Review of 'Arquus'

Arquus is in a great location on the main street, not far from the beach, pubs, clubs and restaurants. Very basic but perfectly liveable. Watch out for having to pay 100 euros deposit at the start of your stay - this dug right into our holiday money. Also, they insist you take your rubbish out rather than the cleaner?? The only downside was that on Saturday night/morning, it was extremely noisy below when one of the clubs kicked out - this went on from 4am - 5.30am. Other than that - a very good basic budget choice.

clean and basic but only managed one night and asked to be moved!!! street noise outside horrendous allnight long. Arquus not a family complex-- it was all young single men-- very noisy in corridor --shouting banging drunk lads to early hours of morning. Salou -- itself plenty to do and nice beaches. new accomadation was much better

Very very basic apartment....Kettle and Toaster had to be hired at extra charge...Apartment was in need of very good clean.... Was told it was wheelchair friendly but 6 inch step and very steep ramp made it impossible without help...

The resort itself is fantastic but these apts. leave a lot to be desired. On arrival we were given our keys but not given any directions to our apartments (this is a four building complex with 2 on each side of the street. For the rest of the week we saw people wandering around with suitcases looking for their apartments. Our linen was left in a bag in the room but it was dirty linen & we had to go back across the road to request clean linen. Make sure to bring bath towels with you as they are not provided and we were given 2 hand towels to last a week. The apts. themselves seemed like they had not even been swept. In our apt. alone we requested the repair man 3 times because of faults. Almost everything has to be hired, kettle toaster etc. The pool is shaded most of the day. They say you get what you pay for but we didn't even get that. I will return to Salou that's for sure but not these apartments.

We stayed in Arquus 1V which we felt was in a good place just away from the main nightclub and noise area. Not to far to walk to Capellans beach. Plenty of bars in area catering for allsorts. The apartments themselves we thought require re-furbishment very dirty on the outside, inside enough room etc (1 bedroom) balcony a good size but unfortunately for us the sun never shone on this side of the building so couldn't relax and sunbathe etc.We never saw a chambermaid all week so we had same towels etc.Oven hob took 2 hours to warm water for a brew!! Bed linen was given to you in a bag so that you could change your own as and when you pleased. We have used alpharooms about 10 times in the last 2 years and we felt this was one of the worst we have been in ,but we did only pay £119 for a week and the old saying get what you pay for springs to mind. We only wanted a cheap and cheeful week off work so we can't complain. Probably wouldn't go back to this complex.
