What our customers say
Stayed at the Ambassadors on a Saturday night after watching a performance of We Will Rock You. The hotel is spotless clean, quite modern and funky but it is very very small. Think of Hotel Babylon of BBC One, but a completely miniature version of that.
My only gripe with this place, and the only one, was they asked to take a swipe of my card in case I had anything from the bar or room service then they could take payment from my card. But, what the male receptionist did was enter £50.00 on the machine and when he passed it to me he didn’t say “I have entered £50”, it just said ‘enter pin’. I asked why he would need my pin when I was not making a payment and he informed me he was going to take £50 from my card and that would be my credit to the hotel and whatever was left I would get refunded. I was not happy about this and explained that what I had on my card was my spending money for my London trip and didn’t was to give £50 up and not have it for the weekend, that is why I had already paid for the room so I didn’t owe them anything. He said ok, cancelled the transaction and then we got shown up to our room. So if you don’t want to pay the £50 – DON’T!
The bedrooms were really nice, very small again but nice. The bathroom is a Wet Room which was cool, no getting in and out of baths or showers, just walk-in.
We got back to the hotel about 12.30am and the hotel bar was still open so we had a couple of drinks and sat on the front of the hotel. About 1.00am-ish they asked if we could go to our rooms or leave because apparently the police don’t let the public drink in receptions of hotels anymore (?)
Breakfast in the morning was brilliant! You could have a full English, croissants, toast, cereal, fruit, yogurts etc… and the best thing of all was the fresh smoothies they brought out. There is nothing in the world that tasted better than these! All juices too were fresh.
Overall, a 2 night stay in this hotel is brilliant. It is clean, fresh, modern, friendly and very small! Out of 10 I would give it a 7.
