disturbed by it), is easy to reach by car, tram or bus.

The hotel is situated in a residential suburb, with some business buildings close to it, and, though there isn't any touristic attractions near the hotel, the city center is at 15-20 min of tram ride. Very recommendable to get rid of traffic jams, or parking problems (just a few and expensive car parks in Amsterdam city center).

The hotel itself is a Dutch Design Hotel, very interesting. You find Dutch art pieces everywhere (even at your bathroom walls!). The rooms are very nice, clean, and confortable. The furniture is new and modern.

The hotel has a lot of good facilities, including free parking, internet access and others. The restaurant is Dutch designed as well, and offers good quality food.

Summarizing: very recommendable, excellent quality and good price.
