Would not go back if I was being paid!
28 August 2008
Not quite sure that all the people who have written the previous reviews stayed at the same place as us!
All I can say is thankfully we only stayed here for 2 nights! I have never stayed in such a craphole and certainly will not consider going back! The room was dirty,(cigarette ends on the floor) none of the lights in the main living area worked, the sofabed was a joke. My wife and I would have almost have been more comfortable on the floor (and that is where I would have tried to sleep had it been cleaner). We could get little or no water from any of the taps. The furniture was falling apart, (the back was hanging off the dresser, the stools at the breakfast bar were unstable. Most of the furniture had English names carved into their visible surfaces (can't really blame the owners for this but it told a story about the general standard of the room and needed mentioning).
Perhaps standards have dropped since the other reviews were written and maybe we were just unlucky but I guess the room we had was their 'English families room' which had been abused by previous occupants who I am ashamed to say I am the same nationality as.
The noise of children screaming and shouting into the early hours, running around the complex added to the noise of their selfish parents drinking on their balconies with no concern for the fact that others might be trying to sleep. I am grateful for the fact that I had a set of earplugs with me or I wouldn't have slept at all.
I know the room was cheap, but that doesn't excuse the level of cleanliness, the lack of water or the absence of a comfortable bed. After all, what are we actually paying for.
In summary, we will certainly not be going back, not at any price.

Great Value for Money
13 September 2007
The rooms were spacious and very clean with the maid coming in every day during our 11 day stay. The only downside were the beds and pillows, could do with updating as they were a little uncomfortable. There's a poolside bar serving drinks and snacks and free sun loungers. The reception staff were really helpful and organised a hire car which we used to explore the island. The onsite restaurant is excellent, various menus at different prices with free salad with each meal. On an evening there's entertainment which includes karoake. There's also pool and darts. The surrounding area is mainly British with lots of small bars and cafes. If you want more of an traditional experience head towards Las Gallestas where there are lots of Tapas bars/restaurants on the sea front and down the side streets.
The Alondras is great value for money and we would visit again.

Great resort.
28 August 2007
We have stayed previously and knew what to expect of alondras park. It is very basic but like others have mentioned, you get what you pay for. Its clean, and cleaned every two days, staff very friendly. The Harvester is a must, that is the restaurant situated within the complex but run seperatly. Costa del silencio is a quite resort, but that is very appealing to many, there are plenty of bars to choose from still. I shall definatly go back but try different accomadation?

This was a really good value for money holiday. The apartments were large and well furnished, although fairly basic. The reception snd cleaning staff were very friendly and the rooms cleaned every 2 days. The apartments are central for access to bars and restaurants, and Los Christianos and Playa de las Americas are a 15 minute bus ride away. On top of this, the weather was fantastic, and I'd recommend Alondras Park for a good value break away.

This was a great place. I was there for a week. The apartment was nice and clean, and there where changed towels etc. every second day. Be aware of that 99% are british, and if you are from Norway and travels alone, that can get a little lonely :-)
Maby a little to silent for party people, but if your are looking for are nice and quite place to relax, this is the place.. and its cheap. :-D After all the name is Costa Silencio. Los Christianos is only 10 minutes away with bus. And to the staff and workers there: Thank you, i had a great time.
PS: The bar by the pool is open from 10 am to 4 pm.

Review of 'ALONDRAS PARK'
30 December 2006
Just come back from visiting Alondros Park. The receptionist was rude, a lot of shouting. The cleaners were the best thing there, they cleaned the rooms every other day we were there (12days) except Xmas Day which is understandable.
One of the bedrooms smelt all the time, we did have a washing machine in the bathroom but it's door was off it's hinges, there was no mircowave or oven just 3 saucepans a frying pan and 4 cooking rings oh and toaser and kettle. You have to pay for the tv. Cum the evening the local people who live there were shouting and running (local kids) about all the time into the early hours. Nice for young people who are out and about all the time but we will not be going there again, although the area there is beautiful we have stayed in the area twice before.
I do recommend the chinese all you can eat down the from Alondros Park 5.98 euros per person

