Great hotel and holiday!

30 May 2009
Great location, friendly helpful staff and a lovely room. We both really enjoyed our stay here and would return (which says it all really!) Would recommend the bike tour, excellent way to see the city and not too demanding at all. Don't miss the trip to Auschwitz - you can easily do it alone by local bus (stand D8 when we went) takes approx 90mins and costs 10 zl (£2.50 one way).

A really good find

25 May 2009
I was really impressed by this hotel, I'm usually very hard to please having worked in the industry for a number of years. Whilst it is probably more aimed at couples and business, we were a ten men (albeit quite well behaved) stag party and were very well looked after. Location, decor, staff , rooms were top drawer - this is a very modern minimalist hotel but the only cheap thing was the price. I would wholly recommend it.

Andels Hotel was great

30 March 2009
At Krakow airport you take the shuttle bus to the train station and 15 mins later you are in Krakov. Cost 6ZL or €1.25. Andels Hotel is ideally located about 150 Metres from the train station. The Hotel itself is top class. Very modern, excellent bedrooms, clean great [staff restauant, bar, barfood, breakfast.] The location is perfect, walking distance to the old town. It is also next to an enormous new shopping mall with restauants and all the designer names. We really enjoyed our stay. It is also great value eating out or in is very cheap. We went to italian restaurants mostly and i can recommend Carlito's, Mama Mia's, and Andels Hotel itself. We were there end on march 2009. Our weather was not great but we got around. you will enjoy Krakow and in particular you will enjoy Andels Hotel it is EXCELLENT.

Excellent Hotel

25 March 2009
Staying at this hotel made all the difference to our stay in Krakow. It is as good as many 5* hotels. Beautifully appointed, modern, hotel; excellent position; pleasant, helpful and attentive staff; good breakfast; and fantastic value. 100% recommendation! Henry PS Don't fly to Krakow with Whizzaiir - they land at Katowitce Airport which is 100km+ away; there are no direct transfers to Krakow other than their own buses which cost 50zl each way (by comparison 2 public buses which follow the same route cost < 20zl); and it takes 1.5hrs!!

To be recommended

20 March 2009
I cannot do more than repeat what others have said - lovely hotel, conveniently situated, friendly staff - nothing too much trouble. Krakow itself is very clean and the people friendly. The hotel staff will try to get you to use their taxis and tours, which are unnecessarily expensive, but with the bus and train stations so close, we used public transport for our trips - strongly recommend checking return times on your way out - we waited almost an hour in an icy wind on a platform with no shelter, as we couldn't understand the timetables - have only ourselves to blame for that! Would definitely recommend Andels Hotel and use again if return to Krakow.

Very impressed with hotel. Room and bathroom lovely - one of the best bathrooms I've been in. Breakfast extensive, everything you could want. Staff very helpful. Location excellent. Excellent hotel. Very stylish and modern. Very easy to find. Take the train from the airport. Get to the hotel in 15 mins. Much cheaper than getting a taxi. Stayed here for 3 days last September 2008. Staff very helpful and friendly. The organised tours from the hotel were a little bit expensive but saves a lot of hassle. Hotel was spotless and room was cleaned daily. Bathroom out of this world. Large shower and bath. Perfect after a long days sightseeing. Brilliant location. Only 5 mins walk from city centre. Massive shopping centre next door. Definately recommend this hotel to anyone coming to beautiful Krakow. You won't be disappointed. Book it now with Alpharooms. Cheapest by far.

Fantastic Hotel

03 March 2009
During our three night visit we agreed that Andels was the best hotel we have stayed in in Europe. For the first time in a long time a hotel actually lived up to its star rating and all for the bargain price of 60 euro a night per double room, including a varied, well presented and tasty breakfast. The staff seemed extremely hard working and serious about their tasks and were very courteous at all times. The gym facilities included two state of the art running machines, two cross trainers and a bike. The changing facilities were clean and ultra modern as were the showers and sauna. All of which we had to ourselves! The location was perfect - so close to everything and we simply couldn't have asked for better. We have already started to look into a return visit as the only down side was we never got to do and see all the things we wanted. Shame - we’ll just have to go back for longer next time. Thanks Andels.

