I have read hundreds of reviews when booking holidays but never wrote one bebore. This hotel as far as i am concerned will live up to your expectations the food is buffet style with plenty to chose from, the rooms are done every day, the whole place is very clean. the spa is supperb offering gym, indoor and outdoor jacussi, sunbeds, heated swimming pool and a stream room. The truth is that it is about 25 minute walk to lloret but Fenal beach is about 10 minutes away there are plenty of shops, restuarants and bars close by, but watch the draft beer in the navy bar.

Can't fault it

23 June 2007
From start to finish, and we just returned from a 12 day stay at the Aquarium, you couldn't fault it. Indoor heated pool and outdoor pool. Staff throughout the hotel were helpful and friendly. Having stayed in Fenals last year we knew the area and had spoken to people of all nationalities who had stayed at the Aquarium and most had returned time after time. Not haute cuisine perhaps but there was always something on the menu to suit the fussy eater (me) If not, go and spend 7 euros in one of the many cafe/restaurants. Excellent base for exploring either on foot or by bus and train for the more adventurous. We also found an exquisite beach bar but we're not going to share that one!!

Clean hotel. Food buffet style and they did cater for all nationalities. One downfall is that the restaurant did not open for dinner till 7pm which we consider to be a little late. Within walking distant to beach. Bars and shops near. Would stay there again.

A pleasant stay at the Aquarium Hotel

07 November 2006
The Aquarium Hotel is in a perfect location, close to the beach and not too far from the centre although without the inconvenience. Very pleasant hotel, excellent staff, choice of food limited but of good quality. All in all excellent value for money.  I would certainly recommend the hotel out of season. The area is also very pleasant out of season with loads to do for every taste.

My 17 year old son and I stayed at the Aquarium for 3 nights in early October, it was not our first choice and on arrival the exterior looks a bit 'tired'. However, the foyer was attractive, bright, and clean. The reception staff were all first-class, helpful, informative, and quick. The room was a little small but was also very clean and reasonably well furnished. In particular, heavy curtains which cut out all the external noise. The area is border-line residential and has a large well-stocked supermarket within 100 metres. The bars in the immediate area of the hotel and fairly small but the main entertainment area is only a 5-10 minute walk away.
Food at the hotel was not 'cordon bleu' but what do you expect for £31 per night, it was certainly edible and hot.
All in all the break was a resounding success and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel .

Just back having spent 3 days in the AQUARIUM. Could not fault the hotel. Spotlessly clean and totally relaxing. Bedrooms ample and cleaned daily. Food good, and a decent selection. Staff were efficient, frienly and helpful. Use the hotel carpark as parking on the nearby streets is difficult.  10 minute stroll to the beach. Would I go back to this hotel - yes. Would I book through Alpharooms again-most certainly.

A superb Hotel....Would reccomend highly. Food was excellent and staff and facilities from the top drawer. Central to a myriad of exciting day trips and the airports of Gerona and Barcelona.

Review of 'Hotel Aquarium'

Hotel is more three star than four star, but for the price of just over £31 a night, for two, half board, we weren't complaining. The hotel is extremely clean, with friendly staff. There were no problems finding a sunbed, although space around the pool, can be a bit of a problem.
Most of the guests are French and middle aged.
Not much nightlife, around the hotel, but Lloret is just a ten minute walk away, down the main road at the front of the hotel.

October 2006.
Location is very built up & not particularly attractive, but it is a pleasant 10 minute stroll down to Fenals Beach which is absolutely stunning. Hotel spotless. Room comfortable (but no fridge). Staff friendly & helpful. Indoor & outdoor pool excellent. Entertainment pretty dreadful, but it amused the children! Food good. Overall, a very good stay & fantastic value.

excellent hotel,  food faultless, good location, very big indoor pool, and outdoor,  outdoor jacuzzi bubbling  at 32c  allday,   a nice  age range of clientele  ;a bit to posh;  for the ruffians, 800metres from lively  lloret  but far enough away  if thats what you want, would not hesitate  to go back or reccommend  this hotel ENJOY.

Hotel was lovely, room very clean but ours was a bit small with no fridge as stated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pool area was excellent. Food excellent but could do with a bit more variation especially at breakfast (breakfast same alternate days). Entertainment in hotel not to my liking but would suit older travellers. Would definitely use hotel again and this site but transfers from airport - very poor service - took 3 hours for a 30 minute car journey.

Both myself and my girlfriend Kirsty thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Aquarium. We were absolutely awestruck when we arrived in reception as it was spectacular. Everything looked either new or very well maintained. We stayed for 5 nights from the 12 to the 17 June on a half board basis.

The room was very clean, with a nice en suite bathroom and a spacious living area. By the pool was good with plenty of sunloungers and both snack bars providing a good range of products. The staff were also extremely helpful and friendly.

We never really managed to get up in time for breakfast, but I must admit that I was disappointed by the quality of the food on offer at the evening meal, which is the only reason its not 5/5. I'd reccommend that you only go B&B or Room only.

It is well situated as it is in a quiet area of Lloret, but close enough to the busy town centre for the nightlife to be handy for us. The beach was also only 5 minutes walk away and there are a wide range of shops and good restaurants nearby.

Overall, I was delighted with my stay and by the price of £110 each. I will definitely use this hotel next timei I go back to Lloret and would reccommend it to all, as there is something for everyone.

Pleasant Surprise

23 April 2005
We visted the Hotel Aquarium in early April 05 when it was comparatively quiet. The foyer and public spaces were of a 4 star standard as was the outdoor and indoor polls (much appreciated in a cold early April). The food was excellent and served buffet style in a bright, comfortable dining room. The drink, alcoholic or soft, was very cheap with an excellent selelction of wine in the restaurant. All staff were friendly, helpful and efficient with no language difficulties. The only caveat was the room, although well appointed, was rather small.

Our first stay in a large tourist hotel was a good experience. Early in the season, mid April, it was very quiet giving a good ambience and making mealtimes in the buffet-style resturant very pleasant. A large range of good food well cooked, very reasonable wine prices and attentive and friendly staff. Good sized room with excellent bathroom and hotel kept beautifully clean throughout. Beds a little on the firm side.
Positioned in a quiet area, close to local shops. Fenals beach, better than Lloret's beach, within a short walk. No sea views, just the adjacent Oasis Park hotel and appartment blocks. Would be very happy to use it again for a spring break but would be worried about noise levels in the high season.

We went on a package deal to the Aquarium in May 03 for 2 weeks , lovely hotel, rooms , staff etc. the food was excellent lots of choice. We are going back there next year but will book through alpha-beds. as this web site offers good accommodation and value for money. we have booked our last 2 holidays with them and both have been great.