ALONDRAS PARK WAS A LAST MINUTE BOOKING AND THE ONLY AVAILABILITY IN THE AREA. PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THE FACILITIES IN VIEW OF THE PRICE. THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD HAVE IMPROVED IT WAS TO HAVE HEATED SWIMING POOLS AS THE WATER IS NOT WARM IN NOVEMBER! COSTA DEL SILENCIO IS VERY QUIET AND THE EXPAT BRITISH LOCALS ARE A LITTLE INSULAR, BUT LAS GALLETAS IS ONLY 20 MINUTES WALK AND IS A LOVELY LIVELY LOCAL FISHING VILLAGE WITH PLENTY OF EATING PLACES AND SHOPS.FLICKS BAR SEEMED TO BE THE LIVELIEST WITH LIVE MUSIC.JOES BAR, OPPOSITE ALLONDRAS PARK WAS FRIENDLY AND CONVENIENT FOR A LATE NIGHT DRINK. WOULD VISIT AGAIN FOR AN INEXPENSIVE WEEK IN THE SUN

Just thought I would comment from an ex residents point of view!
I lived in Costa del Silencio for 4 years & absolutly loved it there.Someone commented on it being a very ex Brit place.Well I am Irish & found all the locals lovely people. As for the food being expensive? We ate out all the time, mostly at Scotch corner with is beside Alondras park.If you expect the restaurants to offer a 3 course meal like Las Americas or Cristianos for 5.95 well why should they?If you want to stay down there & get a meal for that price then you're going to pay big bucks for your accomdation. This is what happens when you want a cheap holiday in Tenerife,You get put in Alondras park(trust me from a residents point of view). My local used to be Exiles in Coral Mar square & we used to get so tired of holidaymakers complaining about how the area is dead......Well dig your hand deeper in your pocket & pay for the accomdation instead of expecting 5 star accomation for 50 quid for 7 nights!!!!!Obviously living there I never had to stay in the rooms so I can't comment on them but the pool,I used to use regularly & even if it isn't heated well it doesn't take long for the sun to make it warm.Costa del Silencio is a lovely area & the only reason why there are so many ex pats is because they live there to get away from the hussle & bussle of the tourist areas. The locals don't bite you know. So the moral of the story is you get what you pay for! The restaurants are expensive.......Please! You are holidaying on a tax free island & it's a hell of a lot less than UK or Ireland.A taxi from Silencio to Las Americas is around 15 euro each way,so by saving money on accomodation you still have to pay for transportation,so ask yourself are you really saving money in the end? So stop giving out about the place if you are only willing to pay silly money.

The apartment was clean and spaceous but a little dated. The veiw was out to the poolside which was good. The only downside was the bedroom was on the main road and the traffic noise was a little annoying. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The locks to the patio doors were broken but fixed quickly. The nearby amenities were excellent Brooks for evening meal and the avenue for breakfast hard to beat. There is a regular bus service and for 1.25 euro you can get to los cristianos and Playa. A very enjoyable little break. Nightly entertainment not bad. Well worth it.

When my son comes to visit me here I have no hesitation in booking him into Alondras Park. Yes the apartments could do with a bit of TLC but what do you want for your money! With the price of flights these days a holiday in Tenerife becomes affordable by staying at a complex such as Alondras Park. If you want the high life and five star hotels GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. The "noisy" planes are a comfort and I miss them when I am in England visiting family. I come "HOME" to Costa del Silencio and love it. I came to Costa del Silencio as a "tourist" for many years before decide to settle here. I cannot agree with the reviews about being expensive to eat out and where in Éngland can you get a pint of beer for a quid! (or even less if you take the bother to look).
Please the Alondras Park does not try to be something it isn´t. It clearly states it is a 2 key establishment.
In conclusion, no I haven´t got shares in the place and have no hidden agenda for promoting it. I just think people should wake up and be truthful for what they expect for their money.

