My wife, 14 year old daughter and I have just returned from 2 fabulous weeks in Puerto Pollensa staying at the Pollensamar Apts. Having never previously been to Puerto Pollensa we were very impressed by the resort itself. It has a fabulous setting and lots of things to do if you want more than simply relaxing and enjoying the sun and the scenery. If you are looking for somewhere quiet with a few families and a smaller pool then the Pollensamar apts could be for you. Lying towards the end of the Pinewalk it takes about 15 mins walking to reach the beginning of the restaurant area but what a lovely stroll, especially in the early evening sun. Although a little bit dark walking home in the late evening is equally pleasant. Two small mini markets are conveniently located either side of the apts though a little more expensive than the larger supermarkets in town which we would have used if we'd had a car. Although small the pool was adequate and very well suited to those with younger children. Most families seemed to alternate between beaches and the pool for some variety. If you want to be near to the larger beaches you need to be at the other side of the bay. Our apt was more than adequate for 3 people although storage was a bit tight. A lovely balcony overlooking the pool caught the late afternoon sun. We chose to eat in about half of the time and found the facilities and provision of utensils etc satisfactory for simple cooking. The apt was cleaned very well every second day with fresh towels provided. Whilst there are bigger apt complexes set further back from the Pinewalk with larger swimming pools we were very glad to have selected Pollensamar for the reasons outlined above. Puerto Pollensa has a number of cycle hire shops offering good bikes at a range of prices. Trips to Pollensa old town and Alcudia were enjoyable family outings along very safe cycle lanes. In general we were pleasantly surprised by the level of courtesy given to cyclists and pedestrians by drivers in Puerto Pollensa. As a cyclist I have yet to experience this anywhere in the UK!