Andels Krakow

27 February 2009
I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Krakow. It was in a great location about 5-10min walk from the old town square. It's so easy to get to from the airport, the express train only takes 15mins and leaves you accross from the hotel. The hotel was very clean and very modern and among one of the best we have stayed in. Breakfast had a good variety and staff were very eager to help. We found the trips organized by the hotel were very reasonable and tour guides great. Overall I would say it would be harder to find a nicer hotel in a better location and at such a reasonable price.

4 Nights in Krakow

24 February 2009
Was looking for a reasonably priced hotel for 2 50+ couples close to the sights. Found Andels and read reviews, Got what i thought was a pretty good rate from this site, but was surprized at how good it was after looking the normal prices quoted in the hotel. We got 2 dbl rooms for 42 couples fro 4 nights-thurs to mon in Feb for €444 incl a fab . self service breakfast .The double beds are a huge 7ft6ins with high quality linnen and pillows, tea making facilities in room , underfloor heating in bathroom and safe in room. The advice i would give to anyone coming to Krakow is get the train from airport to central station for 10 Zlots (€2.6) for 4 . The hotel is just up the ramp and accross the square to the right, , no more than 2/3 hundred meters. The hotel is a modern hotel with all facilities and in the old town and within reasonable walking distance of most of the "to see" areas. Taxis are really cheap but be sure to get one with a meter as some that operate from the back of the hotel are hackney and give you a price, which can be an advantage if you want to bargain for a long trip , but for short to medium trips , a regular one is better. Eating out is cheap and we used reviewed resturants with a good degree of satisfaction.

Krakow in the snow

16 February 2009
My and I have stayed in Andels hotel in Prague before and this hotel in Krakow maintains the same high standard. The hotel staff are polite, have good English and are very helpful. We stayed on St Valentine's Night, which contrary to guide books is celebrated in Poland, the hotel ran a function which our rooms were close to. However we did not hear a thing as the soundproofing was excellent. Andels rooms are well laid out and functional. I can't complain as we both found the rooms very good and modern. The breakfasts are of a high standard, however get there early as the best food can be gone by 8:00, although there is always plenty to eat. There is a wide range from cereals, continental, fruits and cooked breakfast, there was also a chef cooking omelettes to order. Our mini bar was broken, but one visit to reception and 30minutes later it was replaced. The hotel is very handy to the Square, which has lots of bars, above and underground restaurants, shops. You are close to the train station for the airport shuttle train (every 30mins - 16 mins journey). The bus station is next door for your trips to Auschwitz. The minibus we took from the Salt Mine dropped us off on Jozefa Dielta and Starowisina and got us home despite 20-30cms of snow that day. Krakow is a great city and Andels hotel superb, I would love to go again for more that 4 days probably in the summer

Andels Hotel Krakow

26 December 2008
As all have said a modern clean and friendly hotel in a great location, staff polite and helpful, on the down side I found my bed a bit too hard for my liking. Breakfast good choice but despite food being in heated metal pots found to be luke warm/cold. Reception desk push you to use local tours - did and although great guides they are extremely rushed no chance at eating or browsing the stalls on the tours recommend going alone on local transport sadly my travel friend was not as keen on me to be independant also quite expensive as most of the time is spent picking up other passengers. A great city and would love to go again

Ideal location

06 December 2008
This hotel is situated very close to the old town, 10 minutes walk away, the railway station and a tram stop. Take the express train from the airport to the main station and the hotel is directly opposite. The hotel rooms, although not huge are furnished to a high standard, particularly the en-suite shower room. The beds are extremely comfortable while the pillows are the best I've had in any hotel. Great to have tea and coffee making facilities, so often missing in Continental hotels. We found the staff delightful with nothing too much trouble. The breakfast offered a huge choice with the food being of an excellent quality. I defy anyone not too enjoy it. This is one of the best city break hotels we have stayed in and thanks to Alpharooms at a very reasonable rate. Can't wait to go back to Krakow and the Andels hotel .