Good value for money. The apartment complex is nice with the swimming pools in the interiour court, shielded from the wind (pools are not heated, so a bit cool in winter). The bathroom was a bit worn out but still OK, and the matresses could do with replacement. Apart from that the apartment was very spacious, with a nice balcony, huge living room and OK kitchen. For TV you had to pay separately, but that was not an issue for us (better things to do on holiday than sitting in front of the TV...). The supermarket in the apartment complex is handy with daily fresh bread, but somewhat expensive. Better deal to go to one of the downtown supermarkets (5-10 minutes walk). The town Costa Del Silencio itself is very quiet and basic, and no beach. You really need a rental car so you can go out and visit the rest of the island, I would definitely not recommend spending a holiday just staying in Costa Del Silencio or nearby Las Galletas, but as a base for excursions it is great (close too the southern highway). It's relatively close to the southern airport but the planes don't bother, and they only seem to fly during the day hours. Overall conclusion: quite good value for money, but don't expect too much. Great deal for a young couple, like us.

We only had one night here as a stop over until our holiday started on the Golf del Sur the following day. The flights are much cheaper if you go on a Thursday, so we stayed the extra night at Alondras park for £35 for 5 of us and saved a couple of hundred pounds on flights. I would not like to spend a fortnight there but it was great for what we wanted. The pizza place a couple of doors down is fantastic and cheap. Most of Costa del Silecio is occupied by ex Brits, is this the reason that it is a bit shabby ? Would I stay again yes, but only as a one night stop over.

This was very, very basic accommodation, as mentioned in a previous review there was constant noise at night from planes and traffic, the Havester restaurant works out expensive and don't for one minute expect the entertainment to be enjoyable it was appalling. Anyone who has been on the site for any amount of time will warn you that it is not safe to leave things of value in the apartment. On a plus note there are two excellent restaurants close by they are EXILES where the food is exceptional and very inexpensive the owners are English and really great company, and WOODYS WAY where it is a bit more basic but still good. Reception staff were generally OK especially Christina a german lady who could not do enough for you. Nevertheless having travelled far and wide I would not go back to this complex.

The Alondras Park Apartments are extremely good value for money. The apartments are a little tired and maybe some of the kitchen units could do with being updated but our week was thoroughly enjoyable. Everyone was extremely helpful from the supermarket owner to the cleaning staff. Reception staff couldn't have been more helpful if they had tried. The Harvester Restaurant serves fantastic food which is freshly cooked and served by extremely polite and professional staff. Our holiday at the Alondras Park was more than an education it was a revelation in good manners, exactly how a holiday should be. I will have no hesitation whatsoever in booking again later this year and hopefully for many more years to come.

Review of 'ALONDRAS PARK'
13 April 2005
Do not holiday at Alondras Park unless you've got it really cheap! The swimming pools are nice although not heated as stated but the apartments are shabby and under equipped. We booked a self catering holiday at Alondras Park yet the only cooking facilities were 4 hobs - no oven, grill or microwave. We arrived late at night and were put in an appalling apartment which had traffice noise on one side and noisy residents walking past most of the night on the other. There were only mattresses for 4 despite it being an apartment for up to 6 people which meant we had to take the cushions of the sofa for our 3 year old to sleep on as we are a family of 5. There was a broken shaving light in the bathroom with the filament exposed and only hand towels with which to dry ourselves after taking a shower. We had no sleep on the first night due to all the noise which included planes into the early hours so we asked to be moved and the next apartment was much improved but still fairly tatty. The fridge door wouldn't stay shut unless a chair was kept up against it, there was no toaster so we took the one from the first apartment with us, the drains in the bathroom stank and the sink was leaking round the base. The floors were filthy and we all had permanently black feet from walking around in the apartment. About 3 days into our holiday another family had their apartment broken into and everything stolen including passports, plane tickets, money, cameras so we spent the rest of the holiday lugging around all our valuables even when lounging around the pool. TV and safes are provided at extra charge and not cheap either. The restaurant was very expensive and eating out in Costa del Silencio generally was not cheap either. We really enjoyed our holiday because the weather was fantastic and we hope to return next Easter but we will not be staying at Alondras Park or anywhere near it!
