Review of 'APARTMENTS CITADINES SAINT GERMAIN DES PRES'
18 June 2006
We stayed at the Citadines on a gloriously sunny weekend and I must say the location was perfect (on the River Seine, diagonally across from Notre Dame).
We came into Paris on Eurostar and it took 30mins max to get to the door of the hotel (only 2 stops on line B, no need to take the metro, just take the suburban train to St Michel and the hotel is 3 min walk from that stop).
We were hoping for a view of the River Seine, but were equally as happy with our view of the spires of Notre Dame across the rooftops of Paris.
In terms of food, breakfast wasn't included for us, but it looked very basic anyway. There was a coffee machine available for everyone to use, so there was free tea and coffee 24/7, except during breakfast when you had to pay for it?!?
We had a 1 bedroom apartment rather than a standard hotel room and it was clean and spacious. The air con was not great though and found it to be rather hot and stuffy.
St Germain has a wealth of restaurants and bars so there were plenty of options to choose from. It's a great area if you like a buzzy atmosphere.
All in all, I would stay at Citadines again, probably mainly for it's great location.
