Apartments Cel Blau I

Don't be put off by the "basic" tag applied to this accommodation. We stayed in a 2 bedroomed apartment which was very spacious and had a large kitchen with oven, microwave and fridge freezer. The 1 bed apartments are located around the swimming pool and the 2 beds are set in a quieter position but as there are only 25 apartments in total no matter where you stay you should enjoy peace and quiet.

We've been to Cala'n Bosch 3 times now and if we were to visit again I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Being on the edge of the resort it is a gentle 20 minute stroll along the sea front to the harbour side - the more direct route would only take 15 minutes but it's not quite the same as having the sea at you side.

Having visited Menorca in May, we loved it so much we decided to return in September.  We looked at many sites on the Internet and used Alpha Rooms to book our accommodation at Cala'n Bosch.  Alpha Rooms advertise these apartments as budget accommodation but we found that they were clean and well-appointed.  We were lucky that when we arrived we found that we'd been upgraded from a one-bedroom to a three-bedroom apartment at no extra cost.

Arriving late at night, it was useful to know from a previous review that a list is located outside the Reception building, showing your name and the number of your apartment.  The key was in the door and we were delighted to find the rooms to be fitted out to such a good standard.  The three-bedroom apartment has a four-ring cooker and a full size fridge with half size freezer.

The apartments are laid out in very well kept gardens in a quiet residential area.  The small swimming pool is clean and there are plenty of sun beds for those wishing to use them.  As it was hot when we were there in the middle of September, we found the pool ideal to cool down when we returned from our sightseeing.  

Within easy walking distance is the rocky coast, where you can sit in the evening and watch spectacular sunsets over Majorca.  Close by there are shops, supermarkets, an off-licence and several restaurants.  We tried two of them and found them to be very good.  

It takes about twenty minutes to walk into Cala'n Bosch, which has just about everything anyone could want from a quieter, low-key holiday.  There are shops, a great variety of restaurants and the very pretty marina.  Just beyond, there is the main beach and Son Xoriguer beach a little further along.  Both look very good for families and there are good footpaths along the coastline.

A tip for people using this centre is that the company has another, larger complex nearby which has a bigger pool, a restaurant and club, with entertainment for both adults and children.  Ask at Reception for details and you can use the facilities at no extra charge.  The young lad working on Reception while we were there couldn't have been more helpful.

We can thoroughly recommend Alpha Rooms.  They are honest about the accommodation.

Cel Blau was the cheapest deal I had looked for and a great bargain. I know Menorca very well and thought being close to the centre of Cala n Bosch was ideal. Website states it is basic budget travellers accommodation but I found it to be similar to a lot of Menorcan accommodation I have stayed in in the past and it was well equipped.

There is no reception to speak of, rooms are allocated by a chart on the wall outside to show arrivals which bungalow to take (bungalow is left open). A very quiet small and well kept complex with a pool and sunbathing terrace. The bungalow itself was ample for our needs and included a kitchenette with 2 ring hob fridge and microwave. Bathroom with bath/shower, toilet and sink. Towels and linen was changed twice in the week.

I have also added a more indepth review at www.holidaysuncovered.co.uk which included driving instructions as Alpharooms do no provide them and it may be hard to locate if you did not know Menorca very well. I really enjoyed my stay here and would glady recommend bith Alpharooms and the Cel Blau Apartments.
