just returned from 1 weeks holiday at the arena dorada. When we arrived around 9pm at night reception not open only a note on door of our room no a passing couple told us the key would be in the room if we hadnt seen them we would not have known. Rooms ok quite roomy. Maids not very good in complex changed towels once in a week took old towels away but only left us with one towel. Location is perfect though for the strip at daytime and night 2 mins from beach perfect i mean lets be honest you get what you pay for if you want a cheap week and somewhere just to lay your head then its perfect!!!

Great holiday

11 July 2009
just back from our stay in Arena Dorada in June 09 and we really had an excellent holiday. Reception staff were nice and friendly and always had an approachable manner. The apartments are in a great location just a few minutes from anywhere in the new town area. I have stayed in the resort alot and this holiday was by far the most enjoyable apart from one small problem we faced on our first night. Before going to bed, we made sure all windows and vents were closed but when we woke up the next morning we were covered in mosquito bites. A lady from reception sent us to buy mosquito plugs from the nearby supermarket but this made no difference at all. On our last few days on holiday we were covered in bites so much so that I had them around my eyes. We still enjoyed our time in arena dorada but one note of advice, ask for an apartment looking over the pool rather than block B which is surrounded by bins and trees(mosquito magnets.) Hope this doesnt out anyone staying here because its a good place to stay!! enjoy :)

Lovely

29 June 2009
We had a lovely stay at arena dorada. we arrived late and found a note on the reception door saying our key was in the room. Our room was large and spacious. We had a kitchen living area, bathroom and bedroom. We also had a balcony with clothes horse and table and chairs. Our bed was two large single beds piushed together. The shower was really good and strong with plenty of hot water. The room was cleaned four times in the week. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful they printed our flight details for free and organised a taxi. There was also internet access in the reception area. The pool was fab really big. There was also a small kiddies pool, jacuzzi and shower by the pool. There were plenty of deck chairs and umbrellas provided. There was drinks and snacks available in the poolside bar. The location was brilliant it was directly behind McDonalds on the main strip. It was less than a minute walk to one of the nicest beaches. Also in the middle of good restaurants and approx a 15 minute walk from the old town, very central. Only things I would have to fault were the breakfast which was 4 euro for a continental buffet and the fact that there was no air conditioning in the rooms. We got this hotel for 130euro for the week which was an absolute bargain would definately recommend it and return to it.

brilliant place !!!

I just loved the place from the moment we arrived, this was my second stay at puerto del carmen, only first time staying at the Arena Durada. The reception staff where very friendly, I had no problem checking in, the room D14 at the very back was spotless did not see one cochroche the whole week we stayed which is a first!! bed linen was changed once and towels changed3 times in the week..in our appt we had net mesh on the windows which meant at night you could leave the window open as it is very warm (June)..The appt was very spacious There was no kettle, but to be honest boiling a pot of water really wasnt that difficult, you'd be sad to let this bother you really....The pool was fresh water, plenty off sun beds, also for the sun beds they have a canopae where they have mats to place on top so as its more comfortable to lie on, There is also a jacuzzi which is really good to cool down in...I cannot comment on bar food as I just ate out at meals times...The location....Fantasic across the road from the beach literally!! Its right on the main strip!!!Chicitos, is a lovely place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner...food prices are great...example breakfast 2euro 50 for full eng, sausage bacon egg beans toast chips and tea or coffee....anyways hope this helps you, but I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel!!!!

Unhappy

15 June 2009
Hello all, Myself and a friend stayed at arena dorada in june 2009, when we arrived at reception we got great customer service, they where very friendly. first impressions where great the 1 bedroom appartment was huge and it looked very clean. the hotel itself is in a great location its right in the centre. But after the first night of staying here, we woke up with bites all over us, and we where very itchy, we just thought it was mosquitoes, well it was that aswell as flees in the bed, i do not recomend this hotel to anyone, when we confrounted the girl on reception about the problem, she gave us a big can of bug spray which she had behind the counter.... I was really disapointed, and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent and Highly recommended

04 November 2008
Hello one and all..we are from Brighton and as we all know we have had an appalling summer. We stay in Puerto Del Carmen frequently and this year decided to try the Arena Dorada. Well for the price all I can say is these apartments are brilliant..clean...well equipped - but take a travel kettle,. The rooms cleaned frequently in the afternoons, so as not to disturb us late night owls who like a good drink the night before. The area is excellent and particulary, Bottles, JJbs sports bar and the pub in the same road as the apartments. The local supermache is within easy walking distance and good value. Evenings spent on Seafront trying out various resturants and all very eager to give good service, some having entertainment later on. Route 66 a good later evening haunt for music and fun. The main square is excellent for clubs that shut when the last man/woman standing leaves. These apartments we would highly recommend, the in-house resturant excellent for food and drinks, with great service. We will be going back next year.

Large size rooms, very clean and airy. Everyone helpful and friendly, some road noise if you are in Block B. Restaurant has good food and reasonably priced. No kettle only coffee maker. TV handset can be obtained at reception but only 2 English Channels. Lovely pool and jacuzzi. Best place to eat called The Place, down alley way to the sea not far from Casino, English owned good food and good prices. Beer also good there. Excellent holiday.