This hotel is excellent!! location is fantastic, no busy road to cross if you use subway next to hotel, you then are 5mins away from the old square. Rooms are very clean, and well furnished with a luxurious feel, very quite, breakfast facilities were excellent also with great variety offered. There is also the large shopping mall and railway station opposite hotel at the rear, if you fancied some retail therapy!! The hotel lived up to the great reviews. Very modern stylish bathroom. Great location, very convenient for train station. Lots of choice for breakfast. We had good meals out, we didn't eat evening meal in hotel as it was empty each night so preferred to eat in the old town. The town is lovely with lots to see and do. Perfect Hotel

26 September 2008
Just returned from a 3 night stay at Andels Hotel, Krakow and wanted to echo the sentiments of all the other reviewers. It is a modern, stylish, comfortable, ultra-clean hotel in a convenient location. It is the best hotel that I've stayed in on a city break and would highly recommend it. Krakow itself is a lovely city and the only disappointment was the weather (it rained for practically the whole weekend and it was unseasonably cold for late September). We used the train to get to and from the airport and we arranged our own trips to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines by using public transport. It was all very easy and much cheaper than the organised tours. We didn't have enough time to do everything we had planned but we managed to fit in a Vivaldi concert and enjoyed eating at a variety of different restaurants, all of which were good. I would also like to recommend booking through Alpharooms which gave us a fantastic rate for the 3 night stay.

Simpy the best!

16 September 2008
The Andels is by far the best hotel we have stayed in! Thanks to Alpharooms we paid less than a lot of other people staying there. The hotel staff were absolutely lovely, so polite and friendly. The rooms beautifully equipped and the bathrooms a dream. In fact we could have spent the entire weekend in and around the hotel! Glad we didn't though because Krakow is a sight to behold. The hotel is in a fantastic location - close to the train station, 5mins walk into the old town square. So much to see and so many genuinely nice Polish people in bars and restaurants. We took trips to the Salt Mine and also Auschwitz. We found the Salt Mine interesting but walked for miles and miles (a bit too long). Auschwitz was sombre as you would imagine but well worth a visit and the guide was excellent.

That's what I call a shower!

30 August 2008
We have just spent three nights at Andels Hotel Krakow and throughly enjoyed it. The hotel is superb. It is clean, efficient and feels secure; the breakfasts are splendid and it is possible to eat outside in the square, in the sun. On the last morning we ordered room service to save a few minutes. There was as much on the trolley as we had eaten the previous two days! The rooms are small but easily big enough for two people, and no expense has been spared in the design. The bathroom just has to be seen to be appreciated. The walk-in shower is the best I have ever used and the underfloor heating on the tiles was a good touch. The TV is excellent and I now need to upgrade ours. We travelled from the airport by train and it's a very easy journey both ways. We visited the Salt Mine via public transport, which made it rather more of an adventure than a pre-booked trip and saved quite a lot although we are not comparing like-for-like there. Three nights didn't quite give us enough time to do everything we had intended, but that gives a reason to go back. The old town is beautiful; the local population are polite and friendly but the pigeons in Rynek Glowny are the most fearless birds on the planet.

Great hotel in perfect location.

23 August 2008
Andels is a fantastic hotel right in the centre of Krakow - highly recommended. It is situated across the square from the main train station which makes the airport transfer a piece of cake (6 zlotys each way). The walk to the main square in the old town takes about 5 - 10 minutes making it the perfect base for exploring this beautiful city. There is also a large shopping mall next to the hotel with stores such as Mango, Zara & lots of other designer shops. The hotel rooms are bright and modern with plasma tvs and dvd players, a safe, a mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities & a hairdryer. The only slight issue we had was the fact that a triple room was simply a twin room with a camp bed set up by the window - this isn't what we were expecting, however it was comfortable and was perfectly adequate for our 2 night stay. The lifts can only be operated by using your room key card which made it feel very secure. Breakfast is included in the room rate and was excellent with everything from full cooked breakfast, cereals, fruit, cold meats & cheese, various pastries and even a chef who will make you an omelete to order. It's served from 6.30am until 11am and you won't need lunch after it! The staff were friendly and very helpful. It was great value for money and all in all one of the best city break hotels I've ever stayed in. I will definitely book this hotel on my return to Krakow and I'll be looking at the other hotels in the Summit group particuarly Prague and Paris which look equally spectacular.

