March 2008. We found the Ariston to be very clean and all the staff very freindly and polite. We used the local bars and restaraunts which there were quite a few of very near the hotel and the food was superb. Read up on and use the public transport before you leave as it is an excellent way of getting in and out of the city. My top tips would be never change money on the street ! Just use a cashpoint ! Never order a meal or even a snack without seeing a price list or a menu with prices on, You will get a nasty suprise when the bill comes. Finally enjoy Prague it's a great city.

We arrived to a refurbished room which was extremely big with en suite bathroom which was lovely and modern. Decor was good, with tele and fridge. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was more than adequate. Although we are in our late 50s we enjoyed the walk into the centre...10 minutes or so and only used the tram on the last day for the experience. We were warned about the pickpockets, which seems to be anywhere in the world these days, and never took handbags, etc., out with us. Prague is a fabulous place and the Ariston was an excellent choice. The only downsie was the noise of the trams but we were so worn out with all the walking it wasn't much of a problem at all. For the price it was excellent....would definitely return.

Review of 'ARISTON' and Prague

29 March 2005
My girlfriend and I were there in February 2005 for the first time. The hotel was well kept with the maids constantly cleaning up and freshning up rooms. The rooms were extremely spacious and the toilet area and shower very clean. Breakfast was simple but nice, hot and cold selections. The hotel staff were always helpful and spoke good english (always good for those who dont do languages). The hotel is not central to the more tourist area but it is on a main road and therefore very simple to get a tram. Walking would take about 15-20 minutes to main square. There was a lot of graffitti around the area but this seemed to be a familair site all around Prague so I would say not to be put off this hotel or Prague due to this. All in this short break was extremely enjoyable and I would advise anyone to try it.

A delightful three days in Prague!

The Ariston is a well-maintained, friendly hotel.  Our bedroom was nicely furnished and comfortable.  The bathroom was bright, modern and in excellent working order.  We enjoyed a very pleasant breakfast with as much as we could eat of both Cooked and Continental menus.  The hotel's receptionists made us feel really welcome and were very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to booking excursions around Prague.  The one main drawback is that the Hotel Ariston has no bar or lounge.  However, it's  not far from a good choice of bars and restaurants.  Don't be put off by the graffitti as you approach the hotel.  This is excellent value for money.
