Great Place

Great Hotel. Lots of upside for the price. Very helpful staff, clean room, 4 minutes walk to the beaches, even closer to town. Would definitely stay there again. Room has "older" feel but also charm. Kitchenette fully stocked with pots and pans, dishes, everything needed to make meals and save additional money. Again, staff very friendly and helpful. Good English speakers. Highly recommended.

Telephone trouble
08 May 2008
I have stayed here on three occasions. It happens to be ideally situated for my job in Albufeira. I have one particular complaint.
They have a cunning plan to get you to use the telephone - which is very very expensive. Incoming callers are told that you are not available but they take the callers phone number.
When they give you the message they say the phone in your room has a fault.
They do not check to see if you are in the room. There is nothing whatever wrong with the phone in the room.
This has happened every time I have stayed there. Be warned!

As review below an absolute bargain hotel. We stayed for 4 nights, weather was great. Situated 30/40 mins from airport. Cost in a taxi 70euro one way, but we booked on line shuttle bus and cost 24euro one way. When we got to shuttle bus which turned out to be a seated transit van, we were the only ones on the bus, what a result. Hotel good, but a bit out of the way. 10 mins walk down steep hill to many shops and bars and a taxi ride of 7euro to the main strip with clubs and bars, which also include a great vegetarian and Japanese restaurant. Hotel food good, prices for drinks very expensive, a 1.5 litre bottle of water 2.30 euro? Room very clean, great shower but only enough water for 2 people to shower and facilities of hotel very good value for money. Would definitely return.

This hotel is great value for money. You definitely get what you pay for, so for £60 for 4 nights was a bargain.
Everything in our room worked perfectly well. we had a main living area which turned into the sleeping area at night. A kitchenette, which had a hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and fully equipped drawers full of utensils.
Bathroom was fine. Powerful shower - contant hot water.
Cleanliness was great. We had a maid everyday to clean our room and make the beds.
The location is in the old town up the hill. Not suitable for guests with walking difficulties, but fine for a stroll down the hill to the town and a bit of a hike up!
No complaints for the place, hotel and Albufeira got our thumbs up!
Would definitely return.

Clean, warm, microwave oven, cooker, fridge all in working order. Good value for money as only paid £70 for one week. Bad points not much sound-proofing between rooms so felt you could join in with next doors conversation. Food in resturant very good value for money. Overall good basic accommodation but you only get what you pay for. Would go back again.

Not luxurious, by any stretch of the imagination......

The complex is quite charming, the staff are extremely friendly and cannot do enough for you, which was really handy as we had to call the plumber out three times, and the electrician once and was in and out of Reception more times that we had hot dinners in in the week we stayed. However, once you remember that the apartments were built in the 1970's, the original tiles, the vintage layouts, all become somewhat charming and I was captivated at the little community feel to the place. The room was clean enough for the money paid, although my other half complained constantly about the shower/dribble (especially when there was no hot water for 3 days), the fridge was either frozen or off, and there was no grill/toaster. We did strike up a bit of rapport with the plumber though and now know the Portuguese for 'thermostat' (termóstato). Another bug bear is that you have to pay 20 euros for the TV remote controller, plus a 10 euro deposit, which stung a little on a budget. The Reception staff were lovely, giving us all the info we needed to explore the town. The hotel is near to the old town and is down hill to the beach (about 5 mins walk), it is a struggle to get back to the top if you are unfit though, but thankfully there are some bars on the way. All in all, I would stay here again, under no impressions that it might be more luxurious than the picture suggests.

Good points first, clean, warm and great view especially of the firework display on new years eve.
Bad points, basic, needs updating, cooker didn't work except for one ring, no toaster and no remote for the tv. ok to walk into town but would never attempt to walk back!! Music from cocktail lounge very loud till very late! luckily we were pretty late back ourselves otherwise wouldn't have been able to sleep. Also requested a low floor for medical reasons but didn't get one.
Finally, you get what you pay for and for the money its pretty good but won't rebook due to location mainly.
