Apartments Laurisilva

We stayed 9 nights at the end of May in this wonderful apartment complex. Our arrival by taxi from the port of Val Gran Rey was a bit of a surprise, the complex is closer into the town than we expected and did not look very grand from the street. We were greeted by name by a very efficient receptionist who spoke perfect English, and were made to feel welcome straight away. Once inside the complex the large swimming pool and sunbed area were a perfect place to relax and could be a million miles from the street outside. Our room was clean and comfortable with a fridge/freezer and basic cooking facilities (there was no oven or microwave). There are two supermarkets opposite the complex and several restaurants close by. The port and beaches are less than 15 minutes walking time, giving easy access to several dozen restaurants in all. The island of La Gomera is a walker’s paradise provided you are fit and have a good head for heights. It is not the place for anyone wanting tourist attractions or night life. We found the Laurisilva Apartments the perfect place to stay for a relaxing holiday and will definitely return.

We spent four nights at the Laurisilva hotel in Valle Gran Rey and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The staff were very friendly and the apartment comfortable with a nice terrace overlooking the huge swimming pool. The view from the pool over the Valle Gran Rey cliffs was stunning. For the best possible view from your flat, I recommend that you ask for a first floor flat on the lefthand side of the pool, as you walk in. My only criticism would be that there were not enough exotic flowers and plants around the hotel and that the hotel could do with a lick of paint. This is an ideal hotel for families with kids!
