The apartments were very clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. They are spacious, bright, well equipped and maintained - with a terrace (and barbecue!) and an outdoor utility/drying area.
The pool area is large, the water quality good and there is a small poolside bar area for welcome refreshments. The complex and the resort were quiet at the time we were there (Late September) so no problems with towels on the sunbeds!
A word of warning though!! The reception closes at 6pm so late arrivals have to ring a emergency number on the door of reception to gain access. Easier said than done if you don't have a mobile as the town is completely without public phones...
Perhaps a word of advice for post 6pm arrivals could be included in the accommodation details?
That said, the staff were helpful and professional and it genuinely is hard to find fault with the 'Aldeia da Gale'
Gale itself has 5 or 6 excellent eating venues (3 on the beach - all recommended) and excellent safe, sandy beaches, with a nature reserve nearby. The resort has a slightly unfinished look still, but there is no obtrusive construction work. Albufeira and Armacao de Pera are within easy reach by car - own transport being a necessity in this part of the Algarve!
We cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough!