Andels Krakow

20 August 2008
Just across the square from the rail station and within a few minutes walk of the old town this imposing, modern hotel provides a good base for exploring the area. Our 5 night stay was very enjoyable. A nice hotel with a nice, clean feel to it. The only criticism we had was the shortage of wardrobe space for a couple staying for more than a short period. The breakfast room was well organised and a very good buffet was available. Watch out for the price of drinks in the town centre. Have a look around, there are some great little bars in side streets which are a lot more resasonable. A trip to Auschwitz is a must. Take enough time to let the horror sink in. You can tag on to a tour guided group. Just get a bus and do it yourself but beware getting a return ticket unless you get the same bus back. Get 2 singles, its cheap enough. The trams are good and frequent so have a look around.

We are just back from a 5 day trip to Poland. Cracow is a beautiful city. Stayed at the Andels hotel near the station and 10 minutes stroll from the old town. The hotel could not do enough for us. We were picked up at the airport in one of there cars and at the hotel were upgraded to a superior room on the 5th floor. The room was fabulous - very clean and modern, large flat screen TV on the wall and a walk in shower big enough for at least 6 people! We did not expect much from the included breakfast, but it was excellent. Lots of variety, both hot and cold and some mornings eggs etc. cooked fresh while you wait. Enjoyed our stay at this hotel, great location close to the Old Town & very easy to reach from the airport via the cute little train. Friendly staff, very comfy beds & excellent breakfasts. One glitch - they couldn't find our reservation details on the Saturday we arrived, but luckily did have a room, & tracked down our booking on the Monday. Perfectly located in the centre of Krakow. Rooms on the small side but perfectly presented with plenty of nice touches, such as good quality egyptian linen and a large mounted flat screen tv with speakers through to the funky and spacious bathroom. On the negative side - nothing much to report. Mini bar could have been cheaper (but when is a mini bar ever fairly priced?) and there were no robes in the room (which felt a bit unusual given that so much thought had gone into the bathroom design), but for just over £120 a night for new and central hotel, really can't grumble. The Hotel also has its own taxis to collect you from airport (a couple of nice new Mercs) which we would recommend booking as these worked out cheaper (and obviously more convenient) than the normal taxis available from the airport.

Great City Break

23 March 2008
four days in Krackow - hotel excellent and very central. Hotel and staff were brilliant - nothing too much trouble. Bathroom to die for - hotel exceptionaly clean. Buffet breakfast was one of the best ever had - fantastic array of food fresh every day. Only downside was meal in hotel restaurant [not cheap] I had a starter my husband did not - we were served with my starter with my husband's main course together - I was left eating my main course alone - and it was cold !!!!! Not great for a four star hotel. Would return - but not eat in the restaurant in the evening. We do not have large appetites but but still felt hungry afterwards - not suitable for those who enjoy large meal. Thanks Andels for a fab stay

My wife and I have just returned from 4 nights stay at " Andels " and it was perfect in every way . We are both over 65 and I have problems walking but this was no disadvantage here . The transfer from airport to hotel by bus and train in approx. 30 minutes was amazingly cheap and simple. The hotel and staff could not be faulted . We have stayed in many hotels around the world but this is certainly one of the best. The regular trips to Auswich/ Birkenhau and the salt mines were very good but shop around we found a difference of 40 zlotys each on one trip compared to the one advertised in the hotel. We would most definitely reccomend this hotel to anyone considering a trip to Krakow.
