Aparthotel Eden Playa

located right on the beach in a sheltered position the situation cant be faulted. its a quiet strip between can picanfort and alcudia on a parallel road to the main road so little traffic and safe. all the facilities you might need are right there, food, showers, pools, bar, kids club, tennis (additional fee) etc. the apartments are spacious and very clean with great sea views or pool views. the pools are lovely and clean with lots of sun beds surrounding them with shaded areas and gardens. the self catering is basic, just two electric rings and a microwave, a fridge, crockery and utensils but ok for a light breakfast or lunch or warming baby milk. this is certainly a place to relax. the food is good although in the main restaraunt it could be hotter. you can pay for your meals on a daily basis if you wish, all the on site dining accepts credit card or cash. the hotel had a food deal running during our stay and let our youngest child (8) eat for free. the whole place is very clean and well run, the staff being attentive but invisible. there are buses regularly into alcudia and there is a water taxi over the sea from the hotel front to alcudia bay. the national park is 0.5K away and easily accessible on foot. if you hire a car (which you can do at the hotel) there is ample parking around the hotel. you can also hire mountain bikes directly from the hotel, also a kettle or toaster.there are places to eat close by and a small amusement arcade across the street which closes around 7pm. price wise, the cost of food and petrol is about the same as the uk (as at april 09) so not a cheap break other than the accommodation price via alpharooms. we had no problems whatsoever with our booking and all the travel arrangements went smoothly. we would definately revisit the hotel and have used alpharooms in the past and will again in the future.

Family with Children 11 and Under

Having stayed at the Eden Playa in 2005 we are returning again in 2006. A lovely apartment/hotel complex centred around beautifully maintained gardens. An ideal venue for families with young children as the pools are safe and clean and the beach is only a short stroll. The sea is shallow, non tidal, clean and (most importantly to me) warm! so ideal for young and old alike.

Service throughout was excellent and there are several restaurants just outside the complex so you can sample a different menu/atmosphere without having to travel far.

My only down comment on the location was the limited or rather poor cash point facilities in the immediate vicinity. On a few occasions I had to hire a bike and ride to a nearby town/shopping parade simply to draw cash from an ATM. Still this is not the fault of the hotel.
