Really Nice Place

01 July 2008
My wife and I live in Lanzarote and often pop over to Fuerteventura for a short break as it means we can be on holiday so to speak in less than an hour. We picked the Arena totally at random last Thursday afternoon [26th June 2008] and went across on Friday afternoon for a weekend break. We took the all inclusive option as we wanted to totally chill out. All I can say is the same as Jenny M below. Wow this place is hard to beat. The food is lovely and the staff are all helpful and very friendly. The minute we arrived at reception we were knocked out at how relaxed and friendly the atomsphere was. Rooms were spotless and very comfortable. At breakfast if you wanted bacon it was cooked freshly and individually for you. As were the fried eggs. The choice of food was very good at breakfast and all other times, there was always a fruit basket brimming with apples, oranges and bananas etc. The only thing I could possibly pick holes in was the night time entertainment which left a bit to be desired. The animation girl was great I hasten to add and really great with the kids. The pool bar itself was a bit odd. Doesnt exactly lend itself to creating an atomsphere where you would want to congregate with others for a laugh. But that is being very picky. Overall I would certainly reccoment this hotel to anyone and we will most certainly be returning at the earliest opportunity.

great hotel - disappointing buffet

09 March 2008
I have just returned from staying at the hotel arena for one week with my sister. I loved the pool area, the staff, the rooms, the beds which were so comfortable and the fact that you could get breakfast right up until 10.30am. Allso loved the location which is away from the main centre but close to the beautiful beach and sand dunes. the only disappointment for me was the food, which was ok but not delicious. most of the fruit at the breakfast buffet was tinned, the bacon very greasy and fatty and the sausages were undercooked on 2 occasions. the evening buffet a bit hit and miss i.e. and the 'special' on 3 occasions during one week was noodles with a sauce. A bit more quality food would have made all the difference. The cafe latte at the breakfast was gorgeous and I drank far too much. Overall had a great holiday and the weather was fabulous considering it was early march. I would defo stay there again but not half board.

WOW - This place is hard to beat!

27 July 2007
I booked this hotel last minute, so to be honest my expectations weren't very high, but all I can say, once again is WOW! My brother and his family have stayed in Corralejo for the past 3/4 years and have always been happy with where they’ve stayed. He met me as I arrived at my hotel to help me book in etc as he'd arrived a few days previous, and upon entering my room he was gobsmacked! One phrase described how he felt 'GREEN WITH ENVY', my room and the facilities I had access to were miles ahead of his! The room was air-conditioned, had a fridge, a huge balcony, a beautifully tiled bathroom with a large mirror, the most powerful shower I've ever experienced (no joke!), a massive bed, lovely sliding mirrored wardrobes, was very spacious with a sofa and coffee table and of course a TV which had free channels unlike his 'pay-per-view' ones! I was staying half-board at the Arena, the food was really good and set out in a buffet style, both meals were well varied and the staff lovely. At night meats were cooked fresh in front of you on a hot plate, there was always fresh fruit in the morning and at night and all in all, I couldn't have anticipated the quality of the food. Hotel Arena is ideal for a quieter holiday; it has two ample swimming pools, a small shallow child's pool, comfortable sun loungers, a snack bar by the pool, a raised Jacuzzi and showers by the side to rinse yourself off. The reception staff were excellent and were always very well-mannered, the cleaning staff were always on hand if you needed fresh towels or something cleaned in your room, and were just as happy to leave you be if you preferred! I would rate this hotel very highly and wouldn't hesitate to return tomorrow (if I'd the money for a second holiday so soon!) It’s about a 10 minute, brisk walk from the centre of Corralejo, but it’s a pleasant walk, and allows you to burn off the calories you indulged in during the meals provided! If however, you’re not as willing to walk, for just over 3 euros a taxi will take you into town! I challenge anyone to find fault with this hotel, I am VERY picky, and I was pleased with a capital P!!!
