Just right

19 August 2008
Just returned from staying at the Ars hotel and previous reviews were accurate. When staying you will need to either bus into town or taxi which we did [16 to 20 euros depending on where you are,) Take hotel business card out with you to show drivers when returning as some unfamiliar with the location. No evening snacks at the hotel but got restaurants and pizzas nearby on the main road. Hotel has small bar(no beer! so pop round the corner to the shop] staff friendly and helpful [never waited more than 3 mins for a taxi to appear], rooms smallish but clean, smart and just right after a long days sightseeing. Unforgetable holiday complemented by staying here. Enjoy!

The room was fab, we had a double with a terrace/balcony on the top floor. The staff where all exceptionally friendly and helpful.

On our first morning the receptionist gave us a map and marked out the main bus route into Rome city centre from the hotel...the number 60, which takes about 20 to 30 mins to get into the centre of Rome. You can purchase 3 day travel cards for 11 euros which allow unlimted travel day and night.

A taxi from Rome Ciampino airport cost us 45 euros but make sure you have a copy of the hotel's full address and map of the location because our taxi driver struggled to find the hotel.

We would recommend anyone to stay here and have already passed on how impressed we were with the hotel to friends and family who are thinking of visiting Rome.

The ARS was overall a pleasnt experience and the breakfast had decent coffee and was lovely all round. The location was in a nice quite residential area with good pizzerias closeby and good access to Termini (the main railway station in Rome).I was dissapointed by the customer service- they failed to pick us up at the airport for pre-arranged transfer, the information at the desk was incomplete and our room had no safe and also a radiator leak. All of that aside, the breakfasts and the magic of Rome compensated an made this a holiday that i will never forget!
